I was a case analyst and my job was to organize and manage denied insurance claims. My work was reviewed by case fulfillment and if everything was fine then it would be sent to the doctor I selected who would then review it.

Pros:
I did love working from home and they supplied all of the equipment you need (except for your internet service) and this was great. The work itself is repetitive but sometimes you would gain interesting insight into the insurance and medical worlds.

Pacing:
Your work was very closely monitored which makes you feel micromanaged (you are tracked for mistakes and how many cases you completed per day).This tracking created an expectation of very fast work pace which was difficult to meet. I felt like I had to decide between getting bad marks from a manager or giving a case the attention it actually needed. I think a lot of the cases are not getting the time and attention that they deserve. I would be extremely concerned if I found out that someone in my family had a medical case sent here because the extreme pacing of this job. When I worked here, sometimes the doctors would have a case back to you 30-70 minutes later when it was a 250+ page case. 

They very badly needed to hire more people. It felt impossible doing 3 cases that were all due in 1 hour. Instead, you should have had maybe 1 rush case per hour at most.

Hours:
Another issue was that you frequently stayed well over your shift. Scheduled for 8 hours and getting off at 5? Don't make plans for before 7 because you're going to be here for 10-11 hours sometimes. After training you also work weekends occasionally.

Management: 
When I first started I had a lot of support from my management team but some of the managers left and there wasn't enough support. It's a challenging job and you need help sometimes. In my opinion, this isn't the fault of the managers specifically because I think the managers also were stretched too thin and we definitely needed more.

Pay:
Lastly, the pay is completely unfair. I have had other jobs for $15.00/hour that were much more laid back. This job really ought to pay closer to $22.00/hour for the responsibility and work load, or they need to reduce the workload. In today's economy, $18/hour really is the base level you should be paid, and this job is very high paced and definitely should be higher than that. They don't tell you this in the interview but you will be doing lots of phone calling as well. The CEO always loved to talk about how we were exceeding profits from the previous quarter in our meetings so there is no excuse for the pay.

If I could have continued the position part-time I probably would have kept the position but doing it full-time, especially with the regular over-time, was too stressful.

MRIoA is a great place to work if you do not care if management communicates, trains, or is available. Most employees in management are only in management because of the time invested in the company. Not because of their skills. If you learn only through negative feedback, then this is the place for you. There is a complete lack of positive feedback, energy, and culture, and it is an extremely competitive environment (to the point where friendship and team work are non-existent). MRIoA has a long list of ethical statements in their mission that are LOOSELY followed. Even if you earn the ability to work from your own home, there is no autonomy as the managers only know how to control and micromanage. The pay is competitive, but low job satisfaction is not worth any amount they can give you. There are no opportunities to move up in this company, no matter how driven and willing to learn you are, as all upper management has time for are meetings. There culture is purely clique-based and production and quality benchmarks are met individually and not as a team. Also, don't even bother letting management know that you'll be leaving or would like to change your schedule, etc. as they will take it as an aggressive move and let you go that exact day by telling you that they don't owe you anything (no matter how long you've worked there) and don't need you anymore. It's no wonder their turn-over rate is high as employees are treated as indispensable, no matter how good you are at the job.

When I first started working here they were on overtime everyday . No surprise they had like 11 employees and easily 100s of cases in the que everyday. Finally after months of the supervisors begging and them constantly saying we are taking new clients they hired a couple more people . The training is not consistent so some people be in training for a whole year so it’s no help  they can’t take the cases anyway. Management brags about being inclusive and flexible and easy to work with but they are not . Complete lie. They will let certain people call and say they will be late and they won’t get in trouble but even if you constantly stay over and help out heaven forbid you 1 minute late . And you are wrote up especially if certain supervisors don’t like you . If you want to be overworked treated ok when they need you to work overtime but any other time treated poorly and a unorganized constantly taking new clients even if you not trained on them , and Mediocre company for like 15 a hour go right head and apply . Or seek employment elsewhere 

The company as a whole was created on core base values which seem to have followed through to part of the company as it has grown, but has not been in place in the case fulfillment department. While this may become a better workplace through the recent recognition of the CEO that his company is not what he has meant it to be, it is currently NOT ideal. There is an extreme underlying and unspoken expectation that you are willing to give up your life outside of work to stay and work continual overtime, there is very little to no job advancement, the managers of this department are fake and they are dishonest at every level, and there is a lot of blame placed on this department throughout the company with no accountability on other departments or  management for issues. 

The CEO is truly genuine in his desires and is willing to listen to his employees. There are just very few who feel that they can speak up without repercussions.

What is the best part of working at the company?
I guess working from home if that’s your thing. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Management. Taking on too many customers too fast. Overloading employees. Favoritism. “Secret” bonuses for favorite employees. People being put in management positions that have no managerial experience. The workload is ridiculous, often there is mandatory overtime. So much negative feedback and hardly any positive feedback. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It’s high stress!  Extremely high stress and fast-paced. Now that it’s fully remote it’s very hard to get to know your coworkers because the company doesn’t put any effort into coming up with ways to engage with each other. Supervisors are in meetings all day every day and when they are available, they’re so crazy busy they don’t have time to help with anything.

I've enjoyed working at this location however required overtime has become more and more common. 

During 2021 overtime was required daily for the majority of the year. Overtime is still required depending on how busy the queues are. You can come into work on day for your regular 8 hour shift and then be told that you have to work 2 hours overtime the next day. Usually 2 or 3 days per week have required overtime.

Pay raises are very poor, for a company that boasts about profits and always taking new clients and then only being given a $0.60/hour raise for your yearly review when you meet/exceed performance expectations is pretty insulting.

Haven't had any issues with management and have been able to reach out to them to get any questions/concerns answered. And the majority of the team is friendly and helpful. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
Management is great! Workload is reasonable.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
For me the company is a MT zone based company, and I live in EST zone. I have been able to have some flexibility with scheduling.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
All inclusive, family-like. Very welcoming. It is not harsh and mistakes are a learning experience.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
My day is pretty routine day in and out. There isn't too many changes. I review insurance claims. There may be changes to policy and procedure, but otherwise it's the same.

When I first started working at MRIoA, it was an amazing company to work for. I felt very appreciated as an employee. In the past year or so, everything at MRIoA has plummeted. The management, the appreciation, the satisfaction, etc. The management communication is terrible, they show very little appreciation for their employees, and they are full of unkept promises/promotions. The benefits they provide are the bare minimum. Overall they are EXTREMELY short staffed and they have a very high turnaround rate. While I enjoyed the first year of my employment, I would no longer recommend this as a place to work to anyone.

I love my job and this company!  I have never worked for a company that provides as much training and support and truly cares for their employees as much as MRIoA does.  Unfortunately there are some who complain (like the RN who posted a comment, who unfortunately never made the effort to truly understand what this company does and made very inaccurate statements).  Fortunately, there are MANY happy employees here who believe in hard work and making a difference in patient's lives!  If you want to work hard and be rewarded for it, this is the place for you, if you want to play around, chit-chat and be on your cell phone all day, this won't be the place for you.
