What is the best part of working at the company?
It allowed me to work in a position that was terrific and I didn’t hear from them much. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The local supervisor is the worst person I’ve worked “for.”  Matrix believes everyone who works for them is a disposable number rather than a human being and if you are asked to do something for your place of work (the actual military), and you ask permission, Matrix treats you like you’re trying to cheat them or pull something over on them. They’re suspicious of everything. The supervisor may or may not read your emails, and if she does, she just glances at it, makes a snap decision that makes no sense because she didn’t bother to actually read what you said. Or, more often, she ignores it completely and doesn’t bother to answer at all. The pay was far, far below the standard. The benefits aren’t good; one of my adult kids buys theirs from the ACA and her dental was far better than mine with Matrix. Ultimately, loved the job but couldn’t stand working for Matrix. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
You’re just a disposable, replaceable number filling a space where you have the qualification for. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
They’re government contracting jobs. You work for the government/military in one of their facilities. Your work could vary dramatically depending on your position.

No ability for upward mobility . Management styles greatly affect your practicing experience as they are rotating officers and department heads . Conflict at the MTF level between contractors and / or government  civilians would lead to retaliation or targeting that there was no on site support for employees to rely on . Contracts are paid based on attendance so PTO policies often don’t even allow one to miss work without” leave without pay” approval . Little room to grow or gain access to higher paying contracts or to negotiate contracts once they are signed . There is freedom of practice though and a great ability to make marked impacts via inpatient training clinical settings . Health Benefits are very expensive although dental and vision are affordable.

New to Matrix and their Marketing space. In charge of making us even more visible to the digital masses and establishing best practices. 
The company culture is amazing, from day one I felt very secure and part of a higher mission and very supported by my team and leadership. We are constantly growing and with that, normal growing pains, but we are very good at adapting, listening, and communicating. Very much a fan of being able to easily communicate with leadership, from CEO, all the way "down" to recruiters. 

Worst idea I ever had was to chose to accept a position with this company. In the beginning it seemed great. I was able to work from home, and do something that I enjoyed. Then it all changed. The HR director at the time wanted to hang out as friends since we lived close by and this is remote position, and I have a very strict no fraternization policy with higher ups. I feel that it is never a good idea to mix your professional life with your personal life. After I declined numerous times, things changed and emails began to be more blunt and stern, as well as daily phone calls with the HR team with not so positive anymore. They were more like rants about how I was not doing things the way they wanted. I have no problem following instructions, the only issue I had was that there was never any direction or instruction. So when I would do what I thought was the right thing, I was met with distain and angst. Lastly, if you have an idea about making things run smoother or more efficiently best to just keep it to yourself, because you will be told you are wrong and things will go on as per usual.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The commission rates and minimal job duties as a recruiter, along with great company benefits. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Poor leadership, lack of employee morale, unreasonable metrics, and level of pressure from everyone to meet unrealistic expectations. Most people, especially leadership, lack morals and is either too scared to speak up to make a difference or just does what they need to keep their job. This being the easiest job I’ve ever had somehow ended up being the worst and most stressful. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Intense pressure, everyone fending for themselves, with lots of lies and immoral decisions being made. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Consistently defending myself to prove I am doing everything humanly possible to fill vacancies.

Pros: A good place to work overall.  The company offers work primarily based on government contracts, so working with veterans is very rewarding * In the office you may work with people doing the same work but for different government contracting agencies. My office team was great * You work independently without anyone looking over your shoulder or micromanaging as long as you stay current with your work. 

Cons: The owner of the government contract is essentially your “boss,” so while your direct employer is Matrix, the contracting company controls how and when you work, office policies, work load, and how long your position is needed.  The contacting company can get rid of your position at anytime and Matrix has no recourse except to end your employment with little or no notice.  So work stability is always a concern, knowing you could be terminated at any time. 



This was my first contract job in 40yrs of nursing. The AF does not treat their contractors as equals but expects exceptional team work spirit anyway. It is very strange after working in the hospital all of these years. It was not worth the wonderful schedule of days, PTO and lotsa holidays off just to be treated like a lessor human being and listen to the Active Duty AF all Rah Rah about everything. The management expects a lot and basically has poor training again as a contractor one does not get the training that one would as active duty. The people are good people but it is not a comfortable spot. Then the contract ended abruptly with no warning and no time to find a new job!!!! I hear that from a lot of contractors.

More inclusive and caring leadership needed. Foster improved morale by listening to the people who do the work vs. the brand new hired staff eager to climb the ladder. Improve transparency. Consistent and sound decision making at the top vs. continuous changes that cause disruption. The culture has drastically changed for the worse and I don’t see that leadership is interested in change. There was a time that I believed Matrix was a good and ethical company that tried to do the “right thing” but I no longer believe this is true. As a corporate employee I have received multiple requests to write positive reviews. The team at Matrix worked extremely hard to achieve what it did and so many are disappointed by the toxic and hostile work environemt, as evidenced by the many recent resignations.

I initially enjoyed working with this company.  I think the selling point is the personality of their employees and the company functions within the virtual community.  I would be concerned about profitability, due to compensatory factors in their recruitment process.  You may be asked to perform or do certain task only to be chastised for doing what you were instructed to do. Communications are okay, but can be misjudged in a virtual community.  I love the working at home aspect of the job.  However, your life as you once knew it is over.  

If you are in the medical field and are seeking employment, I would recommend, but proceed with caution. You may have issues contacting personnel to assist with your questions or issues.

The recent addition of new leadership members, combined with the efforts of some of our senior leadership, has made a significant positive impact on our ability to navigate the company’s growing pains. Their guidance and vision have been instrumental in helping us adapt and thrive during this period of change. While growth is exciting, it certainly comes with its challenges. It requires hard work and commitment from everyone involved. I’m proud to be part of a team that is fully dedicated to serving our veterans and ensuring that we meet their needs effectively. Together, we are all in, and I believe that with continued focus and collaboration, we can achieve great things for the company and those we serve.
