Those who know NCR, are well aware the organization has been around for almost one hundred-thirty years.  It's no small feat for any company to stick around that long!  They've seen the good, the bad, the ugly, even the truly horrifying and (like their products, services, practices, and procedures) they evolved through it all.  They just rolled up their sleeves, committed to achieving the best end result possible and got to work.  They balanced their risks and benefits, and they didn't let their challenges define them; even if they had to accept losses.  They learned from the losses, overcame the challenges, and bounced back with more strength and resolve every time.  Their core values have always been the hallmark of the organization as a whole; but they are defined, even still today, by how they overcome every challenge they face.  It all boils down to two words, "evolution" and "reciprocity."  When I say "evolution," I apply the word in broad context; meaning everything at NCR is constantly evolving.  From business products and services, to business practices, to communication strategies, to field services best practices and more.  What makes NCR such an equally exciting and challenging entity to work with (notice I did not say "work FOR") is every single contributor in the organization (from senior executives to janitors) makes up this living, almost breathing, entity known as NCR; and everyone is genuinely-invested in... wait for it... THEIR CUSTOMERS' SUCCESS!  That's right... NCR moves because of the world, and the world transacts more and more every day because of NCR; but without successful, satisfied customers, there would be no need for NCR.  Which is the second part of that "special sauce:" reciprocity.  All the great folks working with NCR give their all every day to ensure they are not just delivering on their reputed  high-standards of excellence, they are always working on ways to exceed those expectations; to set new standards of excellence.

Of the organizations I have worked with, during my professional tenure, NCR has been the only one to "walk the talk," so-to-speak.  I have always been pleased to see just as many women as there were men working the same roles; from Customer Engineer, to corporate offices.  It is still refreshing to know this is an organization that truly wears a "gender blindfold" when it comes to employment opportunity.   It doesn't stop there.  Leadership and colleagues are sincerely invested in mutually-beneficial exchange of knowledge.  This fosters a strong culture of support and team connection at every level; not just nuclear "cells" within the organization's infrastructure.  Achievements really are recognized and commensurately rewarded.  Mistakes are treated as opportunities for positive improvement and professional development.  When things get rough, everyone chips in and makes the dream work.  Advancement opportunities are genuinely available for those who desire to move up the chain; and folks are genuinely encouraged to pursue their heart's desire when it comes to their career aspirations.  It's not always sunshine and puppies; but I challenge any person to produce irrefutable evidence supporting the existence of a one hundred percent stress free, sunshine and puppy every day, position.  If one exists, I sure haven't seen it yet.  During my time with NCR, I have worked with many great people.  I have enjoyed my fair share of successes, and a few pitfalls too.  Even on days when I wanted to just bury my head in the sand and desperately hope for an alien invasion of epic proportions, I have always enjoyed my work with NCR.  While they expect the best, they make sure personnel are equipped with the tools and knowledge to deliver the best; and you can bet your bottom dollar they deliver on their promises.

Compensation/Benefits
Just to be clear i have multiple degrees and certs. that only afford me a salary of 12.18 an hour. i started at 11.25 4 years ago..that should say enough for Compensation....Benefits are great medical dental paid time off sick time the works..So i believe that if they were to adjust their Compensation they'd get back to 5 stars in that category

Culture/Values
NCR used to care about your birthdays. and employee bonuses and what not..But they've just stopped caring i remember they USED to do mini luncheons for special occasions and make you feel really welcomed and apart of the family. But Now a days yeah right good luck with that they care about culture and values even less than the next company. As far as values goes they value three things here at NCR. PRODUCTION, THE CUSTOMER, AND EFFICIENCY ..Fix that issue and again they're back to 5 stars in that category.

Job Security/Advancement
HAAAAAAAA!!! Do you really want to know..Ive seen NCR hire 45+ PPL out of south Carolina (mostly) and other various places and then watch those same ppl get fired 8 weeks later..You will always be on your toes about having a job..And they might keep you 3 years 5 years or any untold number of years but always keep in mind that HERE if they can replace you THEY WILL Dont stick around here thinking they're loyal to you because you've been loyal to them IF YOU FIND A HIGHER PAYING POSITION SOMEWHERE TAKE IT!!!! you'll thank me later. Advancement is non existent in this company. You have no career path no clear advancement opportunities NOTHING...I really dont think they will ever change this about themselves 1 star for this ..

