What is the best part of working at the company?
The environment is great, it’s a great learning experience. But for the amount of case loads your have they don’t pay enough. The pay for the position is terrible, especially when you have a degree.Mississippi is one of the lowest paid states for employees. I see now why people get their degrees here then move to another state to work!! Other states pay you your worth!!

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Meeting deadlines and all the constant add- on job  duties, without the add-on pay!!

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The work environment is great, everyone gets alone and we help each other out.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
I clock in and get straight to work, make courtesy call, go through my application and determination list. Help some people with their application process and take constant phone calls all day while  trying to complete your caseload Complete has many applications and recertification that  I can in an 8 hr shift.

•Develop and submit in writing to the Bureau Director on a weekly and monthly basis, specified Excel reports regarding the status of provider and beneficiary cases. 
•Accept and interpret beneficiary referrals for abuse of Medicaid benefits. 
•Monitor final disposition of cases and make recommendations as necessary to appropriate authorities. 
•Review Medicaid policies/procedures for weakness and make recommendations for change. 
•Develop program goals and objectives and program procedures and policies in accordance with agency policy and federal/state laws and regulations.  
•Administer and maintain employee performance appraisal system for subordinates and handle personnel matters.
•Provide a teaching atmosphere conducive to the learning of new concepts and skills.

In the position of Nurse Administrator, I have learned that every individual has something to offer (or add) to a project. This insight has made my job very enjoyable.

Management and coworkers nice and accommodating. They run a tight ship. You have to email all five supervisors when you go on break and when you return. You have to give two weeks notice if you have a doctor's appointment or something. Zero tolerance for gossip and that rule has made this to be a pleasant work environment. Even though caseloads are huge, management seems to understand that you can only do one case at a time so you're not too stressed about the huge caseloads.  Literally the only reason I'm leaving is I can't live on the salary they pay. 

The workload is outrageously overwhelming. Higher ups are power hungry and driven by their desire for their next promotion and so they want cases worked in less than a week to make themselves look good. Employees are treated like robots and are often disrespected and under appreciated.  The company pays less than all other Medicaid agencies and have the audacity to volunteer staff to work at Red Cross Shelters. The pay is laughable. Clients are allowed to disrespect and cuss us out as they please. No one cares about our concerns.  People who create policy never worked a case and cannot relate. The turnover is insane because of all of this.

Management is awful and the pay does not equal to the amount of work being required and the stressful environment

The work environment is toxic and stressful 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Miserable other than when dealing with clients

Management needs an overall from the top to the bottom. Horrible turnover rate. HR does not respond or listen to your concerns. The work load you will have does not match the pay. Don't express your concerns about anything or you will be retaliated against. There is no room for advancement if you are not buddy buddy with "The Wall" as it was called. You will stay in the same position helping other co workers and get no recognition. 

A lot of this work is routine. There are a lot of meetings that I feel are overly redundant, but it is a government job and there is a lot of oversight. The people are generally good to work with. There isn't a lot of room for advancement unless something happens. Typically, in order to advance, you will need to leave - just like at any state government job.

Medicaid does not care about it's workers. Its all about numbers which is why turnaround is so high for specialists. Higher ups pile on more work that is possible for 8 hours a day. Takes FOREVER to get millage for outstation visits. Low pay compared to what's expected of you. Work is redundant and unfulfillng, basically a paper pusher. RUN.

I worked with some really good people. It was nice to help the people that needed help; not so much the people that are taking advantage of the system.  The elected officials need to make some drastic changes to prevent the abuse. They also need to look out a little better for the employees.

Worked as a Medicaid specialist for about three months...got worn out doing the same tedious paperwork and taking calls that had no direction. Clients are difficult but okay to deal with if you have proper training. Overall, tons of paperwork and headache inducing amounts of research trying to determine eligibility for these programs.
