First off if you are reading this while looking for a great company to work for please read this to it's entirety.  I was down on my luck in December of 2016 I found Medical Guardian on indeed.com. It was a Sales position to be Life Safety Consultant. I never been on 100 percent commission before but I stepped out on faith and it paid off!  

First off the Atmosphere when you walk in the door is so positive you can't help but be encouraged that you ran into the right place. You can tell that the people in all departments care about protecting lives, keeping a family presence and have that Love inside them to help you with anything you need. 

My managers from day one in training wanted me to succeed and always have my best interest at heart. I had a few personal bumps in the road and when I let them know they did everything they can to be there for me. The CEO Geoff Gross is a awesome, down to earth type of guy! He makes sure he meets and shake hands with everyone that walks in his door. I never been to a job where the owner will have lunch with the people in training! From the events he puts together for his employees to the lunches that is provided this is a company that says to (Thank You For Your Hard Work!)

To be a young company Medical Guardian is heading in the right direction on how a company is supposed to run.

Was good in the beginning when we were properly staffed. Managers are kind, always available to help, and the company, within reason, listens to customer/employee complaints and try their hardest to find solutions. But now they're micromanaging, just a little, when we take too long to do things and it's stressful. We're constantly being cursed out by customer's (which they can't help so that's not a fault of the company, and we're not obligated to put up with abuse) but piled with the slight micromanaging is...it's a no from me.
But if you can handle that, which most can, go for it. Once staffing isn't an issue, then that problem will go away, which is my only gripe with this company. The pay is decent, the benefits are okay, you can work from home and there isn't a single manager or coworker that I dislike. Also, they prefer to promote within the company, so VERY rarely will you ever have to compete with someone who knows less about the company and its functions than you. I don't like our PTO/Request off system, but with this type of job and the staffing issue it makes sense. One of the better companies I've ever worked for. I've actually seen the CEO multiple times in meetings, and if you work on site, you'll see him in person and he remembers the faces and names of his employees, which is great. He visits the other locations often. So, it's definitely nice that the higher ups are around and present.

A typical day in the Rentention Department begins with me walking through the door being greeted by my co workers with smiles. The comradre between Sales and Rentention is awesome. I have learned great patience and excellent Customer Care skills via great Managers and Supervisors that are always available and very approachable. 

The entire workplace culture is "family oriented". My daughter was admitted into the hospital and I came to work that day to honor my obligation to my team. My Supervisor insisted that I clock out and go to be with my daughter. The different shift hours provide for a great life/work balance.

I am a part of the Cancellation/Retention team. The hardest part of my job is having to cancel accounts due to death and hospice. They make me a little sad.

The most enjoyable part of my job is being a part of the #1 Medical Alarm company. I save accounts with pride knowing I just helped save a life. Customers call each day with stories of how our systems helped them. My efforts are recognized and rewarded. That makes me feel good each day.

Medical Guardian has truly been a great company to work for and the supervisors/management all the way to the upper management is so wonderful, helpful and caring of all their employees! The company culture, standards and values are unlike anywhere I have ever worked. It is refreshing to work somewhere that you truly feel valued and appreciated. Not only that, but Medical Guardian is *always* coming up with new ideas to make work more fun. From company events (luncheons, snacks, water ice etc.) celebrating holidays, sports events, milestones.. to the raffles and contests, bonuses, etc. there is always something else fun that we can all participate in and look forward to and lots of cool prizes! I think its great how awesome everyone is and that they go above and beyond to make work a more fun place to be! Medical Guardian is not just a typical call center where the work can feel repetitive or boring... yes, there can be days like that but that's anywhere. I love this company and what they stand for. It doesn't matter what your position is here, if you do your work you will get recognized, feel appreciated and have the chance to win cool prizes or gift cards!!!

A typical day at work involved answering inbound/outbound calls in a high volume call center providing assistance with medical devices ranging from activation, technical support, updating client accounts with billing, service agreements, etc with minimum training(2 weeks). I learned to teach myself and ask various questions to become well informed due to poorly rushed training. Experience with management depended upon whom you were assigned to(some inpatient/annoyed or unprofessional). Rewarding took place constantly but not given to people that truly provided excellent services and worked hard, more so based  favoritism of employee.The workplace culture the CEO tried to continuously implement was fun, active, engaging atmosphere. The hardest part of the job was communication between department managers and being on the same page with policies and procedures. The most enjoyable part of the job was the perks! Occasionally free breakfast/lunch, free coffee, opportunities to volunteer and take part in events.

I moved my family from Massachusetts to work for a company that promised 50k+ annually for a Sale's position. They do not provide the tools nor do they train you to do the job how they would like it done. The position is commission based, however, there are rules and restrictions that should only apply to someone who is being paid a base salary or hourly wage. Their ethics and morals are driven by greed. They're inconsistent and rely on outdated technology to tend to ever-evolving clients. The company has quadrupled it's Sales reps, however, they haven't hired any customer service reps to tend to it's vastly growing consumer base, causing clients to cancel their service. When a client cancels their service due to lack of customer service reps and/or unavailable customer service reps, the Sales rep is hit with a chargeback. The company keeps the money, the rep is charged what the company should be charged for, and you're essentially working for free. The company cares about money, which isn't wrong, but they do not value their employees nor do they value their customers.

I have been with the company for about a year and they are growing very quickly since I have been here.
This was my first "all commission" based job and I was not aware of how the pay would be but once I got to learn about the systems and services, I was much more confident with everything. There is a lot of money to be made here if you know how to sell and learn the material. 
There are responsibilities that you have to make sure you take care of on a day to day basis but which job does not have that.
As the company is growing, they are going through many changes and mostly for the good. The location is prime with a great view of the city.
They offer ok benefits but not great(medical especially).
There usually are free lunches, cakes and other events where you will have enough opportunities to fill up you belly.
An awesome Christmas party at the end of the year which is a must see and the CEO(Awesome guy) takes the whole office to a sports event and invites folks to other events throughout the year.

A typical day at work is assisting customers with device activations, reviewing billing information and answering any and all questions from the customer or their children. The supervisors here give you so much support as well as your teammates! Communication is key!  The best part of my job is the different people I speak with on a daily basis, every person is different as well as their needs-you never know whose day you're making better just by being a listening ear and a having a friendly voice. The hardest part of this job is speaking to a person who has lost their loved one-by far the hardest thing I've had to hear while being here it's heartbreaking every time. You are given the tools to succeed so you are in charge of your destiny at MG, and you can ask anyone for help and you'll get it. 

The culture is laid back in regards to the type of call center this is, every rep is passionate about helping customers and their loved ones get setup and helped out and I believe that's what makes us stand out!
