I had been there 6 years. When Mr. Otwell (former C.E.O.) was there things were much better. We got shift diff that started at 3pm at one pay rate and another that started on the evening shift. We got pull pay where if we were pulled off of our home floor we were paid extra to go. we got sick days in addition to PTO and we had a low employee turnover when nurses and techs had less patients. Now that he's gone and obamacare happened we no longer get shift diff or pull pay or sick time. We now get  short-term disability but it takes a  insane amount of time to get it so then it's eventually not even worth it. People are leaving in droves and we can't keep staff the patients are sicker but we're expected to take care of more of them when I started the nurses had four patients on a step down unit and now they have 6.  If you signed up to work extra you used to be able to call at a certain time and find out if your floor needed you and if they did not need you...you would be put on cost containment now if you sign up you have to go wherever they send you so now nobody wants to sign up. Also know that the techs don't get paid what they should  especially now where the economy has gotten better. It's sad it used to be a wonderful place to work.

I always considered myself a nurse and client advocate.  I believe in autonomy for nurse practice.  Look out here they seek young pliable managers that concern themselves more with administration than nurse practice or the clients they serve.  I have seen this lead to patient safety issues and undue stress on nurses.  Unit secretaries make RN schedules with no collaboration or communication with nurses themselves.  Administration management model promotes type A personalities, this should not be the standard in humanity services.  This is not an assumption, this is the focus and they state they prefer type A, they do add type B is invaluable to them.  So they pick egotists to lead compliant nurses.  Very bad deal for culture.  One thing that might shed a light on their model is they seek awards usually only used for businesses like insurance companies or factories.  I have reported all dangerous activity to Human Resources and they seem concerned and state they are investigating. I have never seen such a strong administration presence and absence of nursing influence on process and culture in my 20 years as BSNRN.

The managers, supervisors & co-workers are all great. Different areas to learn, which makes it interesting. I like that the most, usually not a boring job. Co-workers help one another in a jam. 
Just not enough employees that stay once hired. Alot of responsibility lies  on certain individuals. 
And some individuals get paid for walking around doing 2 hours of work in an 8 hour shift. 
Schedules are very uneven and unfair. Some have way too much for one person. Others dont have enough to keep them busy. The most aggravating thing is, there's not enough pay for all that is required. We literally 'defunk' the entire hospital for pay that barely gets us by for 2 weeks. New people hired in, with no experience, making more than people who's been there for 5 years. So, in a nutshell: 
Need more people
Pay depenfing on the experience before working there
Equal work amongst employees 
Re-Evaluate employees more than once a year.

This clinic is a great clinic that truly cares about their patients and employees. The office manager is great. The co-workers are great. Benefits are good. The main management for the hospital forced us to choose between a vaccine or our jobs. Then practically had us beg for an exemption, and asked for way more information than was needed when we applied for one. Once our exemptions were approved, we had "special" considerations placed on us such as mandatory testing at their discretion, additional vaccine education because we were not "educated" enough, mask wearing at all times while on the clock, and must maintain social distancing from other employees and pts. Not sure how that works in nursing, but ok. Minus all of the vaccine related issues, this was a great place to work. 

Working PRN at the urgent care centers has allowed me to see a different side of nursing as well as add to my skill set. Management is very friendly and always willing to lend a helping hand. Pay is fair for part time but I would not say so for full time staff even given the benefits package. That's really the only negative thing I can say about my employment there. They do require an extensive amount of annual training but it is no more than any other health care facility and their interactive modules make it less gruesome than ones I've experienced in the past. Typical day will see 20-50 patients between 3 nurses. Skills needed include: IV placement and drug administration, phlebotomy, manual vital signs, coordinating continuance of care and imaging. Hours of operation make it easier to balance work with family and they have a large number of float/PRN staff to help fill weekends and holidays.

I worked PRN at Maury Regional for a little over 6 months.  I left because of scheduling problems with my family.  The only thing that I did not like were the requirements that continually changed for the PRN nurses.  I moved to Tennessee from Pennsylvania last July.  the reason I took the PRN job was to have the freedom to travel back to PA to see family, plus my husband was still employed in PA.  PRN nurses at my former hospital and another on that I worked at gave the PRN nurses the ability to work the shifts they wanted and were able to schedule their days without requirements.  At Maury, we had to work so many off shifts and so many weekends, plus holidays. The freedom of working PRN is the only benefit that you have.  I did not have health, dental, or vision benefits, or accrue vacation or sick time.

Workplace was very clique, people would try to push work on you when you was on a call through the workplace chat. They let the other nurses' and doctors staff cuss us out on the phone but done nothing about yet we couldn't talk to them like they did to us. Staff would find anything to complain about over the phone because we would hear about it in team meetings later on in the week. The work eventually got very repetitive and got tired of the same people calling in not learning how to fix their own issues. Getting woke up before 7am on Sunday morning just because a nurse can't remember their password needs to change as well, they should have a self serve portal for that by now instead of calling the on call person for that and keep that line clear for ACTUAL emergencies like the network going down, etc.

Management is always making things more difficult for their staff. Unless you sit in an office all day, your work day is going to be hard, stressful and sometimes unrewarding. Rules constantly change making it hard to have a system in place. Lots of lazy people work here. The constant rule changing makes things more difficult for the physically working staff and easier for the office sitters. There's no respect, no trust and people are always pushing the blame on smaller departments. You're expected to do tasks that don't fall into your job description, you must do it whether you know how to or not unless you want to face the consequences of saying no. The food quality is poor and extremely over priced, even for employees. Your pay doesn't equal the amount of work that you have to do on a daily basis.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The place is ok, in dietary  you had too many people  trying to be bosses, and the atmosphere became extremely  toxic, and HR wasn't any help either

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
You work there for many years , and barely  got a raise, but new people coming in didn't  have any experience,  but made more money than the ones who have been there for years

Toxic, stressful,  blood pressure  problem anxiety problem

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Depends on who is there if the director or cafeteria  supervisor  was there it was gonna be stressful and probably not good

My day is typically filled with fielding questions and providing guidance to others within the organization. There is a culture in place that allows me to speak freely sharing my ideas, thoughts and opinions which I feel are heard and taken into consideration. I have learned so much about this industry and how a rural community hospital is not only vital to the people of Maury and surrounding areas, but also to the many different workforces provided in this region. The most enjoyable part of my job is the conversations in downtime with my teammates and convincing others how/why the wage/hr. is not the only reason to select a career, organization, or company.
