I came here from another hospital in Omaha this place doesn't hold a candle to

The Facilities Maintenance Managers promote infighting, (two managers for 5 men) The food service at Women's, is managed by a desk jockey and their lack of ability to run kitchen staff (while hiding in the office) shows in the quality of food and the cleanliness in the kitchen. It used to really be good.

The health insurance is sub-par, with a very limited list of skilled physicians in tier 1 to choose from. Better hope you have the right ailment, or the list for your treatment might not even be in their network

Bio-Med Department, is a joke,.... not like haha either, Expect multiple call backs on your patient equipment issues, with the tough calls getting farmed out which greatly increases work orders being completed in a timely fashion


No holidays .... It's all comes out of your PTO. (IF) they don't need you for the holiday. But, they won't let you know for sure if you got it off in time to make travel arrangements.

Last but but not least, the NICU managment are Grade A, micro managers, who stifle creative growth and have the ability to suck all the joy out of the department with a single bound. .

I have already applied and will be returning from whence I came . Whatever you do, don't come here unless you've burnt all your other bridges.

The job, and work was great! The relationship me with staff, superiors, and the hospital was also great! Until it wasn’t. When I shared with others my concerns and expressing my concerns for how I was being treated by the leadership under the Foundation, the similar response I would get is “this is what they do to people, it’s their ‘M.O.”  I truly thought I had the best leaders for the entire time of my employment, up until the last 4 or so months. I confided in one of them who told others what was not to be shared, they would text one another in meetings that their own employees sat in, they would talk about me to other employees, and ask that they “keep that in this conversation”, those are just a few examples of how the leadership began treating me. Other agency staff noticed in community meetings the demeanor of the leaders towards me, it was embarrassing to and I had no way to explain to other colleagues why, as it was not clear. 

I worked at the corporate office so I cannot speak to the nursing side of Methodist. I worked as a biller for commercial and government insurances. I was apart of a small team. To speak to the overall atmosphere of the business office I would say production is king. I found that as long as you hit the director's production goals your quality can take a backseat. If you are good at hitting production goals this may be a good fit. In my experience the management just wants to remain under the radar (That is a direct quote from my manager). Most of the management I worked with could really stand to have a class on communication. I will end this with an FYI that if you are a person of color you will feel out of place at the corporate office. 

Terrible management. A lot of favoritism. Treated new employees like they didn't know anything, even though they were overqualified for the job. Had to teach the person training me how to take manual vitals. Was constantly watched by the person training me, even months after being there. A lot of micromanaging from people who are not qualified to tell you what to do. Retaliation after complaining about my preceptor, who kept telling me how to do things daily. Made me look like a terrible employee and constantly belittled me. If you are in any Military service, such as the National Guard, management will make it seem like you're an inconvenience for serving and having to attend training. Even though it's a federal/state requirement. Having a manager who laughs when they find out you are getting deployed instead of asking if you're ok is very demeaning, which made me quit. 

The ideal of this employer is great and perhaps a great job fresh out of school and a newly licensed mental health practitioner. Over time this program has been ran down my incompetent management that don't actually care about their employees as well as changing the culture of this toxic work place. The main objectives are stated to be of taking care of clients, but productivity is really all that matters. You could be a horrible practitioner, but if you can crank out the numbers and manage paperwork well, you might do well here. Also if you have no heart and want a place of work that is run by fear and shame. I think it really does come from the top down as there seems to be a unhealthy attitude of management, talking badly about other employees, being two-faced, and just down right not professional. I would definitely avoid working here if you could find a better gig, especially if you are experienced. 

Working at NMC was always nice because I could relate to the customers there since they were students. Even though it was just a temporary job, I could always count on my manager to listen to me when I had a question or something was wrong and I always felt comfortable there. The hardest part of the job at the time was learning all of the programs since  I didn't really know them that well. But over time, it was quite easy and I'm grateful that my manager was so patient in teaching me everything so that I could comfortably do it on my own. The most enjoyable part was my interactions with my co-workers. Since I sat at the front desk, I was the first person most people saw, and it always made me happy knowing I could put a smile on their face with a bad joke or a friendly compliment to keep their spirits up.

•	Serve as primary contact for the MPC Coding Department to assist with charge entry and charge capture.
•	Perform charge entry from charge tickets prepared by Coding Department staff members.
•	Perform encounter combine function when requested/appropriate to correct encounter errors in EMR.
•	Download, format and distribute hospital discharge reports for Hospital Coding staff members.
•	Download and review the monthly OB and vascular studies daily report.
•	Validate data entry reports on daily basis.
•	Prepare data entry reports retention.
•	Identify CPT code that are not built in the system.
•	Trained new hires, co-workers on encounter creation process.
•	Assist in the creation of e-tickets, setup with e-tickets for two clinics that Methodist acquired

The I.T. division recently eliminated their mainframe processing system.  Now my job consists of maintaining an HR UNIX system.  I am also maintaining other applications pertaining to HR, materials management and AP finance.  

The job culture in the I.T. Division has changed.  It has gone from an outgoing atmosphere to being more introverted.

I am a professional mainframe I.T. person; COBOL, JCL DB2, SQL, etc.  The I.T. Division that I work for no longer uses mainframe technology.  It has been difficult for me to latch on to differ I.T. technologies.  I've done well with it.  But I was much happier maintaining the mainframe and its applications.

The most enjoyable part of working for Nebraska Methodist Health System is the establishment of friendships with co-workers.

A 12 hour shift of seeing E.R. patients, as needed. I appreciated thinking outside of textbook parameters to accomplish necessary diagnostic x-rays while maintaining a high level of confidentiality with a focus on patient radiation protection. Our management staff worked right along with us and encouraged professional growth. My teammates and I would support each other to ensure optimum patient care. The most enjoyable part of my job was the ability to work with supportive professionals in many health care fields within the hospital setting. The hardest part of my job was working holidays and having to be away from my family.

I worked at Methodist Hospital in Nebraska. It was the best experience I have ever had. I had the pleasure to work in every department, pre-op, floor, women's center,  and the cancer center. My day started at 5 a.m and ended at 2 p.m. Monday through Friday. I rotated departments every day. Every department I worked in I had an awesome mentor by my side. In pre-op the patients are sometimes dehydrated so I learned to put a hot pack on the site for a few minutes before you draw. I also learned how to deal with difficult patients. The management there was awesome. My co-workers were great. It was like having another family. The most enjoyable part of this job was the patients. The hardest part of this job is not being hard on yourself when you miss on a patient.
