Typical day for the customer service worker wasworking the register, returning things to stock and answering phones. I did the opportunity to fill perscriptions some weeks. We were understaffed so there were days that I worked the register alone with an occasional hand from a couple of colleges.  I felt management didn't really care or appreciate my efforts. 
They were pretty flexible with giving days off which was nice. 
They do have favorites, which lead to overlooking the mean girl who felt the need to be rude to others for no reason. We are learning and do not need to have things thrown at us with and attitude because you are having a bad day, K. 
The owner was barley there, but had time to come in and scold us for not doing our chores. I'm sorry for not dusting when I had plenty of other tasks on top of handling the lines all day. 
I did learn alot about pharmacy which will be valuable in my future. 
Just wish they had cared more about their hard working staff. 
The manager barley said 3 words to me on my final days but she was nice overall. The other pharmacists were nice too. Just a little nit picky about me not showing customers how to use things. (Which of course I wouldn't mind doing if there was not a line stacking up while I was by myself) Also coming straight to me if there was a mistake that I didn't cause was not appreciated.
Overall most everyone was nice to work with and I will miss them. I just wish they had decided to hire more people before I left, to make the load a little less for the current employees. 

Working at The Medicine Shoppe was one of the best learning experiences ever. I learned how to compound and found out I am really good at it and really enjoy it. I would love to go to a PCCA class and do one of their certification workshops to solidify my knowledge. All learned all of the following:

•	Worked in the compounding lab using formulas to make suspensions, capsules, dermatologic products, Lansoprazole and Omeprazole, nasal sprays, suppositories, pain management products, troches, animal treats, bio-idential hormones, and hormone replacement therapies, along with many other specially requested customized medications.
•	Helped develop a system of stocking bases for many sub formulas that were included in the overall formulations of a popular area doctor’s dermatological products
•	Cleaned the sterile room and laminar flow hood
•	Ordered Inventory from PCCA and Medisca
•	Performed duties out front, such as entering, counting, and dispensing prescriptions, mailing out and preparing orders for delivery, entering in patient profiles and maintaining them, as well as dealing with insurance companies
•	Worked on compounded medications for various doctor’s offices and surgery centers
•	Organized and maintained stock of compounded ingredients

Despite all it's bright points the owners required the compounding technicians to work 9:30 AM - 6:00 PM everyday, no exceptions, made taking classes, especially science courses that require labs, extremely difficult.

I work Monday- Friday anywhere from 9am-6pm or 9am-4pm and two Saturdays a month 9am-1pm, closed all major holidays. I usually spend my day answering phones, bagging prescriptions, waiting on customers, counting prescriptions, and refilling prescriptions in the computer, managing inventory at the end of the work day. While working at The Medicine Shoppe I have learned how to work with the public and assist the customers needs, the names and uses of many prescription and over the counter medications, and how to work together with my coworkers to keep the work place friendly and professional.As far as management, I manage the inventory for the store ensuring that we are stocked with the appropriate items and meeting our target budget. My boss is reliable and flexible. As well as easy to approach. The coworkers are great! They are helpful, professional, and we work well together in order to have a productive work day. The business is a small town pharmacy so the hardest part of my job is turning away a customer in need when we do not have an item in stock, usually because it is to expensive to keep on the shelf. The most enjoyable part of my job is when we satisfy our customers because of our efficient service and the polite, respectful environment that we provide.

1.lack of acknowledgement when going above an beyond.
2.constant criticism (not constructive)
3. before work meetings where supervisor would be late or cancel last minute when pharmacy techs were already there.
4. atmosphere did not feel like an understanding family type.
5. supervisor had lack of empathy towards a person or a person's family emergency when they needed to leave. Then would use the lack of attendance against them in their performance review.

6. was allowed to take a longer lunch if no workflow was slow and if it is was for school work.
7. supervisor would bring in birthday cake for coworkers birthday
8. if supplies were needed, supervisor would order right away.
9. on slow days, they were considered catch up days but they were always filed with coworkers share funny stories and the supervisor joining in

On a typical day, I would receive prescriptions from the walk-in patients, as well as over the phone, the computer and the fax machine. I follow an organised work flow system, making sure that there are on mix ups or errors. I would speak to the patients about their medications, interact with caregivers as well as physicians over the phone. It was always a pleasure supervising and working with the techs. I made sure that the drugs were reordered, while keeping an eye on the inventory.                                                                             The hardest part of the job was taking care of shortages because it  takes time to explain  to patients about  what is going on and sometimes call the warehouse or doctor's office for substitution.          The most enjoyable part of the job was positive patient feedback and when people show appreciation for what I did for them.

Set up computers process and print out all prescription's from over night that morning. Take in any new prescriptions type and fill and wait on customers. Talking with doctor's offices on incoming prescription's . Customer service is a job in its self that requires a lot of patient and courtesy. Figuring out insurance issues and making the customer happy. Answering phones and helping solve problems is also an important part of day. Hardest part of the job is when a customer is rude and insulting and trying to keep them calm and resolve all of there issues. The most enjoyable part of the job is seeing people on a daily basis who you know and who you became to know and having a nice conversation with them. Making the customer smile and is pleased with your job

The typical day was the following: all medication from nursing home were filled and blister packed.The medicine had to be done in a timely manner so they could be delivered before lunch. During this time customers came in and we would fill their prescriptions as well. The work culture was high performing.The hardest part of the job was having patient accounts. Trying to get customers to pay was the least enjoyable part of my job.The most enjoyable part was filling long term care prescriptions and the hours were perfect ie:allowing time off for the family in the evenings.

Most of all I enjoyed the patients.  Working with different indiviuals helping to meet their needs. Sometimes that could be a challenge but I like a good challenge. I learned something new everyday about customer, policies or medications. We were a pretty family oriented company we had trips together and for the holidays we always did something,even for Halloween we would all get our kids together cook out and go trick or treating. The hardest part of the job for me was not being able to help someone when you know they trully need the help, but working in a pharmacy puts you in those type of situations for a number of reasons. I always did my best to approach those times with kindness and understanding.

Communicating with patients to provide them the best healthcare is the most important aspect to the Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy.  A typical fills about 200 prescriptions.  In addition to filling orders, the pharmacists (and interns) counsel patients on medications, audit inventories and complete daily business orders.  Pharmacists and technicians work closely together to care for each patient.  This pharmacy is also an APPE site for Outpatient Clinical Care;  about 10 students rotate through during their APPE year to provide clinical services to patients.  Services include blood pressure monitoring, cholesterol screenings, glucose screenings, MTM services and diabetes education classes.

Working at Medicine Shoppe was a pleasure. A typical day at work was so busy it was time to close up shop before i knew it. I started with Medicine Shoppe when it was an open door pharmacy and learned to work with the pharmacist greeting customers, checking their profiles and preparing their meds to be checked by pharmacist. We later became a closed door pharmacy and I learned to blister pack and label meds for our facilities. My co-workers and I worked together and respected each other. The hardest part of the job was when we switched to LTC and learned a new computer system and how to label and pack their meds. The most enjoyable part of the job was the compliments we received from the LTC patients and staff for a job well done!