Management
Probably one of NCR's (Peachtree Location) biggest flaw..Look ppl i had 4 Managers that i answered to on one floor. WAYYYYYYYY too much micromanagement and none of them are Tech Savy if you catch my drift.. One tells you to do something then the next comes and says do it faster then the next comes and says work on something else then the last manager comes and scolds you for not working on the first project you were told to do. its a complete mess in there im telling you BE CAREFUL if possible ask for every request to be sent to you by email so you'll have a record to cover your TAIL with...1 star for that one...

Work/Life Balance
Im kinda iffy in this section.. While I like the work/life balance here. I honestly believe that its only appealing to me because im liked by the management. To put it simply its a biased work environment i've seen ppl be approved for days off to go to the hot springs vs ppl being denied days off to take care of sick relatives simply because they are either liked or unlike by a particular manager..its very unfair depending on who's bad side your on...and remember there are 4 ppls butts to kiss in most area's so your GOING to be on someone's bad side... Fix this and you'll get a 4 star rating.

This company might be a good place to get your first job, but there is no advancement in this company, and you will be mostly working on OLD TECHNOLOGY and HARDWARE. Take a quick look over the responsibilities of this position once again, now ... you could and likely will touch each one of those bullets in a day (or 14 hour shift)

The company has extremely unrealistic expectations. You are not allowed to have a routine in this job, and everything is always URGENT and needs addressed now. Management basically beats you with a stick by using rhetoric, and prods you with emails, text messages or phone calls.

It's unspoken and never told, but you are expected to do things on your own time such as email, online training, organizing/inventorying/shipping the many parts you are to carry around. Also all the projects/rollouts/retrofits... you get to read / print all the documentation ON YOUR TIME. Again, you will never hear this from management, but if you want to do a good job and succeed -- you "find a way to get it done" **wink / wink**.

You constantly have to check-in, update your "whereabouts" on a blackberry, and if your boss doesn't trust you, you are tracked with a GPS if necessary.

Co-workers can be back-biting and "spy" for managment. There is no respect from the Customer Engineers for management or the presistent need to have CE's do more and more with less and less.... Yes, it's a dead end job... if you are offerred a job here--RUN--don't walk... If you are hungry and need the job, it will feed you and that is about it! If you are well qualified for the position, be sure to negotiate the best money they will give you because there is no exceptions on increases, you will get nickeled and dimed on raises, rank and stacked againsted 200+ co-workers and the boss can only give 5% to the top 10% by evalutions (and that's no garauntee).

If you are good at playing politics or the "good ole boy" game... this might be the place for you, but if you like to work hard, smart and learn new technologies and have room to grow into a real technology job... do yourself a favor and keep applying elsewhere.

The benefits are in the middle of the road, but medical and dental ... are absolutely horrible.... looks good on the surface, but I haven't heard a good thing about neither one from any co-workers... Everyone says It's cheap insurance and you pay A LOT OUT OF POCKET. Of course NCR management has a different tier of insurance provided to them. NCR will tell you the insurance is normal, but that is the best thing about this company--if they tell you one thing, you can bet the bank on it ...it's just the opposite!

NCR did a major hiring blitz in late 2011 to cover new major accounts (but much less profitable). In mid 2012 they turned around, and started firing a huge percentage of employees (mostly tenured and higher paid) from every department. In several cases, they immediately hired new "green" replacements (with little or no experience) at a third less than the seasoned people they let go.

While I understood the need to make the numbers for stockholders; this massive cutting left customer engineers and their managers without the necessary supporting staff in parts, tech support, management or logistics.

What used to take 15 to 30 minutes to reach a client, became a drive of 30 to 90 minutes. Hold times for tech support went from a couple minutes to 20 minutes or an hour. New clients were added without due diligence being done, and supporting documents (parts lists, break-away drawings, and manuals) failed to be produced or distributed to us until weeks (or even months) after a clients systems needed to be serviced.

