A typical day at work consisted of being berated and cut down by customers (a majority of which were doctors that thought the world revolved round them) which is to be expected with any job of course but when its the same people EVERY day..you start to feel a bit bullied. 

I learned several new ways to create drinks.

Management was awesome until our new boss took over. Our previous manager worked with us to help create new solutions for problems and always asked our opinions about things before any changes were made. He listened to us as he had no idea how to run a cafe and since we spent our whole day working in one and knew what was best he always asked for our opinions first. He was a real team player and always checked to make sure we were okay and asked if we needed any help and would often come to help himself if we had a huge rush. Our new boss however had no idea how to run a cafe and liked to act like she did. She made several changes without consulting us that made our jobs harder to do, made changes to prices in the computer system without telling us but left the signs unchanged so people were getting charged more and throwing a fit about it, calling us liars. Its hard enough getting yelled at over little things but over something a manager did wrong? That's just hard to take. She weren't  a very good listeners either as we told her several times about changes yet she constantly asked about them like we never did anything and on several occasions I had long talks with her that she claims she "doesn't remember ever having."

My co-workers were awesome! One had a love of books and moves and we bonded over that, the other was our supervisor and she was super sweet and made me laugh a lot

The hardest part of the job was the attitude from people. they were downright horrible.

The most enjoyable part of the job making drinks~! Especially when I came up with one of my own recipes and it actually sold well! From that I was able to learn how to mix flavors and see what tasted best with what. I managed to learn a lot.

● Work-life balance
The work life is not good, to many favour,jast like family owned company, brothers, sisters family members are all together that's why most people living every two to three weeks.

● Pay & benefits
People are under paid for the work they are doing,some people for example will do three different jobs in a day for a small pay, for example there was an African guy that was working there, can bake and the same time cook breakfast and also help in patient service (tray line)but a good worker like him with 18years,suffered for the company with some pay just let go (fired) for something that is not exactly true, just hate and jealousy and more so because he is an African not born here,most workers taken the company as private property,they can do what they want to anyone.

● Job security and advancement
Promotion can only be giving to people they know and like, not the hard working people and even more raise will be giving certain people"Who knows you"

● Culture
I think it time to go over the way people are treated and too many families together, and even human resources cannot make clear investigation about anyone fired or leave without any proper investigation, they just take what they told them or wrote to them without them going to investigate.for example if a manager or a supervisor dont like, you are gone because no one will investigate for you they just accept what they are told or statement giving to them.

● Overall
Please find out why after one or two weeks, worker's leaving,too much difference,who knows you-too much family members.people are not treated well,they can fired people as they want to because human resources cannot go investigate,they just take what they are told or written to them without finding the actual facts on the floor and so if a manager or a supervisor dont like you, well you are gone.
That's why the turned out is very low, experience and hard working person are kicked out.

Before you decide to accept any position within Morrison Healthcare, be aware of the contract. Ask about this before you sign any agreement. You will be put in a position where you have to fill any position that calls out, including dishwasher, Patient dining associate, cook, cashier, etc. and when Morrison comes to audit, you better have also completed all your paperwork. You can't use the excuse of being short staffed.  Hopefully you don't need to contact HR because they don't respond. The company will sugar coat everything with they are there to support you but in the end you are just a number and they only need you to help run the department so they can get back to their office on the other side of town while you are drowning with all the work that is expected from you. Hopefully you can also keep your hospital score above the benchmark goal so you don't get asked what you are going to do to get those scores up. The Hospital is on a budget and Morrison is also on a budget so you have no control of  when you are allowed to post a position to fill. So if you are a hard worker and work hard enough, they won't have to get anyone else because they will see that you can handle it on your own and don't need anyone. If you are salary, you will be expected to work 10 hours and more than 10 if there is a call out. So in the end you basically are making $15hr or less after working more than 50 hours a week. Expect to get a call when people call out on your day off too. You will be on call for the rest of your time there. All employees call out constantly. If I had a dollar for every call out, I would be rich by now. That was my experience though. Hopefully it's not yours. 

having been hired or given employment by Morrison health is already a good opportunity the company has given me. to me to make my typical day at work enjoyable and fun  I have to condition myself to a happy spirit or else any work will become dull. as a worker I always make myself love the job or work I get into for me to succeed in such work.  Management has their own way or standard procedures they themselves as an employee follow or adheres to  in order to manage their workforce, They can be strict or they can be fun with the workers if the workers are cooperative and follows the rules and regulations of the company. The workplace is of diverse culture and somehow even if a worker tries to fit in to everyone there will be some worker who will try to up others especially the new comers which I have experienced working at Morrison Healthcare. however the managers are quick to resolve such issues which is a plus to the managers; The  hardest part of the job is heavy pushing and heavy lifting. I survived it for three months except when I was asked to procure 9 boxes of supplement boxes from the store room and pile it to the kitchen cold room .such incident kind of gave a toll on my physical body and so when I went to work the next day and carry on the usual job I do I suffered  high blood pressure. from that day on I did not feel good and so I was not able to work the next day and so on. and so I decided to resign because I can no longer move well. I had to rest and submit myself to medical treatment. 
But I love my job at Morrison and enjoy interacting with everyone there even with the managers cause they are all kind to me.

