Veredgard is a third-party medical claims administrator owned by MedImpact. However, this relationship is not clearly communicated on the careers page, where job postings from both MedImpact and Veredgard appear together. The only way to discern which company a position belongs to is often by the job location—typically San Diego, CA for MedImpact and Tempe, AZ for Veredgard.

The Account Managers were consistently supportive, and I appreciated the collaborative spirit within our department. However, cross-departmental collaboration was often challenging. In many cases, team members in other departments were reluctant to acknowledge mistakes or provide the necessary support. This lack of accountability frequently led to situations where I had to resolve issues on behalf of my client that stemmed from incorrect information or subpar service provided elsewhere. The time and effort required to correct these oversights and reach resolutions were often disproportionate and avoidable.

While I had a clear understanding of my responsibilities and focus in supporting the client, it became evident that there was a disconnect in expectations between myself and my manager, particularly when questions were raised about how my time was being allocated.   It was very clear there were mountains of issues happening on a daily basis, but a blind eye was turned to the seriousness of the issues and time/attention taken to reach resolutions.

There was a noticeable lack of HR support, which led to unclear goals and performance evaluations being delayed by as much as six months. Management appeared to prioritize sales over employee development, often reinforcing the idea that without sales, we wouldn’t have jobs. While corporate messaging emphasized a commitment to 'investing in their people,' these statements were not reflected in action and merely words on paper.

It was, regrettably, one of the most challenging work environments I’ve experienced. Many talented colleagues seemed hesitant to seek better opportunities, possibly due to a lack of confidence or fear of change, which made the situation feel even more disheartening.

PROS: A few hardworking colleagues who did their best under the circumstances.
CONS: Many of the systems in place were outdated and prone to frequent breakdowns, which made even basic tasks frustrating and inefficient. Communication across teams was often inconsistent, and feedback—when offered—was typically dismissed in favor of other priorities. There appeared to be little genuine effort to improve internal processes or demonstrate that employee input was valued. For example, employee survey results were never shared, which further contributed to a sense of disconnect and indifference from leadership and HR.



There are some very high quality, reliable people who work here. Then there’s management. Every aspect of the departments and company seem unnecessarily secretive.  Managers that create silly ways to turn the mundane into a micromanagement smorgasbord.  Which  would be tolerable if management actually knew or cared what their employees do.  Instead, teams are demoralized - stagnated in inefficient processes (which there is NO training on!  There are no procedural documents, how-to’s, or policies on how workflow operates!).  Tough when the only feedback given is negative - how are employees supposed to succeed with no support?  Attempting to go above management is a joke - some directors and heads of departments are ghosts.  As in living in a different state, takes MONTHS to respond to emails, doesn’t answer their phone and has a department team meeting once every 6 months.  Disheartening and disappointing.  There are some great managers, and great coworkers...but it’s sad that one begins to notice that these are the diamonds in the rough.  Transparency, honesty, integrity, inclusiveness, teamwork... all are missing from the culture of the company. 
What else to expect when the president swindles his own employees’ investments to fund his ego-contest of a divorce.

My experience at MedImpact/Verdegard was extremely discouraging. I came in excited to contribute and do meaningful work, but the environment quickly proved to be disorganized and unsupportive. 

The biggest challenge has been management. My direct manager and their supervisor created an atmosphere of micromanagement, inconsistent expectations, and little to no accountability for their own actions. Communication is often unclear, and when concerns are brought up, they were dismissed. It’s difficult to feel successful when leadership focuses more on control than collaboration. 

There’s also very little transparency or trust. Priorities change constantly without explanation, and employees are often left to figure things out on their own. When issues arise, rather than addressing them constructively, management tends to respond with blame or avoidance. The silent treatment is common, and something I noticed within my first few weeks.

I’ve worked in demanding roles before, but the culture here made it nearly impossible to do good work or feel valued. I truly hope MedImpact takes a serious look at its leadership culture and how it treats employees - especially those who come in wanting to make a difference.

The training is unorganized and unstructured, You are put on the phones before you are fully trained, communication and management is beyond petty. Pretend to be understanding and then use it against you when you’re trying your hardest to do something, you weren’t even trained to do, supervisors are a joke as well as their manager, they may say to you that they want you to succeed yet actions will show quite differently, will be many days of zero face to face communication with supervisors and instead they send email blasts, seemed like they would rather maintain office gossip rather then hinder it, they will pick and choose who to micromanage meanwhile several coworkers can be observed & heard standing around chit chatting with others about personal life issues. When Directors come visit Tempe office they walk in all high and mighty and talk down on you, very rude and unprofessional. This is the worst and most unprofessional workplace all around. Out of each training class of 20 people only 4 will survive and eventually will also leave because Medimpact has no core values and they don’t appreciate their employees I feel bad for them as they all looked miserable. 

