I have worked in better hospital systems where it doesn't feel like everyone talks behind one another's back. Also the system is completely broken and unmanageable too leading to common circumstances where no one knows who to contact for the problem at hand because the code and phone systems are outdated. Then when that one random thing you were asked to do occurs again 6 months later and you have to ask for help as to how to do it again you'll get treated like an imbecile for not having photographic memory. Oh and last but not least the staffing is horrendous perpetual understaffing leads to too frequent floating or on call shifts. Maybe wouldn't be a problem if people were paid a living wage to show up and work for but no wonder retention is so low when you're paying poverty wages in 2025.

Memorial Health System is the largest employer in the MOV. The organization offered multiple opportunities for growth. 

A typical day in the Emergency Room was very fast paced but very rewarding with the patient care I was able to provide.

I worked with a great team, Teamwork was at the top of our priorities. Without teamwork the patient care would not be over and beyond out standards. 

The hardest part of  my position was when we received feedback on patients and their quality of life was diminishing. The most rewarding part of my job is when I could provided comfort to patients and family members. 

Patient and family care is most important.

They truly will fire you over anything and if they are friends with one of their people you might as well kiss your job goodbye. Managers will firer you for what their friends say and not investigate further. They will also not care if your life is in jeopardy due to weather " your still coming right" ?!?!.... and if your asking a question , ypir questioning theor authority. Best advice don't work here because your words will be used against you band you'll look like your the bad employee when you are actually the back bone of the office.

Coworkers were wonderful but manager is not. 
Unit manager was very inexperienced.
Company will replace you with traveling nurses very quickly. 
When I was released, they stressed that they needed to see me before the end of the 90 day probationary period. 
Manager couldn’t substantiate claim of “potentially important” orders being missed, no date, no time, no patient. 
2nd absence due to COVID exposure, manager stated that she had “spoken” to Employee health and I was to come to work prior to being tested. I spoke to Employee Health and the statement was untrue and so I followed Employee Health recommendation resulting in a second absence in 90 days.


First, in employee general orientation, they encourage you to leave positive reviews. Second, if you leave them, even if you gave more than a two week notice and had nothing but outstanding performance reviews, they will not hire you back. Ever. They treat you like excrement. You are a body with a number and that is it. The irony? They just sent me a post card offering a 10,000 sign on bonus to work night shift, but won’t even give me an interview. I think the patients get decent care, but I’d never work there again even if they called and begged. 

I think MMH is a great organization. The focus definitely is on the patients and their outcomes. The pressure is low as a physical therapist and I rarely feel overwhelmed. The biggest con is the pay and the low raises each year. They will not negotiate or budge on wages. Your pay is strictly based upon your years of experience. However, the work-life balance is great. 

I've had my job at Memorial Health System for 3 years and I continue to enjoy my job. My manager and team are a great group of people. I have been offered other jobs at other facilities and have turned them all down because I'm very happy where I'm at.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The amount of PTO we are given. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Management tends not to listen to concerns. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It’s pretty good amongst coworkers, however I don’t feel like the higher ups listen to valid concerns.

The level of corruption happening at MHS is astounding. There is a particular Director who shouldn't have her job. Her department has the highest turnover but she's bffs with the big wigs. People are forced out of her department all the time. Compensation and treatment are better at other area hospitals. Run!

I enjoy helping patients and collaborating with my coworkers but the environment can take a lot out of you. If you work full-time, it is typically an 8-hour day but sometimes, with the way that you are scheduled, your body will feel like it's been far longer than 8 hours.