My branch of 8 people dwindled to 5, with only one CE (out of 5) having a tenure of more than 1 year. My branch had seen 4 manager changes in less than a year. And every three months came new directives, to add one more completed call per day (going from 5 completed calls to 8 calls a day). No longer could we do preventive maintenance, since we now only got credit for break/fix calls.

Similar horror stories were found in other divisions. What once was a extremely effective (although maybe a bit overweight) infrastructure, became anorexic, exhausted and barely survivable.

I've worked 20 years in IT, networking, POS systems, repairing, support, servers and workstations maintenance. I've also run 2 IT service companies over the span of 15 years. I'm not a disgruntled employee, but a business-minded, objective, and customer-focused team player.

I'm now looking to find an employer that bonds employees, teams, departments, and divisions together; instead of making them fight against each other; just to improve their numbers on a departmental P&L.. In my opinion, everyone should work together (as a whole) to make a company stronger. That will eventually raise profitability (as well as customer and employee satisfaction) even in a down economy.

NCR is a dual personality company.  They do certain things that make you feel supported like better technology to make your job easier and some attempts at employee recognition.  Benefits are decent.  But then there is the side of the company that looks at their employees as an irritating expense.  A few summers ago they monitored our gas usage claiming we were costing the company too much money in gas while at the same time demanding we drive long distances between customer sites ???  
Last summer they tried to make us pay the taxes on our company mandated vehicles we use to do our job. They even started taking out $50 a paycheck from us to pay those taxes.  An almost company wide revolt later made them change their minds and a few lawsuit challenges also made them admit that this tactic was a dubious business practice.  They eventually settled on adding 30 cents more to our total taxes taken from our paychecks.  What company looks to take money from their employee's paychecks???
The final straw for me is their latest tactic to cut costs at their employee's expense.  They have gone to using UNARMED guards to watch us at night while we service customer ATM machines full of cash in the middle of open parking lots.  They claim we can request an armed guard if we feel we need it, (but honestly we shouldn't have to, it should just be provided) and that the unarmed guards somehow make us safer based on some bogus data I think they conjured up just to justify this move. This is our safety and our lives.  This isn't something to mess with just so the company can save a few bucks.  This is the final bad decision, and I no longer feel safe working for this company.  They clearly care more about their bottom line than they do my life.

There was a manger shift in my district 3 times from the time of talking to NCR til leaving. Was thrown out to work with no training for 3 months 2 days into the job, never finished the online training. They finally had an opening in training so I had to go even though I was successfully doing the job already. I called ahead to make sure my prescriptions were honored in GA from KS and they said yes. I got down there to training and they won't refill my KS prescriptions a week into a month long training session. I had to go back home and they fired me. Ok. That could maybe expected because I didn't handle it right. The problem is they will lie about the reasoning of firing to make them "feel" more justified. These crooks didn't get me a gas card until 2 months in and I had to pay all expenses, when I turned them in# i was told I waited to long. They said I misused a company credit card to purchase my flight back home, when in fact I purchased the flight on my own dime. Stay away unless you are super desperate is all I can say. They will promise you cisco training also. Don't fall for it. It's the most basic Cisco cert available. It basically makes you "smart hands" for an engineer. Which means you hook up a rollover cable to your laptop and let them remote into your laptop. You don't need a certification to do that and that cert isn't even really known in the industry.  I never even heard about it til I came to NCR. Also in training you will hear that the job sucks and they fail to retain people. The instructor in the classroom worked at NCR as a tech, went and worked a full career as a police officer,  then came back. Its just a good ole boy system they still have in place and this place has a ton of potential, but I have personally seen them run off their best techs.

