The people who work here are okay. Some people are very rude and it is a extremely segregated environment. The facilities that they send nurses to are DISGUSTING. Being a nurse at this company the pay was decent. If you travel it is horrible being that the company does not reimburse you for tolls and gas milage reimbursement is strict. They only reimburse you for certain visits and if you are "out of your county". They will have you drive up to two hours within your county and you cannot claim it on your milage reimbursement form. Very stingy company that does not reimburse you for your time and gas.  Compared to how other Home Care companies treat there employees this is horrible. I've worked at multiple home care companies so I am aware of the big difference. They pay decent and will hire about anyone. This is a company to work for and than leave. Do not stay here get the experience and get out. They over work you and will pack your schedule. Pound you with assessments/paperwork and expect it to be submitted on time. They schedule you all day with appointments and think somehow throughout the day you will be able to complete all of the assessments.  Other home care companies pay extremely well compared to Marquis Home Care, have better benefits and will treat their nurses better! Hope this review helps!

Management, or what is there, is a joke at the best of times. The communication is non-existent whenever there are issues. There are several great people who have worked here, but they have left because of the lack of professionalism. The clients depend on us aides every day, and we do what we can, but are constantly being shot in the foot by supervisors who care less about people and more about their wallets. We are here to serve the elderly, disabled, and in-firmed. In addition, the horrid pay (barely above minimum wage) make this career choice almost impossible if you don't have an additional income. When problems happen, the staff range from "I will see what I can do" to "well what do you expect me to do about it?". I have been an aide for several years, have had the pleasure of working with multiple great agencies, but Marquis HomeCare is the absolute worst. I believe they can be so much better if they would (1) listen to and respect their employees, (2) listen to and respect their clients, (3) pay actual living wages and not nickel-and-dime every aide that comes through the door, and (4) actually learn how to communicate to their employees and clients. Until this happens, your money and time are best spent elsewhere.

The company's upper management do not answer emails or phone calls, hiding behind excuses and take no accountability for lack of people management. If you are an hourly paid employee, you do not get told you will be paid for 32hrs per week when you attend orientation, as the offices officially close early @ 1pm on Fridays all year round. You are employed for a specific function, however you are giving many other duties beyond your job .  On average the office staff have not had a raise in 3 years, this results in disgruntled employees with low productivity rate and in some cases angry and aggressive behavior towards their coworkers and extremely poor customer service.

Flexible hours, ease of nursing software charting.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Scheduler is overwhelmed. Need more continuity of care regarding patients. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Case management meetings are led by non nursing staff and are only every 3 months . Should be every week. Therefore lack of communication between nursing staff regarding patients. High turnover. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
See 6-7 patients daily . Usually start at 9 end at 4 .

I worked at a Senior Community. It's hard when you dont have a car --bus. Staff is not familiar with the area. Frustrations- having to send forms twice. There system has changed.
Sometimes difficulty with communication and a difference in timing.

Helped problem solve challenge with an elder based on an errand and the plan--a trip to the bank.
Training was in Rockland county and transportation provided.

Received Marquis gift cards -Dunkin Donuts and a different one --They  showed appreciation.

Stay away if you value your license! Policies and procedures aren't followed.  Orders don't get updated in a timely fashion.  Scheduling is all over the place.  Daily productivity is supposed to be 6 but some days you can have 3, other days you can have 9.  LPN to RN visit ratios are never followed.  New staff (with little to no experience) are being hired at higher rates then staff who have been there for years and are also offered sign on or retention bonuses.  Management can be rude and communication is virtually non existent.  

I have never worked at a place with such horrible and incompetent managers. The acting CEO is on a power trip and tries to micromanage a job that she has no idea how to do. They let good, hard working people go, but will keep incompetent people in management. Besides the intake director, upper management is a joke!  They are two faced and cliquey. They don’t reward hard workers and they make promises they don’t keep. They keep pushing growth but give you no tools or help to get there.  Do not work here if you value yourself!

RN pay is salary based and you always work more than 7.5 hr days so you are always working off the clock and not getting compensated, then they want you to pick up after hours on call responsibilities and sign up for weekend work.  I work 12 hour days with traveling, phone calls, visits, charting.  THEN...company wants you to download computer software and take trainings online.  Never got proper computer software training for orientation.  In the past 3 months they have had 4 nurses leave.

Getting paid on time the coordinate it was OK made sure if you had a problem they fixed it
