The equipment is old and worn out. I saw 4 drivers get terminated in less than 4 months due to traffic infractions. 
1. Being overweight...driver told me dispatcher made him drive tractor/trailer knowing he was overweight. Company should of paid ticket, instead they terminated his employment because it went against their CSA score which affects their contracts.

2. Not maintaining lane, driver told me he was sleepy, but ended up with Hours of Service Violation as well. Same driver damaged fuel tank backing over concrete blocks because of being sleepy, also backed into stair case in the yard due to being sleepy.

3. Speeding ticket in California, inexperienced driver out of trucking school sent to California with no training. Driver showed me several text messages from dispatcher and another driver telling him to pick up the pace since he was going the speed limit. Several text messages and voicemails from the other driver telling him he was driving too slow. He hired an attorney to prove his case of being pressured by the dispatcher to speed.

4. Damage to sleeper on the truck in the yard due to hostile work environment with management.

3 of these infractions are available on the FMSCA government website for CSA score. Look up U.S. DOT#: 441566.

They avoid many inspections by having transponders in the trucks, many of these trucks would be placed out of service if the DOT flagged them into the weigh stations. They require you to run your truck with the check engine light on, even though it says, service truck immediately. The dispatcher will talk behind your back and tell other drivers how slow this driver and that driver is when you are broke down in another state. 
They advertise no slip seating and tell you that when you are hired but when you are off someone else drives your truck and ends up using your tools, sleeping in your truck. Yard guy, and other drivers steal your tools. Management will not provide you with tools to perform the job, you have to buy your own tools and when they go missing, management will not replace them. 

Many of the drivers they hired didn't have the HazWoper training certificates but made them sign at the hazardous waste dump sites that they had the certificate. After this review, should you work for them, then please do. Be careful and remember its your CDL! Your timecard and your electronic log wont match, so make sure that they are paying you from your timecard, otherwise the dispatcher will pay you from your electronic log with less hours actually worked, saving the company money, because he is trying to work his way into the supervisor job is what we are thinking.

Over all MP Environmental is a great company to work for with multiple locations in several states, WA, OR, MT, UT, CA, AZ and perhaps one, or two other states. I personally saw facilities in WA, OR, MT, UT, and AZ. Most of the people are great, like anywhere else you have mostly decent people, and a few who you learn to ignore. 
MPE has nice equipment, and is maintained well enough, but could be a bit better.
Work can be local, regional, or a mix of all depending on the location you work out of. 
You might haul roll of waste containers one day, a tanker one day, a drop deck flat bed another day, and possibly an end dump.

Management is pretty decent, and differs by location. Some managers are decent people with management experience, and some are abrasive individuals of little intelligence and even less management experience, well at least one of them is. But, hey, they know all about truck drivin', ain't no job more important than that.

Most people are great, and especially the mechanics. If you get a job at MPE you wont' be sorry, just remember to take care of your mechanics, and they will take care of you.   

The new hours of service, and ELD's make you feel like you are in a race every day. If you are tired, and need to rest you can't do it, or you lose some of your time off your daily drive time, or daily hours of service, so you must keep on driving. This problem is not exclusive to MPE. This is an industry problem.

Don't get me wrong, I did learn a lot as a driver in regards to roll offs, tankers, flatbeds and earning the 40 hr Hazwopper.  But it came at a serious price of heavy workloads, high expectations, unsafe working conditions and a office with too any roosters and no hens so the stress level of such an unorganized management team that should be driving, not running a business...was extreme.

Drivers are bullied, not appreciated, and with the new rooster in the hen house, don't stay long.  

Good luck.........don't give them your best, only what they need as they will walk all over your good work ethics and break your team spirit.

This place is ok to work at if you do not have a life outside of work.
Forget about planning a trip with your family.  Sure you can ask for time off and they will give it to you... however, if a job comes up you vacation request is now revoked and you are expected to go to the job.  A lot of time the job can last a week or 2 and sometimes even longer.   They will send you out of state with only a day of advance notice.  
On a good note... some of the jobs pay prevailing wage.  Not many but at least some will.

MP Environmental is a mom and pop owned business, and the owners trust no one so they try to run it themselves. All management and supervisors are family so they spend more time fighting with each other than getting work done.The work culture is very negitive. the most enjoyable part of the job was making sales calls so I could leave the office.The hardest part of the job was it was run by family.

Mp environmental was a great place to work I started years ago entry level no haz experience. 
When I left 2 years ago I had been  the field supervisor for the company  terminal in Portland 
Overseeing and training  for a big client project  in Portland 

MPE is a great place to work. I have bin here 10 years and always have been treated fair. If you have a problem management is always willing to work with you to help you out. All the people I have met and have had the pleaser of working with are all good people and care about there employees.

I was out of Pasco Washington but have been to the Bakersfield Ca, Phoenix AZ,  Portland Or, and Everert Wa Locations. At  Bakersfield and Phoenix I was basically a stranger passing through, but they were surprisingly helpful and friendly.  They wanted to fix everything for me and booked me a motel using their pick up truck.

Great family owned company.  I love coming to work every day.  Great co-workers and management, and a good balance between work and home. Good benefits, 401K and awesome people to work for. Look forward to many more years here at MPE.  Everyone works hard, but about once a month, they will have a BBQ on a Friday, for everyone to come eat, mingle and enjoy the rest of the day off if they want.
