Marvel comes off as a fun and exciting place to work. However, you quickly realize how dysfunctional the company really is. They have under qualified leaders in just about every position.  In my short stint they went through 2 owners, 2 CFOs, 3 VP of Sales, 3 Division Mangers,  2 Branch Managers , and multiple Recruiters, Account Managers. Additionally, they have had a few layoffs of Support Staff.  You get the sense that nobody knows truly what they are doing and the company is getting ready to go under making it hard to trust any decisions being made. 

They have a lack of relationships with any major vendors and have practically zero direct clients making it almost impossible to get fruitful job orders making success unobtainable. Everybody plateaus at about 10-15 headcount with most of their headcount coming from being absorbed from previous recruiters. 

Overall, I’d stay clear and focus on applying to work for more reputable and stable agencies that have been in the business prior to the COVID boom. I don’t picture Marvel being in the game much longer. 

At first seemed to be an outstanding company to work for.  They backed us in a couple tough situations and the won us over.  But then we got into an abusive and neglectful facility where we got no backing and things ended bad.  Rumor had it, there was upper management in Marvel that was friends with an upper management at the facility.  True or not? Still don't know.  I do know that the abusive facility was backed by Marvel instead of me as an employee of Marvel.   I am huge on resident centered care and resident rights.  Let's just say the place I worked was not!  I really don't want to go into very many details of what abuse and neglect was going on, but it wasn't good.  I will say some was physical and lots was emotional.  Without rambling I will leave it at that.  

When I first signed on with a Marvel medical, everything was great. My paperwork was being processed immediately, nothing to worry about. And then a lot of people started quitting or being fired. All of a sudden it was hard to get communication. All of a sudden things that were agreed-upon, and signed with the contract, were no longer valid. 

If you like having people that are supposed to be taking care of your contracts, not wanting to be held responsible and get mad at you for trying to hold them responsible, this is the place for you. 

And this holds especially true if you are a minority. If you report that you are having issues, they will tell you to be quiet and to take it.

What is the best part of working at the company?
In my opinion, it is one of the best companies out here. I have been working with Marvel Medical Staffing for over two years now. My recruiter is always there if I need her and finds me the best contacts available. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Nothing! When I say there are there no matter what it is going on.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
There is a family-like environment where you can count on each other!

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
I'm a traveler so for me it's going from state to state. Walking into a new facility is always different and exciting at the same time.

When I first started. I was lead to believe I could make six figures, if I work hard enough. Reality is you will put in long hours, make thousands of calls, texts, emails and have nothing to show for it.  The market has drastically changed, especially for the nursing division. They have you push job's nobody wants. The one's they do want, Marvel doesn't have. Turnover is extremely high, practically weekly. Positions created just to be taken away.  On going issues with commission. The amount of time recruiters have to waste to make sure they are getting paid, can be a second job in its self. Even the Vice President quit.  

Marvel can reinvent themselves with a new name every day but it doesn't change how bad of a company they are. Since I left, I have been approached by dozens of employees who were stressed out because of the out of control turnover, lack of direction, lack of consistency, missing CEO, and C-suite leadership that was ruining the company. From day 1 I was stressed out and that feeling of not knowing when the next shoe drops only ended after I left. It was unsettling at best, downright hostile at its worst. 
Don't just scratch the surface if you are being recruited, look deep because it isn't the place for you.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Marvel sees every employee as a whole and not just as their job. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Smaller companies always have a lot of change but you learn to adapt. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Marvel has a culture unlike anywhere else I’ve ever worked. All of your peers and leadership are always encouraging and supporting your success. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
A typical day is laid back, fun, and happy.

Marvel Medical is an awesome company to work with. I would do it again,  as soon as I can. They did have me working in a safe pace.  My travel time to my job location was only 10 min. at most.

This place gave me a shot, with sales background, but nothing in medical recruiting.  They’ve went extra miles to ensure I understand the process, the platforms, and support me anytime I need help.  Not just a few people, but from the owners to the newest employee, everyone seems to care about each other.  Fast growing company, can’t wait for the future.

Being a part of company that started with less than 10 people and growing to almost 100 has been a fun and exciting experience. Working at Marvel Medical Staffing has helped me gain more knowledge in the marketing world. I would recommend working at Marvel for a multiple reasons but first and foremost would be the opportunity to learn.
