When I first started with Mon Health, I was super excited to get things moving and being a great part of the team.  This excitement was quickly smashed out of me when management and “Leads” would quickly smack your hands for doing something outside your support area, even though you know the subject matter at hand.  Management speaks out of both sides of their mouths by wanting saying they want to be there for you and help you maintain proper balance between work and personal life but then in the next sentence they tell you about hard deadline for a multitude of projects that “we cannot fail and may require you to work extra hours to get everything done”. You are micro-managed down to the second of every day by management even though you may not talk to any member of management for weeks at a time.  Emails to them are simply ignored or require them to be sent again to “reach the top of her inbox” because she simply gets too many emails in a day. There are cliques in the department and if you don’t belong to one then you simply are the outcast whose probably going to get majority of the brunt.  Training is an absolute joke and basically nonexistent.  You are expected to have one area of support for your solutions but in the next breath be able to assist others in the department on their solutions with no training on how to use it.  No one in the department is able to think logically or critically when it comes to solving problems. Everything gets overly complicated and no one can compromise.  Management takes the side of management/leaders from outside the department and throws their own employees under the bus for their “mismanagement” of a project.  Morale is terrible among everyone as it’s all a “numbers game” to see who is productive and who’s not.  I would highly recommend that anyone avoid working for this company as you will be treated like a dog. Locked in a cage and expected to be a good dog while getting kicked around and abused by your leaders. 

Mon Health was the place I held my first professional job in my career field and made for a lot of on the job learning, providing a lot of useful knowledge and skills that I have been able to and still am able to utilize currently, which I am quite thankful to have! What I enjoyed the most about being a part of Mon Health was the true team effort and friendships gathered within and outside of my department, along with the widespread diversity of personalities among the staff that I worked alongside of. Those truly made for highlights of the job. The lunch choices offered and the benefits offered aren't too bad either.

With that being said, the all staff meetings and the specific department meetings seemed to be hit and miss. Sometimes interaction and attention in such meetings was dry enough to make the meetings not worthwhile. The job environment required strong multitasking at a fast pace which could make for lost satisfaction and quality, and become stressful to keep up with. Team coordination didn't always seem to occur, as staff could get ahead of the team effort and focus solely into their own work, due to how busy it could get. With that there also seemed to be some favoritism among certain staff, (were given higher level projects or work, given promotions despite less working experience). The pay rate of the role could have been better for the level of work, and overtime was a rarity to have.

A typical day was full of hard work, the second I clocked in I had to empty all the trash, take it to the compactor and dump it. Then I had to clean up the small pile of pots, after I scrubbed the pots I swept the floors, in the kitchen and dining area, making sure to get under everything. After that I'd sweep and mop all the coolers, and go back to my sink to wash more pots and pans. After I was done I took two carts full of trays of patients food up to their floors and went on my lunch break. After lunch I had to quickly clean the pots and pans from tray line, then go to help clear the patient carts and clean the dishes, after I was done I would go sweep the floors again, took the trash out, do a rather large pile of pots and pans, putting away what I could through out the day, and mop/scrub the floors of the kitchen, break room, and food service area. After I was done I took a fifteen minute break and checked to make sure everything was locked up, put away, and cleaned. After that I'd take the trash to the compactor, take the boxes out, lock up, clock out, and leave.

My biggest gripe about the department I worked in was the management. Too many of them staffed at a time and a few of them were not pleasant to work with, they can make you feel uncomfortable at times when they get all over you. 

Some of the cooks would get an attitude with you when you ask them for simple things when it's their job. Someone will always call off, leaving you to do the extra work and management still expect you to get everything done in the same timeframe with little to no assistance from them.

A lot of favoritism. One worker can do something wrong and management be all over them. But one of their favorites can do whatever and they just overlook them. 

Breaks are somewhat laughable. Breaks and lunch are very early and you're not always guaranteed breaks. Especially if you're short staffed, which is almost every other day. 

Overall, the department is so dysfunctional. I can see why it's so hard for them to hire and/or keep a fully staffed. Unless you're in dire need of a job, I would look elsewhere.

The only thing I really liked about the job was the patients and some of the coworkers. They made the best part of the day despite the flaws.

