Most of the residents are awesome.  It isn't their fault that management is horrible.  Almost every job there starts at 7.25 an hour.  You can go to any other nursing home (even here in Knox) and start for more than that.  Your first raise won't even get you to 8 an hour.  Their help wanted ad states that they have competitive wages.  I guess they are comparing themselves to third world countries.  In that case, they're right.
Nepotism is rampant there. If you're not part of the "clan" you're ignored by many coworkers unless someone wants something from you.  Some supervisors don't want to do the jobs that they want others to do.(i.e. the way it should be done)  When they have to fill in, they do shoddy work and attempt to shift the blame to those under their supervision for the terrible job that was done.  Some people can call off or be late constantly and not get in trouble. If others, who are there every time they're  scheduled and take up the slack for those who can't bother to show up on time if at all, happen to need a day off when they are scheduled to be there,  they are written up.
 There are a few excellent people working there and they stay because of the residents who deserve way better than what they are getting. Most of the really good workers don't stay because of the pay and the culture.

I would describe myself as a very positive and hard working employee. I do my best anywhere I am and I always speak kindly about others. I couldn’t take work at Belmont Health and Rehabilitation in Columbus, IN any longer. Absolutely no communication whatsoever within the company. If you work third shift, don’t expect to hear back from management when you try to reach out with issues or suggestions. Extremely disrespectful with their lack of communication and organization as it is a vital component of forming a successful business with long term employees. The majority of management would speak very poorly of their employees. Getting your pay stubs is like trying to get a refund from a half eaten candy bar from a vending machine. Impossible. 
The only good take away from this place of employment is their growth and the residents who currently reside there. The residents are lovely people with great stories. The growth I feel they offer to their employees is due to the high turn over rate. 

Where to start. Building level staff tries hard to meet resident needs, corporate level complains that building level isn’t working hard enough and tries to tell building level how to do their jobs even though they are clueless. Department heads are given an insane amount of work to do and expected to get it done in 40 hrs. I had four full time jobs put on me. Beware! If you don’t agree with every little thing corporate expects they will start a head hunt and either fire you or force you out. They are the sneakiest, dirtiest company I’ve ever seen! If you need a quick place to get on for money this is it. Corporate tells you to hire people if they can pass a background check and drug screen. This is not the place to work if you want to better yourself.

I do not recommend this company at all. They are crooked, sneaky, and they bully their employees until they are forced to give up their lives to be there 24/7. So many things get ignored there, some, but not near all examples being like staffing ratios or actual resident needs. They do not value employees whatsoever. The attitudes of everyone were so toxic, and they do not see that employees are miserable. The best part of your day is spending time with the residents. It is very hard when you actually care about these people and management ignores you everytime you try and do something for them. No one is willing to help out and it seems like there is a constant power struggle going on.

Whether you start in the kitchen or in management there is always an opportunity to learn and advance your career. This company encourages staff to achieve their goals and continue their education and even has tuition reimbursement. Magnolia also provides classes for CNA certification, QMA certification and most recently PCA certification. I have seen several employees advance in their career that would not be able to otherwise. Friendly staff and great residents. Working through this pandemic has shown us how much corporate support we have. Nursing has had all the education and equipment they need to succeed and keep our residents safe. 

I love working at Magnolia Health Systems.  I have worked in many different departments and have been encouraged throughout each of my jobs to learn more and grow my career.  I enjoy my workplace culture and really like everyone that I work with.  Teamwork is important to us and everyone is always willing to jump in and help when needed.  I feel comfortable to bring up examples of where I think we can improve and have been able to implement new protocols and policies.  All of my superiors throughout my 7 years have been open, honest, kind and understanding with me through a variety of circumstances.  I look forward to continuing my career with Magnolia Health Systems!

They will literally lie to you from the time they find your resume on whatever job search site you have it on until even beyond your last day. If you have a decade + experience, they promise to "talk to corporate" about getting a higher wage for you, never get back to you about it, but are in such a hurry to get you started. Then you find out that as a nurse with all that experience, you make $3 more than the CNAs, and the exact same as the CMA. And they wonder why they can't keep employees?!

It is truly sad that management or the CEO of this company only cares about what they’re making. They don’t care about the employees. They don’t care about the residence. It’s all about money you work understaffed so that means proper care is not given to those residents who pay to be there . You have great staff who do their job and then you have the others who don’t care. They’re only there for a paycheck and and don’t care for the residence. You complain to management and your told you can handle it OK what about the residents who don’t get taken care of how do you handle that? How does your conscience let you sleep.

Worked behind the scenes in corporate and can tell you that they are absolutely aware of the problems at each of their facilities, but absolutely too miserly and mismanaged to correct any of them. Poor hiring process and documentation, asking to get sued in my opinion. They actively lie to their clients and employees to keep things turning. Sure, if you are breathing you can get hired at one of their facilities, but I guarantee you the base pay is a lie and you will regret it when you see the working conditions and lack of management.

Whether an employee has worked there 10 years or 10 weeks your treated the same.  Though this sounds like a pro, and normally would be, except the treatment is trash.  The company doesn't care about staff.  If  your lucky enough to make friends with upper-management you might have a decent time.  But for the every day worker the favoritism is rancid.  The CNA's are a mixed bag.  20% are dedicated and caring, and the others are just there to collect a paycheck.  But just look at the star rating of the building you don't get that low by being the best.
