I’ve had the privilege of working as an Assistant Program Manager at MetroCare of Springfield, and it's been an incredibly rewarding experience. From day one, I felt welcomed and supported—not just as an employee, but as a valued part of a mission-driven team.

Working at Metrocare has been a rewarding experience. The company genuinely cares about both staff and members, creating a supportive and family like atmosphere. Providing skilled nursing to patients in their homes, was the best part of the job and I would have continued, everything was fine for 5 months. The company did not follow through with what was discussed during initial interview, with us doing 4 visits per day, I accommodated them by doing 5 visits per day, then they said this was not enough had to go to 6 visits per day then do extra time unpaid to do charting. The company changed the job from full-time to per diem, they reduced their mileage reimbursement to half 33 cents per mile not enough to cover expenses for maintenance to our vehicle and gas but wanted us to go 26-78 miles, then not pay us to return to the office as well.  It was their loss when they decided to make those changes. 

A typical day at work is full and rewarding. I have learned so much whether it be working with members or coworkers. I’m not just sitting at a desk in front of a computer answering calls. I get to experience different positions. I may help in the kitchen to feed members or I’m on the floor assisting in daily activities. This company really gives you the opportunity and push to grow within. The most enjoyable part of my job is being a part of a team that brings so much joy and service to their community and members. No part of this job is difficult. Workplace culture is awesome. It truly feels like it’s a family. Your team is a family and the center and all its members feel like family. When you love your job it hardly feels like work. 

MCS is an extremely fast-growing company and a wonderful place to work! The CEO truly cares about each individual, welcomes creativity, and leads by example. The culture at MCSis the best I've ever worked for and everyone is authentic and loves what they do. Training processes are great and really help people to feel comfortable in each position. The managers are always willing to help and will take time out of their day to dedicate to helping you if needed. Because MCS is growing so rapidly, there are a lot of changes that happen fairly frequently, which can be stressful for some.

They are unable to tell you what your job would be, this was the first red flag. My favorite part of the interview was after not being able to have anyone explain my duties or what a typical day would be like, after not being able to explain what it is I’m doing that requires my nursing license……I’m asked “Didn’t you look up Metro Care before applying.” Actually no, I took the ad at face value. Didn’t know I had to research them too

If you’re a new nurse beware. If you’re an experienced nurse beware…..have them tell you exactly what your duties are, they can’t tell you.

I worked here as an LPN for 4 months. The hired me on the spot because they were desperate for nurses. They made promises they couldn’t keep, call all day and on weekends, no boundaries. If you are applying as an LPN you WILL work overtime and weekends they just won’t pay you for it.  They are manipulative and moody and will change how they feel about you in a second. The work environment is gossipy and catty and overall very unprofessional. 

I currently work here and I disagree with the previous reviews. I truly enjoy my job. Management is making changes and some people can't adapt. This company has allowed me to grow in my professional life. It has given me and many other people opportunities to grow in their careers. The company gives you $500 a year towards furthering your education. You have a chance to cross train. The training is endless. You will always have someone there to teach you. Opportunities are here! Growth is here! 

I worked at a patient home as a CNA,  after 1 year  I ask for a raise at the company 2 weeks later I got a called from the patient saying that i didn’t have to go the next day since the nurse told him that he no longer needed the services. I never got a called from the company  saying when Was my last day working neither 
offered me another client.

Productive work environment like any other company. I was able to get cross trained which opened up opportunities in other departments. They promote from within so it's pretty awesome. Management is good, understanding and flexible. The most enjoyable part of my job is when we take care of our members and when management buy food for the employees. I also enjoy all the fun things the company does for holidays.
