I worked at McPherson Health & Rehab for almost three years as the dietary manager. I saw On the upwards of 20+ different deptartment manager changes between the DON, Administrator, SSD, ADON, Activities Director, BON, etc. The administrative staff is horrible about holding staff accountable. The DON & Administrator will make dietary do the work of nursing staff. As well as giving the dietary dept more work they also cut their hours the same day. The dietary department has to do more and more jobs that are given to them simply because the CNAs aren’t held accountable. The CNAs play on their phones all day long while the DON sits back watching them do whatever they’d like. Always short staffed in nursing. I was told to “just take responsibility and fix the problem” when our maintenance supervisor wouldn’t fix our fridges/freezers. I had to paint the entire kitchen on my own because maintenance was too busy walking around talking to people instead of doing his job. I’m not a disgruntled past employee, I’m an employee that was taken advantage of because I did My job and everyone else’s. The administrator was very rude when I gave my notice and all he had to say was “okay, good thanks for letting me know” then told me, “I expect you to remain professional the rest of your time here”.  I was Then told i wouldn’t be able to use my PTO that I had Put in a month before I turned in my resignation. I wouldnt Recommend this job to anyone.

Unprofessional administration dresses like they are in a night club. They do not know how to treat staff very very high turn over building is in awful condition except their office spaces which they totally remodeled to look good . Company excepts anybody that's breathing. So staff is always abused and they sweep issues under the rug or cover up . The company is ran by the buddy system if you are not the administration buddy then you get treated like a red head step child . incidents are high and this place is a good way to lose your license or end up in court. They ask you to do things that is unlawful. Severely understaffed. Building not fit for residents the water is often brown they never have enough supplies for cnas or nurses very poor training. Unit manager is lazy as a fat cat. Don Adon administrator won't lift a finger until state is in the building

Your enjoyment of Mission Health will strongly depend on your role and which department you fall under due to inequitable treatment. When COVID first hit, even though we were just regular office staff we were told that we were essential workers so we were only allowed to work from home for 2 months, then we had to go back to the office. Bonus opportunities depend highly on your department/job- either you never get them or you always get them with no rhyme or reason. There are little, if any, opportunities to advance at least in the home office due to very few layers between you and the executives. Benefits are ok, but they are lagging in things that are mostly standard like matching 401(k) and reasonable cost sharing for benefit premiums. 

The culture in a nutshell is that everyone knows,  but no one does.  I left the company because as a manager I found things that were broken- procedures, task sheets, etc and when I discussed with upper management they already knew. When I talked with other people in my position, they already knew.   For 3-5 years everyone knew and did nothing about it. 
The home office is all fun and games with online stuff, so employee benefit options they are confusing to the building HR people.   They don’t even know they exist.   And with all of that budgets and too long (or should I say forgotten) that you ask about something and don’t get an answer.  
Mission is a sprawling company (8 plus states )  with a local business mindset.   I hope they catch up with themselves. 

Worked at Meadowbrook for sometime and there is favoritism with the click of people who work there. 
Most of the department heads are lazy and don’t want to work. They find ways to get out of working by forcing lots of job responsibilities off on others. They always have theft on a regular basis and the nursing and DON team do not care about the residents. People come to work whenever they feel like it. The Administrator is passive aggressive and only is concerned about the budget. Non working equipment for employees while he micro manages every department. It’s like the employees are still  in school.
Most of the employees take advantage s d the administrator just turns his cheek. Unfocused on the bad apples in the bunch. It could be a better facility if they would revamp and get rid of the lazy employees who don’t want to really work!

One significant issue the state is at the building at a minimum of two times per month.  Nursing facilities should not have the state coming in that much. 
As an LSW I had 3 1/2 weeks of poor training when I started, then was thrown into a unit with 50+ residents and it was a fast paced unit. Conferences were months behind, so I was expected to get those all scheduled do them on top of new admissions, discharges, the upcoming conferences, multiple meetings a week, other issues with residents/families, with little support from the team. I asked for help, but never received any. 
For CNA’s my heart goes out to them. I was told the resident to CNA ratio was 1:15, I was disgusted. 
The facility has potential it just needs some serious remodeling, not just the building but the staff as well, more especially the higher ups, because if they are not doing anything to help resolve the problems they are part of the issue. 

What can I say about Haviland other than all of the staff feel like family! Haviland is a unique facility that works together to provide our clients the best  care possible. The staff take the time to listen, help answer questions and help the clients when they are struggling. The administration is always willing to listen to any concern and very easy to talk to. Many of the staff have been at the facility for several years and have a wide range of knowledge to share with everyone.  Competitive pay and schedule is flexible as all the staff are willing to jump in and help if something comes up. I know I have worked at a few local places throughout my career and this is the one place I have felt like I joined a family right from the beginning!

I have worked at Yates Center Health and Rehab for 10 years and have had the opportunity to advance my career many times.  It is an amazing place to work with their Mission C.A.R.E.S. culture and a wonderful place for residents to live.  It is an exciting place to work because over the past several years we have been rated by the Centers of Medicare and Medicaid as a 5 Star facility and have achieved quality awards from the American Health Care Association (AHCA) including the Bronze and Silver Awards and their Quality Initiative Award.  It is rewarding to see our hard work and efforts recognized on a national level.  It is a collaborative effort between management staff and employees to create an wonderful and rewarding atmosphere for both residents and staff.

I've worked at Mission for 6 years now and the company has come a long way. Mission has tripled in size in the past 4 years and the culture and improved significantly. Various employees have left to "test the waters" or because they believed the "grass was greener" only to return or want to return shortly after. The Company has come a long way and continues to improve. With 2000+, you will always have a few unhappy people. After visiting most of our 30+ locations, I can say that Mission should be considered an employer of choice. 
Mission does not have the newest buildings in town but what they do offer is heavy support from the home office and guidance to help the Nursing Home Administrators and Directors of Nursing lead their teams in the right direction thus giving our residents the best that we can.

I have worked for Mission Health since May of 2023. During this time, I have grown my skillset exponentially thanks to the support, mentoring, and opportunities that I have received from Mission Health's Leadership.
