Love working for a company who provides a service to an underserved population. In order to work in this environment you must have empathy, drive and determination to make others lives meaningful and valued.  Each department I have had a chance to collaborate with have been warm and welcoming. Covid pandemic help shift the culture to be focused more on the "employee" experience just as much as our customers. In fact - We are not employees- we are now Team members. We are all equal and have as much contribution to the teams as leadership.  Current progress includes - Social responsibility hours (extra time off to give back to the community) Birthday hours - The month of your birth they give you an additional day off to spend as you choose. The health insurance & Wellness programs help offset the cost per check. 

Payroll is bi weekly - direct deposit and/or check. 

Flexibility- Most if not all roles are hybrid (I am not in the dealership so can only speak to office roles)

Training- On going. Onboarding was virtual with meeting various leaders to touch on their experiences with the company. They have inhouse training department who is always adding content and presenting trainings. 

Communication- Has improved as my time here continues. Frequent town halls, weekly meetings with our team and bi weekly one on ones with my direct manager. 

Compensation- Although lower on the scale than I would prefer, they are generous with flexible schedule  and offered a decent increase when my review came up. 

Culture- as stated before shifting. Turn over appears to be solely based on those unable to see we are removing the "Cut throat" dealership mentality and focused on excellent service and providing an end product to impact lives across the us. 

Hours- 40. Not more, not less. I never get emails after my core hours. I have never been mandated to work anything over my standard hours or even asked.  

Drama- None that I have witnessed. Mostly upbeat and happy people to be here. 

Burnout- I would say this applies to all companies at this point. The company is continuing to hire but we still have several vacancies which leads to the dedicated employees to get frustrated. I know they are trying to find ways to resolve this (it was mentioned in a meeting I attended). 

Overall - I love working here, I love seeing the changes, I do enjoy the people I work with and those in various departments that connect with me. 

I would recommend this company to anyone looking to make a positive change in someone's life while also improving your work/life balance. 

Final thought: Apply, Interview- See for yourself. As much as they interview you- YOU interview them. Be part of the progressive change the company is making.  

I was really excited to work here and they were really keen on hiring me, despite the fact I had no experience in the mobility side of the business. My automotive repair experience is what they hired me for. 
All the mobility training and certifications were done online, which was no problem and could be done at home as well as in the shop. Since most of the vehicles that this location dealt with were new or almost new, I had time to do my training in between service appointments. The mobility specific work wasn't too challenging once I got the basics of it. 
My coworkers were great, one in particular was by far the most welcoming, patient and helpful person I have ever worked with (he knows who he is).  If it hadn't been for him, I'd have left within a month. 
The management was disconnected to say the least. Very little actual attention was given to what was going on out in the shop unless there was a problem. It was often necessary for us to have to repeat things twice: once to the service manager and once to the service writer because they often forgot to inform each other. Communication in general was pretty poor.
I was welcomed in and promised time and time again that I was doing well, I had nothing to worry about, they liked me. Three months in, the service manager decided to fire me out of the blue, but couldn't inform me himself, instead leaving the task to the General Manager and taking the day off.  When I asked why the sudden change of heart, I was told "this is a decision from your service manager, I'm just the messenger".  I felt totally deceived and betrayed. 

I can only speak for the Villa Park location since that's where I worked. The store management is so disorganized and complacent. They don't listen to feedback from their technicians, wrong parts constantly ordered and management is very shady and hypocritical. The moral there is very low compared to what I've seen and heard from other stores. Good luck getting a raise or any promotion. They have a "tech tier" program that shows how you can advance but they don't follow it and constantly give you work that higher tiered techs should be getting but wont allow you to move up even after successfully meeting the requirements. They just take advantage of their technicians. Major favoritism from management is a factor as well.  If you don't live at work, they get upset and actively try to set you up for failure. Good luck trying to take time off, especially if you're really good at your job. Also, they fail to mention much of what you'll actually be doing at the job in the interview, which has led to many technicians and sales reps leaving after a week or two because it was completely different than what was explained to them in the interview.  

Typical day at work?
Listening to the same music every day. Other Techs eat popcorn and watch other Techs work and dictate to them while they sit and eat popcorn.
No matter how good of an install you did. Its never right.

Management. Useless when an issue arrises. No meetings to discuss better communication and work flow. Not knowledgable on company policies. Here call this person. I don't know.

Service advisors wear sweat pants and Rock T shirts to work.
They dont take pics. They dont get mileage. They dont even check if its the same vehicle.
They order food and gossip all day. The Techs do the Writers job.
Sales dictates what the Techs are doing. Not Service.
Salesman spent more time in shop bothering Techs than doing his job. 
Pay structure. Terrible. You need to know Automotive. Fabrication. Welding. Carpentry. Major Electrical knowledge.
Very underpaid.