I was a finance analyst in Peachtree City, GA. The job was my first job out of college. I gained good experience. The people were nice. There was zero training. The job is what you make of it: you can chose to learn and try to grow or just do the minimum which is all that is expected of you. Once you know what you are doing, you are very self-directed. The company is very siloed. Also, lack of basic communication on the part of management was a big problem affecting the business. It got a little better over the years. Knowledge is power and people purposely withheld information to give them a leg up / make themselves feel like they were in control or to get back for having information withheld from them. The culture is laidback, maybe too much. There were constant changes-- outsourcing different business units, headcount reductions, system changes / upgrades--in the business that kept things interesting. Although, sometimes the outsourcing didn't go too well and headcount reductions aren't good. There is zero opportunity for advancement due to the fact that most of the finance / accounting function is being offshored / outsourced to Serbia or India, especially finance analyst thru senior finance analyst. During my time, the headcount in Peachtree City was reduced by ~30%, before I worked there it was reduced even more. Some people were overwhelmed with their workload. There is extreme pressure from executives and VPs to meet unrealistic results that put a lot of pressure on finance. Several people on LinkedIn had asked to me recommend them for a position, and I couldn't do it in good conscience.

Started employment at NCR before the company split (to atleos and voyix) and I moved over to the voyix side. We were told by executive leadership that our job roles and responsibilities would not change, but they did, drastically. Employees on the break/fix side were now also required to take on all the installation projects that were previously done by specified installers. The installer position was an opportunity with higher base pay and a more flexible schedule, but they fazed the position out of voyix and required those who still wanted to stay with the company to take a pay cut and become break/fix. 
Break/fix employees received no compensation for the new job role, which includes doing our original job, plus doing the work of another person, the installer. 
Pay increases are based solely off of metrics, with no room to negotiate and low pay increases even if your metrics are perfect.
Employees are just a number at NCR, and if you are not in a city, you will be set up to fail by all those above you. 
There are no team leads that are officially recognized, unfortunately that makes getting any advice relatively impossible. 
NCR used to be a place I would recommend, but since the split it seems they are tying up loose ends in order to sell to another company. It's not worth it to work here. 
You will lose your sleep, your work/life balance does not exist, you will be required to do more and more with no compensation by any means, and you will be treated as a burden if you have any personal things going on. 
The job is no longer worth the benefits and I warn to stay away. 

Full scale high call volume Reactive vendor support company. Services ownership from cradle to grave, upgrade projects, escalations, and vendor requested side jobs. HR attempts to manage the team managers within the call centers from offsite when there is an issue with one of their subordinates limiting the effectiveness of the manager and facility. No management training offered prior to promotions within. Online classes are offered through NCR University, but no College Credit given. Low morale due to false promises and designated favorites "clicks" within some management and subordinates causing lack of trust and team effectiveness. Not all co-managers can be trusted as they should be when working together as a team. It doesn't take long to discover who can be trusted and who can't. The biggest challenge is when contracts are drawn up with their vendors, the people making the decisions and agreements have no idea what it's like to take a call, support a technician, trouble shoot with the end user, service a store. It seems that none of these are taken in account as to what the helpdesk is really capable of supporting. It's all about how much money can we make in a short period of time. This causes missed SLA's and penalties and the company ends up losing money because the wrong decisions were made when the contract was written which causes ALL teams to fail and too lowers morale. The most satisfaction is helping subordinates reach their goals and witnessing their promotions.

Terrible!! Terrible!!!! Management, Unorganized, and very Unprofessional, No actual training at all with the products just a powerpoint overload and you start taking calls your 4th or 5th day there,
You are tier 1,2, and 3 no one to escalate cases to when you are stuck.
When asking management for help you receive no answer but if you don't close the case you are the one that takes the heat
No team meetings just strictly on calls all day so you never receive updates about new things changing with the system until someone calls about it and even you are unaware of these changes. 
Very Very High call volume because management refuses to hire new talent and will cuss and fuss at the team for having too many calls in the queue. 
The turnover rate is also very high so I wouldn't quit my job if I were you. Instead of investing time to properly train reps they will go through PRG (their temp provider) to hire new talent and fire the ones they have on the floor without giving any type of warning. 
There are only 8-10 reps working a 24 hour call center. If someone calls out you receive messages at 6 am. asking you to come in on your days off. If you decline to come in then you may be fired because they want to run you like a machine. You no longer have consecutive days off so your days off may be Monday and Thursday or other random days. The compensation is also not great for the work you actually do.
No holidays No weekends you name the worst they have it.

What makes this so bad is that they try to make a good first impression when interviewing you but will not speak to you when getting on the floor.
