Check the CNO calendar for each day, set appointments, interviews and conferences. Also assist with the nursing and patient care staffing. Attend meetings and take the minutes, type the minutes and submit for approval during the next meeting. Take phone calls and emails from various people. Track our PRN nurses due to a program set in place. Submit various paperwork to Human resources. Responsible for payroll for clinical directors and case management. Assist various departments with payroll when they are unable to submit their own payroll.

What is the best part of working at the company?
You meet some really nice people and learn a lot.  My position was very educational and I/we helped lots of people in need. Unfortunately our department/clinic closed down.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Some of the people and the pay.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Very rural. That’s all I got, I did find new employment before they ran out of funds and started the lay off process.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Very busy from the time you get there until the time you leave.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The people are great to work with! The doctors are great! The place needs an upgrade! More specialties more surgeons new equipment! Things like that!

No help always short staff. New management seems not to know how to talk to staff and realize we make the hospital run!

Everyone knows everyone! We know each other and our community!

I haven’t been there in over a year

MOST of the co-workers are wonderful!! Hospital is ALWAYS clean. Discount for lunch for all employees and FT employees for out patient testing done there. Doctors are amazing!!! ER is fast paced and always interesting! Out patient testing can be very busy especially on certain days. Management is OK-needs some work. Short staffed due to hours being cut when the census is low (number of patients admitted) and definitely under paid for the amount of work you do. I hope all this changes ASAP.

probably the best group of guys and gals you'll ever work with.  technology is behind the curve here, but not overtly so.  you'll see some of the sickest patients ever while you work here.  the surrounding community would be really hurt without that hospital.  I really felt like I made a difference while I worked there.

THIS HOSPITAL TENDS TO BE VERY BUSY, THE RADIOLOGIST ARE PRETTY PICKY BUT YOU GET USED TO WHAT THEY WANT AND HOW TO KEEP THEM HAPPY. MANAGEMENT IS DEPENDABLE AND HELPFUL. CO WORKERS ARE VERY FRIENDLY AND EVERYONE PULLS THEIR OWN WEIGHT. THE HARDEST PART IS KEEPING UP WITH THE WORKLOAD WHEN YOU ARE WORKING ALONE. INTERACTING WITH THE STAFF AND DOCTORS IS ENJOYABLE.

I've learned a lot at Medical Center Barbour Athena, Med-host, I heal and quadax systems. Working with this company is very challenging especially in the clinics there are a lot of patients with special needs and the require a lot of one on one contacts. I really love working with the patients.

This facility is a great place for a new nurse to gain skills but they need to work on there orientation. Classroom orientation is wonderful. Floor orientation sucks. During orientation sometimes you have as many patients as a nurse that's been there for 5 years. The nurses are very helpful. The secretaries are helpful.

Yes, there are problems. But, they are being addressed.  A new CNO that cares for her staff, a new Med Surg director that is on board.   New equipment and supplies are either on order or have been delivered.  

This job was only PRN however I had been promised that was just to get me in door that it was  desired to make me full time. I have 2 years experience in Athena medical program. Myself & my  immediate  supervisor where the only 2 people that knew how to do this program. They let us both go.