I worked in several sites/hospitals with this company. The type of hospital makes a lot of difference on how your experience as a Dietitian will be. Management can also become an issue if it’s not great. My manager was not really helpful and although she will not micromanage us she will also not help when we were swamp with patients in top of being low staffed. The company does not make an effort to explain what they have to offer for us in terms of growth. There is no pay ladder. There is not a great difference if you have a master or certification on your salary. They will always give you a 2-3% raise every year no matter how much you do/excel because “that’s what they are giving to everybody”.  They will also give you 100 excuses when you ask for a raise even though you participate in QAPI programs, help in the kitchen when they are low staffed, spend more time with patients doing NFPEs for malnutrition Dx which is really important for their malnutrition program (also important to patient care but more than that it gives revenue to the hospital), help everyday with coverage staying more than 10 hours a day because load is crazy. The turnover is crazy as Dietitians usually last 2-5 years. Recommend this company if you are an entry level RD interested in clinical nutrition mainly to acquire experience. Always ask for more money during interview process and probably move on to better things in ~2years.

Right from the start, this company talks a good game to pull you in but nothing is what they tell you. They don't tell you how completely rude and disrespectful the staff is. Or how hostile they are and how toxic and negative the environment is. I only lasted a month because of how terrible those people are and how negative the work culture is. Many who work there in the hospital kitchen have been there for 10 plus years, some even 20 and 30 years and they are so nasty to new people, ESPECIALLY supervisors. They are argumentative and combative and have free reign because upper management doesn't do a thing to correct the situation. Associates don't accept delegation at all, they are also very unhygienic and refuse to follow proper food handling practices and sanitation. They disappear for extended periods of time and patients are left without getting their meal or having  to wait hours for it because they just don't care about doing the work. Upper management doesn't train properly and you will be thrown to the wolves almost immediately and scrutinized for not knowing what to do. There is lots of turning a blind eye to horrendous behavior in regards to respect for people as well as respect for the food. I felt helpless and I hated every minute I spent there. There is lots of favortism as well as open retaliation, aggression and sabotage from co workers. If you value your sanity and have self respect, then please don't apply!!

The staff in the building, the client, and my direct team were truly the best part of the job—supportive, upbeat, and hardworking. We maintained a clean kitchen with three consecutive 5-star Steritech audits and strong retail sales.

Cons:
Unfortunately, upper management does not allow you to hire enough staff to be truly successful. You’re expected to figure everything out on your own with little to no training. Despite strong performance, you're met with random criticism, often from outside accounts who don’t fully understand operations. It frequently felt like working on an island—handling multiple roles without support or backup. There’s no real work-life balance. Additionally, I experienced and witnessed discriminatory behavior toward women in leadership—contributions were often overlooked, and concerns dismissed. This created a toxic environment that made it harder for women to succeed or be taken seriously

What I learned:
How to manage independently under pressure, maintain standards despite setbacks, and keep things running even when support was lacking.

I accepted this job excited to be a part of Compass and have an opportunity for good benefits and growth. Instead I was met with dishonesty and a huge lack of support. Many of the criticisms I was faced with when I first started didn't apply to my actions, lack of actions, or job duties for the role and time I was assigned. In fact, after coming in early as a Manager to check my email before starting my duties I was told it was unprofessional of me as a "Working Manager" to check my email more than maybe once a week. I disagreed since we get Red Alerts and food safety is a priority in my opinion. 
Trying to make this career work, I realized only the Director and the Assistant Director are given the grace to make personal appointments during the work day. Working Managers are not allowed to leave or be late regardless if there was a family or personal matter that took priority in that Working Manager's day. 
I enjoy having a career where there are challenges to be met, people to train, and growth. I was expected to work as an hourly associate, and not make overtime. In fact for the majority of the time I stayed with the account there were no hourly associates to train or lead. There was no opportunity to grow or network with Compass since there was so much at stake for each Manager to complete. 

As an experienced foodie with management background, I find Morrison's Healthcare Management / Compass Group to be a friendly place to work and an especially great opportunity for those wishing to begin a career in the food service industry.  There are advancement opportunities for those who work hard.  After a relatively short period of time I was able to advance from a position of Catering Associate, Cook, Baker, Cold Foods Department lead to a position as Retail Supervisor.
The knowledge gained through the various ongoing training programs is invaluable in providing safe and nutritious meals for patients and guests. Being the company that provides all meals for every patient, guest and employee is a huge job and requires a large, multi-talented crew. In addition to providing breakfast, lunch and dinners for patients and employees the company also caters special events, banquets, business luncheons and dinners. The hours are great and management is generally relatively easy to work with and willing to accommodate an occasional schedule request.   There is an employee meal program that saves big bucks vs dining out. There are health insurance benefits available for those who qualify via payroll deductions as well as other company perks.

Morrison Healthcare is contracted by Novant Health to handle the Food and Nutrition department of the Novant Forsyth hospital. If one of Morrison's employees performed as badly for them as the company itself does for Novant, they would almost assuredly be fired.

Working for Morrison comes with a lot of the cons you would expect out of any food service job. Customers can be a pain, you're regularly expected to go above and beyond in your work for mediocre compensation, and scheduling can range from barely manageable to outright unreasonable. The management has been also been a mess for the past few months due to various key members stepping down and Morrison at large being unwilling to spend the time or money to properly replace them.

There are upsides, if you're good at your job you're granted a decent amount of freedoms (and added responsibility without added pay, unfortunately). Most of the people you interact with are nurses and doctors that work at the hospital so they're not as likely to be rude. And if you stay long enough to carve a niche out for yourself you can get into a pretty sweet deal.

But overall Morrison repeatedly fails to do what it needs to do for the hospital at large, and its employees both at the entry-level and upper management. It's no surprise so many from both groups leave.
