A great workplace where you are able to advance within the company as several colleagues were able to do so. It is a 35 work hour week, either the option of doing a 5 or 4 day work week. Benefits are one of the biggest perks (vacation, sick time, PTO, sick time bonus, paid holidays, etc). Management is great, and managers go above and beyond to help and support. As long as you are doing your work efficiently and on time, there is no micromanaging. You are able to work remote up to twice a week.
During COVID-19, we continue to still work remote to keep ourselves and consumers safe.
Some consumers are more demanding than others which make it difficult but coworkers and management always try to help as much as they can. It is a non-profit organization so pay is low.

I absolutely loved working here. Everyone helps and supports one another. Great management. Four day work week is a game changer. 35 hour work week. Benefits are amazing.  I got a bonus for not using all of my sick time. I feel they were generous with holidays/time off. They are very flexible. You pick your schedule in most positions. Monthly staff meeting is strictly kept to half an hour so you can focus on getting your work done the rest of the time. A lot of jobs can work remote some of the time. You work hard but are never expected to take any of it home after hours. They really appreciate the work that you do.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Peer support. Peer training is helpful as well. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Not having enough family support to help seniors age in place. Need more funding from EOEA to give additional support hours- homemaking, personal care attendents and Meals on wheels. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Awesome. Flexible hours, many options for beginning and ending your day. Great benefits. This agency has won numerous awards as one of Boston's best places to work. Diversity is encouraged. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Changes daily depending in your role.

The people I work with are great, the pay is more than fair, and it feels good knowing I'm appreciated by my supervisors (which is often rare in other jobs I've worked) as well as the folks I deliver to.

This may sound like another review written by management, but I assure you I'm just a dude who likes his job. I only wish the position had more hours, as the short schedule makes it difficult to get by without a second job. If you're retired, a student, or looking for a morning job, I highly recommend working here.

I loved working at MVES. The only reason I left was because I moved. My supervisor was supportive and did not micro manage. I was able to work autonomously. I had the opportunity to attend many paid trainings onsite and earn CEU’s. I would go back there in a heartbeat if I could.

Flexible hours and great customer service to the consumer, but clicks within the organization are hard to overcome. At first it seemed to not be an issue, but became pretty clear after a couple of months. It is what it is and there is nothing you can do about it. I wish the company nothing but the best!

I worked there two years in HR. The flexible schedule work schedule is beneficial however the workload at the company is very excessive especially for case managers. Leadership at the organization is not the best at communicating their vision to employees which leads to confusing changes. Leadership at the company also lacks diversity.

Lots of problem solving/troubleshooting issues and making sure you were on top of everything all at once. Coworkers were amazing and supportive as well as my manager, never a question that couldn't be asked. 

Typical day 
- Checks VM and e-mails
-schedule HV 
- Meet one or two Consumers 
-Schedule transportation 
- file documentation in Consumer's records 
-discuss difficult cases with Nurse or Supervisor

It was a great place to work. Very friendly and caring about it's clients and employees. There were yearly bonuses, even if it was a small gift card or extra paid time off. Optional 4 day work week was wonderful!
