Night shifts are a time when pts recover and rest from their hard work, after doing therapy, and to prepare for the next day. They usually are ready for bed early. I learned to not judge a book by its cover. All patients recovery is different, and are not to be compared to others with the same condition. When I first started working for MPH, morale was at an all-time High, now it is rather low. Partly due to many changes, (ie) insurances, salary, hours of work and bonuses. I loved how we got Christmas bonuses each year. Becuase I work on a rehab unit, the hardest part of my job was to learn to let the patients do for themselves and only help when absolutely necessary. The most enjoyable part of my job was to see a patient progress from a stroke, surgery, car accident, or brain injury, and progress to the point of going home to function on their own. MPH has a multicultural staff. I enjoy working with people from other countries, diverse cultures, and religions. It has allowed me to view the world through the eyes of another.

Incompetence, lack of caring, poor character, this describes the majority of the employees.  Maria Parham has placed value only in profits, not in ensuring good patient care, patient satisfaction or employee retention.  They are trashy and encourage other trash.  The only people in leadership (with the exception of maybe two people) are fully incompetent and have no place being in charge of anything.  There are 5 O's who run everything but their only goal is to ensure they save lifepoint enough money that they get their quarterly bonuses.  Do not go work there and try to do a good job or You will be ridiculed by staff and can not complain to management because they will just join in to bashing you and treating you poorly.  If there was ever a place to go to kill your incentive to work hard and make a difference, Maria Parham is the place.  

My typical day at Maria Parham was fast-paced, detail-oriented, and fun. It was a rare day if I didn't learn something new; either about coding stipulations, how to work denials, how best to appeal a claim, balancing my workday activities, dealing with insurance companies over the phone, and meeting billing deadlines. 

My management has been highly skilled and educated in one and people-oriented, willing-to-get-his-hands-dirty, down to earth in the other - and I prefer the latter. He never failed to make me feel like I was a worthy part of a working body. We are a family...each member caring about the other.

The work load is quite overwhelming, but the challenge keeps me on my toes...that's how I'm wired. I may NEVER be "caught up", but I strive to be.

Management has almost always been terrible. They only cared about a dollar sign not the patients. They also didn’t care about their staff but so much. The staff itself is amazing on the behavioral health units but the management isn’t. It is a demanding job due to lack of staff but the job is rewarding within itself and worth it to me. My biggest complaint would be the management. I will say the top of management like the COO CEO and CNO are all wonderful people but they’re not who you work for on a day to day basis unfortunately. 

This is One of the Worst Jobs I've ever had. Management and Staff are very, very, ecostitical. There's a lot of Cliques in the Staff. No Structure or Consistency, Very disorganized. They expect the Techs to do the Jobs of Five Personnel. A lot of the Staff have No experience in Healthcare and Frankly shouldn't be in the Field of Healthcare. They're also no balance in the Schedule meaning You don't get a lot of Off Time. Staff will Whine and Cry to Management. They allow  Patients to do what they on the Psych Unit and get away with it. If, You have Any Experience working in a Psych Unit or Frankly if You have any Common Sense DON'T APPLY HERE!!!!

What is the best part of working at the company?
Absolute worst place to work. Too much favoritism by manager and supervision.  Company and building is in VERY bad condition. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The management team and other maintenance team members. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The maintenance team as a whole are a toxic bunch of people. Only certain team members are doing the actual work, the rest sit around and hide in order to avoid working.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Doing multiple work orders while others did very, very little.

Never go to Human Resources with a problem.  They side with management and stifle the employee's complaint.  Document all interactions with management, always correspond by e-mail so that you have proof.  Have wonderful events planned for employees ie. food trucks, 10% off cafeteria.  Problem with food truck is it costs the employee at least an hours pay to purchse lunch  and takes all their lunch 1/2 hour to get the food. 

Pay was good, work was extremely overwhelming. Concerns were voiced but never taken seriously. If other offices are short staffed, you’re pulled to help. Acts as if it’s mandatory but it’s not. No real management. A lot of “lost” leaders. Gossip culture is terrible. High turnover rate. High expectations before the start of day 1. Left because of high levels of stress and effects on mental health. Just not worth it. 

High volume of patients without the staff to take care of them. 12 hour shifts with no lunch coverage or any time for a break to even go to the bathroom. Management never able to be found due to meetings or gone on a personal leave for the day. No appreciation when you go above and beyond for your department from management when it was them exactly that asked for the help.

In the almost 2 years I’ve worked with MPH I have grown to consider a lot of the staff here apart of my family. They are so kind and friendly to work around. Of course you have those but-heads like with every job that just wanna make your life harder or miserable because there’s is… but that’s everywhere. I have learned to over look them (for the most part). 

I can’t really complain about them the folks in suits are very kind.
