Working at Mile High Behavioral Healthcare (MHBHC) has been an amazing experience. The organization is deeply invested in my professional development, offering consistent support and providing opportunities for growth in areas I’ve expressed interest in. MHBHC truly values my input and creates a safe, encouraging environment for me to design client-centered events and programs, enabling me to address any gaps I identify and work toward solutions.

Upper management is incredibly supportive and always accessible, fostering a culture of openness. The leaders at MHBHC are some of the best in the field, and I look forward to continuing to learn from them as I progress in my career. I’m also incredibly appreciative of the support MHBHC has offered my family during difficult times, which speaks volumes about the organization’s caring culture.

What stands out most to me is how MHBHC’s staff meet clients with compassion, using a whole-person, trauma-informed approach. They are constantly finding new ways to help our clients achieve their own vision of recovery.

Overall, MHBHC continuously challenges me to expand my thinking and deepen my understanding of the behavioral health field. I’m truly grateful to be part of such a dynamic and supportive team.

I started working at Mile High Behavioral a few months ago, and I absolutely love it. The supervisors are incredibly supportive, genuinely engaged in my well-being, and encourage me to be my authentic self. They’ve allowed me to ‘shadow’ groups and eased me into my role, rather than just throwing me in at the deep end.

The program I was hired for is brand new and being built from the ground up, which has given me an amazing opportunity to contribute to shaping and developing the curriculum. I feel genuinely welcomed and valued here, with open access to my supervisors and even the top-level managers. It’s such a positive, collaborative environment, and I would highly recommend working at Mile High Behavioral!

Though "fine" is not exactly the best descriptor for a company that prides itself in trying to care for the most marginalized folks in our community. There is such great vision for care but like most companies, they fail to build a system that empowers and supports their employees in providing that care. Pay inequities, impossible expectations, and lack of support are reasons for the revolving door of employees here. When you run a non-profit organization as if it's a fortune 500 company with authoritarianism and favoritism, this is to be expected. It often felt like the company was always moving towards something and was completely fine with leaving you behind with square wheels.

If you are already here, take advantage of all the opportunities because they are plentiful. Learn, grown and try to meet your own needs as best as you can. 

Giving back is a big part of my personal philosophy and I was excited to see that there was a company that felt the same way.  I was excited about this job and how my skill sets were requested. The reality of this organization is there are Literally no safety measures in place. They treat their staff as disposable and don’t offer any support after traumatic events that happen with clients. I worked for this organization for over a year and was offered a promotion. During the interview not one of the interviewers knew one thing about the position they wanted to promote me into. Look elsewhere if you are thinking about applying. Don’t waste your time and your own mental health. There are plenty of other organizations who actually care about their employees as well as their clients they are trying to help. You have been warned that this is not a good, safe place to work.

The coworkers and population are great to work with. There are people you really get to know here and it feels like a community. The management is very poor. Confusing expectations, low pay, and very little upward mobility. There is a constant revolving door of people coming in and out of this job and I would bet money that it is due to the management. Every time someone leaves I hope that they do a little self-reflection but that never happens. There have been downright dangerous situations that could have been prevented but management will not implement the necessary changes to prevent them in the future. It is unfortunate that management ruins this job because it would be amazing to work here if there were some changes to management. 

There's such a complete and total lack of support and supervisors/supervision opportunities.
You'll really be lucky if the HR chick calls you back or returns any of your correspondences, literally the worst I've seen across various agencies in different states. 
Getting a lot of grant funding and placing all focus on opening new programs and not supporting established programs and staff who are struggling. 
The remarkable lack of support in supervision is laughable. The quality of guidance given by individuals providing supervision is questionable at best

Comitis is in DESPERATE NEED of new management, staff, training, advertisement and patient rapport. I believe comitis is singlehandedly ruining the reputation and faith of mental health organizations 

ADRC needs regular and consistent trainings, follow- ups with staff and better security measures ASAP but has improved dramatically since my initial visit years ago. 

The most enjoyable part of the job is helping the homeless population and others that need a helping hand.  It is a job that makes you feel good about what you are doing if you care. 
There is much work to be done but most that come into the job burn out fast so you have a lot of staff sitting around doing nothing but playing with their phone while a couple are trying to get EVERYTHING done.  Management is lazy too so it’s just a bad situation all around at the end of the day.

MHBHC is a  Day Resource Center for people experiencing homelessness. Most of our clients were homeless due to mental illness. substance abuse or a combination.  There were no typical days as we dealt with overdoses, fights, suicide attempts and myriad of issues. 

Our goal was to prepare our clients to transition them from homelessness.  The greatest sense of accomplishment for me was when a guest improved secured and kept employment and eventually obtained housing

I have learned so much working for a not for profit organization.  It is very different from corporate America as you are not stressed to meet deadlines and make the bottom line.  From day one, the MHBHC team has made me feel comfortable and has welcomed me to be a part of this family.  I am very happy to work for this agency.
