Montecito Post Acute Care

 Montecito Post Acute and Rehab is a facility that caters to CNA's, but unfortunately, my experience has been far from satisfactory. From the moment I stepped foot inside, it was evident that this was a terrible place to work. The staff is overworked, with no end in sight to the constant demands placed upon them. Despite their dedication, they are not given the tools for success, leaving them struggling to provide adequate care.
One of the most glaring issues is the low pay. CNA's at Montecito Post Acute and Rehab are grossly underpaid for the challenging work they do. It's disheartening to see such hardworking individuals not being compensated fairly for their efforts. To make matters worse, the facility is consistently understaffed, leading to an overwhelming workload for everyone involved. This creates a hostile work environment where stress levels are high and morale is low.
Overall, my experience at Montecito Post Acute and Rehab has been disappointing. It's clear that there are systemic issues that need to be addressed to improve the working conditions for CNA's. As someone who values professionalism and respect in the workplace, I cannot in good conscience recommend this facility to my fellow colleagues in the healthcare industry.


The facility is like a family once you get comfortable. Most people in the facility are very easy-going and able to help if needed. It really depends on who you're working with but all in all there is always someone in the building who cares. 

I worked there for a few years and I absolutely loved the patients and staff. It's good experience if you plan on working in a medical setting such as this. I'm not saying this facility is the easiest. It's super fast paced & one of the hardest jobs I've come across. But you will eventually get the hang of it if you're willing.
However, management changed and it has gone downhill recently. A few of the new management are extremely unprofessional and unnecessarily power-trippy. They should be working with us as a team.

This place is so garbage I’ve never seen a facility this bad. I never got to take a break or lunch. Understaffed CNAs. Nurses think they’re your boss. Every CNA seems like they’re dragging their shoulders everyday, didn’t see one happy person. NURSES ONLY CARE ABOUT THE MED PASS THATS IT. CNAs would do what ever they wanted , if they didn’t want to be a CNA that day they could do showers instead then they would split the patients to the rest of the CNAs left, leaving us with 25+ patients. You had to fight for your life everyday here I am so glad I quit this dump. They try to hype it up saying it’s a good environment and  great people ITS ALL A LIE! 

I generally appreciate this work environment as it allows us to provide valuable assistance to those in need. However, I have noticed that the patient-to-staff ratio is imbalanced, which can negatively impact the quality of patient care. The workload is significant, often leaving little time for breaks or lunches. Despite these challenges, I find a sense of calm amid the chaos, and the staff is generally supportive of one another. Nevertheless, it is concerning to see some staff members appearing reluctant and unmotivated when it comes to providing patient care, which should be our foremost priority.

There's always job security and growth opportunities at a healthcare facility, but Montecito doesn't do well enough in plenty other aspects to warrant staying too long.  Constantly short staffed in the clinical department, and workload for each employee (especially CNA's) is far higher than in many other places. The building is quite old and not enough attention is given to clear problems that exist in its foundation as well as its beds and machines. Among the workers are some of the most kind and helpful people I've met, and they aren't hard to find; however, everyone in management can't seem to do their jobs right. Fine as a first job for whoever has plans to move up in healthcare, but don't expect any easy days.

I knew right when I had my interview it was too good to be true. They get you with the interview making it seem like it’s the best place to work and the hiring process was super rushed probably because they are always short staffed. The RNs absolutely do nothing they do not help the CNAs at all, all they give you attitude. As a CNA your not responsible for all these patients by yourself but when your there it sure feels like it. Good luck trying to get another CNA to help you because they are equally as stressed out and overwhelmed. The staff ratio to patients is unsafe your gonna have atleast 12 if not more patients. It’s extremely hard to even find time to take a break because it’s so hectic all the time. 

So many other employers out there for nurses... don't settle for this place.  Other Ensign buildings are better. Managers and director of nursing didn't care about their staff.    They promote their children and ward members.

Overstaffed during the week and skeleton crew on the weekends, holidays and overnight shifts.  

NOT SAFE DO NOT RISK YOUR LICENSE!

Poor communication, no accountability for the lazy workers and  those with chronic call offs. This was a morale buster.   Notorious for using the good nurses and CNAs.  This causes burnout and HIGH turnover.  


Cheapskates, lack of quality products, no agency/enough staff, or incentives, cut all financial corners, and underpay hard working staff. Jail food looks more appealing.  They say they care about home life but even when presented with an ailment such as cancer, punishment is not spared. A company that doesn’t care about the quality of your work just that bodies are there to do it. Management does not listen and fires the people that actually care and actually are team players

i’ve been working at montecito for almost two years. i started when i was very young, management does not care about us, i have been so mentally and physically drained from working here. i wouldn’t wish working here or being a patient here on my worst enemy. i have seriously contemplated leaving the healthcare field because of this place. the CNA lead is absolutely awful and has created such a hostile work environment. montecito has finally pushed me over the edge. i’m done feeling belittled and unappreciated by these people. cannot wait to hand in my two weeks :)

Went to an interview the other day. All went well and was told I would be a good fit but was concerned about my experience because I was over qualified. Later that day received a call and was told they couldn't hire me because supposedly I was once an employee there. I do not recall ever working for this company and was never informed. Pretty disappointing the fact I wasted time arriving to the interview and had to push aside my family emergency I had thinking I would have a job. If you apply for this company, beware. Ive been in the medical field since 98 and this is the worst experience I have dealt with.