Worst place to get pulled in the hospital is either 6N or to 5S. Nurses had a certain manner about them that was off putting, I also noticed that these floors had the most travel nurses which could’ve been the reason for that. Nurses were less willing to jump in and help their assistants on these floors and they were pushy when asking if things had been charted yet by the assistants when we’ll be running around with our heads cut off - changing beds, cleaning up poo off the floor, taking people to the bathroom, setting up meal trays, getting needy patients their 10th cup of coffee and yet another lunch box… I don’t think they realize the amount of hard work their assistants put in for them. I felt like 6N had the worst patients in the whole hospital, there was never a good day there. If anyone ever spoke about 6N there were never any positive comments. You will be running around like a chicken with your head cut off because this unit is often understaffed or the team you have is not as willing to help compared to other floors. Nursing assistants always worked together on every floor and I formed many great relationships with my coworkers. I feel as if there’s a disconnect between positions. I simple “thank you” would go along way and just treated your coworkers with kindness. 

Typical day was to open the facility.  Check the work orders for the day.  Schedule those orders for the delivery drivers.  Review purchasing and receiving documents for accuracy.  Meet with respiratory personnel to see what their day consisted of.  Check on mandated equipment checks to see if all are up to date.  Assign shipping duties to personnel.  Check with service employees to see what's on their schedule and that it gets completed in a timely manor.  Do inventory audits, and service walk in customers.  Vendor meetings and negotiations.  

I obtained my management and leadership skills through this organization.

Management was incredible.  I was fortunate enough to have a female director of operations that had a vast knowledge for the industry.  She gave me the opportunity to enhance my knowledge through her.  

Fantastic co-workers.  Family atmosphere.  Everyone worked for one cause together.

Although I didn't mind doing it but the hardest part of my job was budgeting.  

The co-workers, customers, and my director.  Coming to work everyday knowing my director had extreme confidence in my abilities to help the organization to move forward.

I wanted to write a  review  about  the workload and  management  that mon has running  evs department I been  working  with  mon for 30 plus years as an or and as an crothall informer I use to have 2 people  cleaning  my  ors while I. In room 9 but now the workload is  more than I expected to much favoritism  there are a few employees on afternoon  who plays pokemon that the afternoon  supervisor  will allow but then others are pulled to finish  the  work in the cath lab and radiology department  it was cancer center then it was moved to be done by day because  lady on afternoon  wasn't  cleaning it due to  pokemon  but the contractor  company and afternoon  maintenance has run off all good employees but with no replacements due to the afternoon supervisor negative and orbital security I hope mon goes back to  running  it again or housekeeping  is not going to  last upper management  open your eyes and address the problem on these departments but I will encourage  anyone  go elsewhere  for a job  that u can actually do on your own without the micromanagement daily on afternoon and  day shifts 

Housekeeping at Mon is not like it used to be before they brought in  a inexperienced contractor company to cut costs and get rid of long time  employee's this is definitely 100percent not a good environment for long term people to much favoritism and management keeps employee's fighting for their own sake to keep themselves in a job management on afternoon shift the worst about the favoritism to the employee's  who don't want to  work day shift hires women for the day shifts supervisors enjoyment they take areas that use to take 2 people to complete now it's just one person has to  kill themselves or they will make up a excuse to get rid of u there nothing good about this department just read reviews or try it but you'll be sorry u didn't choose  other employment Mon has definitely gone down  hill but what can u expect when they hire anyone the work load is definitely put on a few who put up with  it run as fast as u can from  this employer it will save u a lot of unwasted time in a dead end job

While working at Mon Health Medical Center I LOVED every minute of my job. The patient's were amazing and I became quite familiar with many patient's and their entire families. My co-workers were amazing. Everyone was family; from other administrative roles to each doctor, everyone was treated with respect and made to feel important. We all had the understanding that if we didn't work, our clinic wouldn't work. The doctors and nurse practitioner were always giving detailed information when we had questions, our manager always made sure we were feeling ok or if we were overwhelmed would help us in anyway to make our day less stressful, and everyone always received positive feedback and constructive criticism to make sure that our mistakes were not used to belittle us but to better us! The only downfall to this job was the upper management at the time. But, I have seen lately that has all changed. I would highly recommend Mon Health Medical Center to anyone seeking employment in that field.

The lab is a nightmare if you are a lab assistant. Beyond understaffed and they keep adding more and more work with not enough staff. We are extremely underpaid for the amount of work and stress put onto us. Managers are horrible (especially the one for lab assistants) they sit in the office with door shut never ask if you need help. Only come out to yell that something wasn’t done quick enough. Almost everyday there is only one phlebotomists for the whole hospital (horrible patient care). Patient care is nonexistent and mangers don’t care you ask for help and get told no. You are spoken to by management like you are worthless and beneath them. You are extremely lucky if you ever get a break/lunch break but managers make sure they get to go to lunch and two breaks. You ask for a break and get told you don’t need one. No support and no leadership. It is a total nightmare I would never recommend anyone working in this lab.
