A typical day of work would be planned and scheduled, with everyone performing assigned tasks in order to meet deadlines, then that schedule would be destroyed by the management team to deal with fires and the work load was constantly being shifted around and increasing. A typical day at Marlyn is spent walking on eggshells and mentally preparing for the next time you're going to get disrespected. 
In terms of learning, you are on your own. They say they offer training, but all the QA department cares about is of you signed the training document - management will not spend the money or time on proper training. Everything is learned on the job and any mistakes are met with vehement disrespect. On multiple occasions I was personally asked by multiple members of management, "are you stupid?" When I didn't know something. You should expect to get in trouble for your lack of training that wasn't properly provided. This is not the company for growing your laboratory career.
Management and workplace culture were not great. The management team worked together poorly, commonly getting into yelling matches during management meetings and there was no respect shown to each other. The culture was okay in that the staff was friendly and the company held special lunches for holidays. However, management plays favorites with the staff and doesn't mind showing it - favorite employees had their birthdays celebrated by the management team and were provided cake for the team, but if they didn't like you then your birthday was just another day.
All and all, I'd say work here if you really need it, but if you want to advance in your scientific career, then I'd advise you look elsewhere.

I will start off by saying when I received this job I was absolutely thrilled. Then everything went down hill. One day I was called into the HR office with another employee about a project. To make a long story short while in the discussion of HR trying to figure out why this project was not done. A comment was made about my comprehension, because I could not figure out what my co-worker was saying to me. He had a very thick accent but I tried my best to understand and finish the project. Not to mention this project had months of work to put on a excel sheet and because I was new they put it all on me. Now let’s go back to the very insulting comment that was made, as the HR manager was asking my co-worker why the project was not done. One of the questions that was asked by the HR manager. Was “Can I read”. Clearly we all knew I could read and that was not the issue of why the project wasn’t finished. I was poorly instructed on how to work on this project with wrong information on the sheets the co-worker gave me. After we left the HR manager office. I couldn’t believe how I was insulted and disrespected. It definitely was a uncomfortable work environment after that situation for me. It made me look at the company different and I did not want to surround myself with a management like that any longer. Not too mention everyday I would get looked at like I didn’t belong there. Which was very hard but I learned to ignore it. I’ve learned that I will never let another company walk over me like this one did.

Bad management combined with bad leadership creates a toxic work environment with lack of morale. It can be as obvious as just a persistent bad mood by the CEO. Employees are unhappy from being overworked or being badly treated and then stress builds. 
Employees feel the need to keep a low profile when coming in to work to avoid the CEO. Everyone feels like they are in a “get in-get out” setting.
The CEO needs to go. There is something mentally wrong with this man.  Instead of being supportive, and involved he creates a toxic work environment. When proposing something new or innovative, it gets shot down. “I should fire you, you are lucky to have a job” are the words most if not all employees hear at some point of their employment.  People walk around with nothing but frowns, very poor moral.
Internal mobility is a joke, and serves more as an ineffective middle-man than an actual career guide and advocate to employees looking to transfer and develop their skills.
The hardest part of the job was the constant updates and "improvements" that forced employees to "figure out" how to make things work, with absolutely no training. 
The only reason I give them one star is because zero is unavailable! Do not even consider this revolving door business for employment.

This was by far the worst company I had ever worked for, I'm surprised it has not been shut down yet.  I was told when I was hired there a couple of years ago that there would be yearly performance reviews and raises.  There were neither.  I worked with people who had been there for over 10 years and they did not receive raises of any sort.  What management does instead is increase your job responsibilities.  There is a high turnover rate due to how badly employees are treated by management, mainly the ceo and president.  They resort to name calling, belittling, screaming in your face, harassing you through email, etc. to get their points across rather than being civil about anything. A typical work day is walking around in fear that you will be harassed by either of them.  The benefits are average and the pay is low. Look elsewhere for employment, this company won't last much longer.  Oh, but there is one good thing about them..they give you a week and a half off for Christmas.  Unpaid.  You will need to use your sick leave and paid time off for that.

The best part of working at the company is the opportunity to work hands-on with real manufacturing and automation challenges. There is a strong focus on continuous improvement, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration, which makes the work both engaging and rewarding.

Balancing multiple urgent projects at the same time

The culture is supportive and team-oriented. I have always felt supported by management and colleagues, especially when taking on new challenges.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
A typical day includes troubleshooting automation systems, supporting production lines, implementing improvements, and coordinating with maintenance and QA to ensure smooth and compliant operations.

My typical day at work was always very project driven in the sense that efforts were always made to reach better results - either through individual work or team work. 
Management was always readily available to provide any kind of support to the employees and there was an over-all sense of unity and "family oriented" work place. 
I would identify occasional long-hours as the hardest part of the job - but having in mind the industry and the current market for this type of products it was understandable to work overtime on a few occasions. 
The company also offers to their employees incredible benefits: health plan, dental plan, vision, 401K, pet insurance, legal insurance, short and long disability and multiple life insurance plans. 
Additionally, each employee receives a bonus at the the end of the calendar year.

I would not recommend working at Marlyn Nutraceuticals, Inc. The management is incredibly poor and focuses heavily on micromanaging every detail, which creates a stressful and inefficient work environment. Despite being in business since the 1960s, they still refer to themselves as a "small business," which feels like an excuse for their lack of professionalism and outdated practices.
The work environment is toxic, with coworkers constantly undermining each other to get ahead. Management prioritizes cutting costs over employee safety and product quality, which raises serious concerns about their overall integrity.
If you're considering applying here, I strongly advise you to look elsewhere. This is not a company that values its employees or fosters a healthy, productive workplace.

    I came to Marlyn in 2005 and was hired as a machine operator.  I learned how to blend raw ingredients to make tablets and capsules and also how to package them properly.  The management/ownership is from Eastern Europe and they do things differently than Americans do.  I made some really good friends with my co-workers.  The hardest part about the job was dealing with unpredictable machines and formulas.  The most enjoyable was how well you are treated when you perform above and beyond your required task

It is small company , very good place to work , sometime we argue with each other  but that is part of family, the president of the company help me with my confident ,i am a shy person , most of the time i do not talk because i am shy , thank to the president i am more vocal , she push me to be best i can be, and thank her, to  me the president is my mentor i am learning a lot each day . The HR manager is very nice , she will help you a lot her door always is open , she listen to everyone concern , Over all is a great company to work for . We have great diversity.