You get hired in through a temp agency Aerotek. They want you to get the job so they get money from hiring you for the job. After you start, their attitude towards you gets unprofessionally poor. You get treated like cattle rather than human. If you are late once, expect to be yelled at no matter what emergency happened. If your are late twice, (I mean 1 minute after you are scheduled) expect to get fired or yelled at again and fired the next time. Mandatory overtime is required at times which means 10 hour days. You could have an awful schedule of nights and weekends. They do not care if you have a family or children. Absolutely no accommodation. Some temps have been there over a year still waiting to be hired, so do not expect to get hired in quickly. Aerotek also does not pay holiday pay, so if you are forced to work holidays Medimpact employees will be making more than you for doing the same work. Do not get lured in by $16/hr starting pay, it is not worth it there are far better companies that actually care about you as a human being with a life.

You'll start from a temp agency and depending how the company feels about you, you could be a temp for six months to a few years. This means you're on a probation period and could be let go for any reason. During this time you will have no pto and only the benefits provided by your agency. If you're getting hired for the call center, you're only expected to last a few months to a year as turnover is high. Any other department and you'll be dealing with middle management that does not know how to manage. Most of the leads and supervisors are summed up as the blind leading the blind. Everyone is an expert at their job yet nobody knows how to do it. This also means that training is a joke. The office politics are comparable to being back at high school. As far as advancement, forget about it. There is no logic behind what constitutes a promotion. There is mandatory overtime and when it's implemented it could be 10 hour days, 5 to 6 days a week, for up to six months. This a very dysfunctional place, so if you're a very dysfunctional person, then maybe this is the job for you.

As a customer service rep, you are expected to answer calls all day. They are inbound calls from members, doctor's offices and pharmacies. It is somewhat challenging to learn everything, but once you become more knowledgeable, it is not that difficult. Some escalated callers can be difficult to handle, especially if you take it personally and lack customer service and de-escalation skills. It is very good pay for the level of skill that it requires. There are metrics to meet- adherence, quality audits, call quality and attendance. Processes change frequently, which can be challenging. There is a progression to a level II CSR that comes with a pay increase, but there are not many other opportunities for advancement, especially for the Michigan location. 

Worse than most terrible jobs because this place actually gives you false hope. You can be content working there AND doing a fantastic job and it's still utterly hopeless to get officially hired--let alone growth/promotion. Standards and metrics are constantly shifting and literally impossible to satisfy; it becomes a game of finding which things you're meant to ignore and which ACTUALLY matter. And that is still subject to constant change. And you get absolutely 0 credit for excelling--nobody is even watching that so don't bother doing an above average job unless it's reflected on paper in your stats. 

After many months of compliments and good customer feed backs and the only one not being late ever or without any occurrences out of the whole company still got let go for errors that I did not know that I was doing, monthly meetings are done to review our progress and got compliments. There is no support and only  favorites get promoted . Unless you are perfect and make no mistakes I wouldn’t recommend this job . I should have seen the red flags. Companies that are always hiring are always firing as well.my mistakes was transferring senior citizens who did not know how to get to the correct Que , I was told I was avoiding calls for having outbound calls when those calls where to get help support or transferring members . Being a call center their is no time to stretch or bathroom breaks past 15 minutes so if you have a bathroom emergency you will get fired . I started having neck spasms because it was either use your time to get the bathroom or stretch.

Manipulated enough to be under the assumption of advancement opportunities. I stuck it out for 2 years and I have gone through 6 managers. This company provided absolutely no support other than "send an email to HR". I would say that by BIGGEST peeve is that as an employee- you have to have PTO in the bank to be able to use sick time as SHOULD you get actually sick... that ALSO will be marked against you "Occurrence", court, jury duty or whatever legitimate and PROVABLE documents- expect this to be marked against you also and you are only 'ALLOWED" so many 'occurrences'. Yes, they do offer 'paid sick time' but you have to have PTO to cover the days/shifts. Benefits available? Yeah, but you have to pay for it yourself.  ALSO be WARNED: they do NOT take out for Federal taxes so come tax time, expect to OWE.
