Managers and directors are unfit and lazy, they sit in calls on their beds while pretending to understand the culture of their department. They don't communicate  or get to know you at all and follow behind with what the managers say even if they are lies. And most of the managers are unfit for their position too. No one sees that they discard applicant after applicant not because anything is wrong with the workers but because they are horrible at managing their new hires. They quickly deplete any excitement or work ethic you have at the beginning because you slowly realize they are just mean people pretending to be matrys. Must you seek to be with a less toxic department they will insert their hand to block you from any other opportunities.  They work to be so inclusive they are actually isolating their intended demographic. Everyone seems unhappy and most teams hardly talk to one another. Yet the incompetent managers will say you don't fit into the environment simply because they don't like your personality. If you're looking to continue your career, actually care about the target demographic, want to be able to just do your job, that will not happen at MCC as its more politics and judgements. Being at MCC felt like a stiff version of high school, each day was daunting even if you liked your clients, management will make sure you hate every part of the company. You hear so many good things but if you're placed with the wrong manager from the start it'll be draining and you'll wish you waited out for a better job. Don't waste your time if you are a professional. There is no movement in this company and everyone seems unhappy. The happy people are those who make more money than you only to sit on the computer, the actual physical advocates are miserable. 

Working with the Maternity Care Coalition has been an enlightening experience, marked by long days and modest pay. Each day brings its unique challenges and learning opportunities, often reflecting the profound need for support in maternal health. Despite the low compensation, the insights gained into the complexities of maternity care have been invaluable. However, a significant downside is the lack of transparency from management regarding organizational changes, which can sometimes leave staff feeling out of the loop. The workplace culture is driven by a shared commitment to improving maternal health, making it both rewarding and demanding. The hardest part of the job is undoubtedly the emotional and physical toll it takes, given the long hours and intense nature of the work. Yet, the most enjoyable aspect is seeing the direct impact of our efforts on the lives of mothers and their families, offering a deep sense of fulfillment and purpose.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Meeting new people.
Engaging with attendees at events. 
Supporting and providing resources to families. 
Learning new and interesting information about pregnancy, maternity, and the stages of life after birth, up to three years of age. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Working with immature women. -

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The work environment and culture are educational and have room to grow within the organization .

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Outreach, case management, and referral processing (internal and external).

During a typical day of work management expect you do extra task as covering others, closing building and returning cars in addition of you regular task. They use to offer training focusing on individula professional development, however they change their protocol and now one fits all. In term of management, they have poor management in overall, employees never ar ehear and the have vias with employees. Micromanagement is the rule of the day to day life, not in one site but in all of their site crossing the agency. The people whom you work with is the one that make days easier and fun. Client are the best part of this job. Being able to be with the community and offer informtion and services is the best.

The company has multiple satellite sites all of which have their own site manager. There never seemed to be any cohesiveness between the managers. They have meetings every other month and you still don't know what exactly is going on. Lots of turn-over on every level from front line staff all the way to the CEO. The pay was ok for entry level but the stress can be overwhelming due to fluctuating standards. There was no consistency. Due to the turn-over you can make a lot of friends if you're a people person. The mission of the company is awesome and they do good work for the clients but not for their employees. If you like helping people and don't mind being paid pennies, this is the company for you.

They treated staff like children. The management team were bullies. The Management team was very rude and ignorant. They always have a great team and loose them because they are very unprofessional. That’s why they are always hiring nobody wants to work for them. They need to clean house from the front desk to every office in the building. They never keep staff because they are so rude and ignorant. They need to clean house get a new management team. It’s sad because they really loose good people. Management needs excessive training.  On how to respect your staff. 




Although this agency has been in existence for forty years or more working here shows otherwise, it seems as if this organization is in it's infancy and proves it with management, pay and culture. I believe that their mission is good and they do support families but the employees suffer with the low pay and at times the toxic environment.

Management is out of touch with the demographic they serve and they consistently fail to listen to their employees and risk their safety to gain clients.

This organization is truly amazing.  It has grown over the years; however, it still has that intimacy of a small agency.  I think that the leather shop team is very insightful, and truly hear the voice of its members.  I believe that our previous CEO’s legacy will live on through everything she has instilled throughout the years.  The new CEO is awesome, friendly and encourages the staff to reach for excellence.  Wonderful place to work I wish I never left.  

This is a non-profit organization that fills a need that the community is so desperately in need.  However, the company is experiencing some growing pains with constant turnover, low pay, and employees that are not truly valued for the work that they do. When funding is available, you are able to receive training that can help with performance. 

I have learned a lot coming into this field as a new manger.  My supervisor was great in leading and showing the management team the ways of  how to be a great leader.  

My  typical work day includes monitoring two programs that I oversee and making sure all policies, procedures and performance standards are being followed.