There Ads for job. Misleading.
You dont do much real auto repair. But you are expected to know it well.
BTW. These conversions, half the time the manufacture like Toyota ,Chrylser wont touch the van after its been changed at conversion company.
So brand new van. You have no support. Hope you are good.

Shop.. HA!! Floor jacks and stands and laying on cardboard.
No one cleans up. Trash over flowing.  Zipties and bolts on floor for Disabled customers to walk out to.

This should be a great company.
But its wires are all crossed.
Needs a complete revamp.

Company promotes based on time with company instead of applicable experience or knowledge.
This puts people in positions that put them way over their heads and causes a dysfunctional environment for employees and customers. 
When issues are brought to the attention of upper management, their preferred method is to sweep things under the rug and offer no real solutions. 
This attitude leads to festering disfunction and resentment.
Management at the ormond beach, fl location is inexperienced and never learns from their mistakes. 
The inability to learn from their mistakes seems to plague management in this company, I suspect because these mistake typically do not directly affect them but trickle down to the real heart and soul of the company, the technicians. Who get so fed up with their managers incompetence that they end up doing parts of their job just to cut down on the constant headaches caused by unqualified managers. On top of that management never faces any consequences for their actions because of the companies policy of not reprimanding employees that deserve it. 
Overall terrible place to work, that preaches about their superior ethics but cannot back them up when push comes to shove.

If you like to drink from a fire hose everyday, this is the place for you. There is no getting ahead and attempts at being proactive will be rewarded with overwhelming additional work to the point of crippling one's feeling of self worth.

Lots of lessons learned... opportunity exists to write a how NOT-TO manual after working here.

All upper management cares about is making inordinate amounts of profit on the backs of those who do not have it to spare. The company mission has become lip service to aid sales. This used to be such a noble company.

If you are a yes-person who is willing to roll over at the slightest whim, you would do well here.

Keeping sane and protecting your sense of wellbeing is the hardest part of working here.

The saving grace is getting to work with incredible clientele. However, the company takes advantage of those with a soft spot for the clients. Prepare to be exploited if you have a warm heart.

Company does not support local stores in marketing their business and services effectively.  Inventory has not been inspected thoroughly causing unnecessarily, negative feedback from customer complaints and service related issues.  

Overall operation needs a new management approach and annual budget allocations need to be increased in many areas support future growth and success of their business.  

Customer feedback in areas of Customer Service need to be heard and addressed proactively.  Service Department Manager was not effective and often returned vehicles without satisfactorily addressing the issues reported by the customer and he provided excuses to customer's for his inability to rectify mechanical issues.  Customers were not happy and will probably never buy another vehicle and will spread bad PR about their unfortunate experiences to other potential customers.  This will cause unit sales numbers to fall short of lofty and unattainable goals given the bad reputation they have to now contend with.

The  Management have little to no experience.  Favoritism is played on a daily basis.  Management does not lead by example and reprimand people for the very smallest offense.  Goals are set very high for a select few while others do nothing.  They are there to make a profit not to help people that are in need.  They preview qualified the customers and if they feel they don't have the money to make the profit they want they will not meet with them.   Talking to management is useless because nothing is ever done in a people and corporate allow this to happen.  If you do not do or hang out with management you are nothing at this place.   Do not bother going to HR with any complaint because they are incapable of solving anything as they will backup the management team only.  So many good people have been let go and so many hard workers written up for the smallest offense.  When they write you up they listen to one side of a story and do not bother to listen to the other side. If you want to be respected this is not the place to be.

Mobility works is a terrible company to work for. They over promise and don't fulfill any of their promises from upper management to human resources. Management team lacks years of experience, it's as if they're all entry level learning as the new comers. This company treated me extremely bad from my co workers to even management. It's not hard to make money if you know the product but it becomes hard when individuals on your team don't even know the product so how do you even learn. You pretty much have to teach yourself everything there isn't really training. Also, the pay is extremely confusing, there's a salary but also a draw. So they give you money just to take it back. It's extremely easy to get a job here and I do not recommend. You can't really grow in this company so essentially it's a waste a time. Again worst company to work for. Eventually they'll go out of business because they're terrible.

The best part of the experience at Mobility Works is the interaction with the customers.  The worst part is that in this interaction you begin to care about them and the struggles they face daily...and watch as a team led by one of the biggest thieves ever (actually has a criminal record!!) takes advantage of their disability to sell them a used van...think used car dealer, talking to someone in a wheelchair or worse....has a child in a wheelchair - you get the picture.  Unless you are there to make money by ignoring morals, ethics, and basic humanity - you are in the wrong place.  The pace is set at Steroid levels because the deception of the handicapped community had a daily quantity set as a goal for continued employment.
