Looking at these reviews I must speak up. Look at the trend you had some positive reviews at the beginning, prolly employees trying to get in netas good graces cuz it prolly seemed as the only way to be noticed back then. Other pro reviews look like managers trying to save face. Or, perhaps HR wants to get more people in then forget about them. 

The pro reviews just drop off 
They drop off around the time NETA choose to mass hire instead of investing in current employees. The same time employees couldn't get parking anymore. The same time locker space was full and they kept hiring. 

People who have been hired from outside the company to higher up positions have been related to others.
People have moved into positions where their relatives or significant other managed or leads. 

Co workers who have worked for two years plus for the company get over looked for people who just joined. Then at the same time if you have skill sets from previous jobs they just ignore it once you are in. 

Many people 30plus have not worked long here. I believe because work life balance is not really there. Stuff like hiring you on then two days later they tell you you have a new schedual. "Oh you didn't want to work weekends that's why you came to neta? Well you have to now."
 You get overlooked so many times while poor decisions are made for management hiring. You then realize the job is NOT secure. 

Neta will tell you you have to work a position 6 months but while you patiently await and dont apply anywhere you watch others move up before 6 months. 

NETA is sadly looking like another AMAZON
Mass gave licence to people with most money
People like that tend to focus on products and sales and not the employee
This shows by animinities crumbling (slushie machines) 
Lack of leadership in support roles 
Over flowing employee spaces 
Lack of poor review structure
No cross training plans
Allowing other employees to come in in any condition then giving them a leadership role. 
Most original employees have moved on or just left

NETA will tell you they are a new company and you just have to adjust. 
This is not okay because common workplace practices that are being mishandled by NETA have existed for years. 
It's why unions developed and why GOOD corporations have changed their ways for the better. 
These are common old problems that would have been stopped if the owners relied on experience forsight and history.
Seeing how NETA ran they did not plan on dealing with employees and relations or how to start right. Instead common problems come up like people calling out and they don't know how to proceed.  

Last November NETA went rec. Employees saw a huge increase and worked to push through the poor planning. Nothing has trickled down to the employee. 
They are hiring a 3rd shift though! Good for them.
While all the employees around the holidays were eager to see what neta had to say about our profits they pulled us all into a meeting and said they will most likely be selling to Surtera wellness. 

Nobody said anything 
Sell away before having to address the real problems. 
Hope it works out. 

Moral is low unless you started 2 months ago..just wait one more month. 

Look NETA has a new product. Cool!
But netas employees have been stagnant. 

If you are young and do not have Bill's or you are not the bread winner come to NETA you may  be happy not moving up! If you have Bill's and hoped this would be a career and you've found a home. This is one of those foster homes you found out took kids in for the money.

I was happy to get the job when I first started but then realized how unprofessional the place really was. Silly rules to try and impress DPH ( like wearing booties when stepping outside so as not to contaminate your shoes, but then you leave them on when re-entering the building only to track in what you picked up on your booties...how does that make sense ? ) In my tours I found many places that insects, snakes, heck even birds could easily squeeze in but thats okay. It is by no means an air-tight facility by any stretch of the imagination. Rules only apply to some people but not others. Some managers are very professional and always team players, some (actually only one) is just the opposite and likes to delegate and sit back watching everyone else do the work...and is NEVER a team player (transportation and environmental services knows who he is)...a very poor example of leadership.
You will always be pulled to work in other areas doing jobs you were not hired for...but i think they do mention this at interviews....happens a lot. Most employees become friends at least at work...some (select few) can be cold as ice and just walk by you without even. looking at you. They know who they are. 
    Security has a complete different meaning in this company. Here in security its okay to come to work stoned (more than just weed for some) and remain that way your entire shift and never ever worry about passing a drug test.  The more sloppy you look the better here. Hippies n all ! They will hire just about anyone for security.  Security also means Shipping and Receiving, Garbage disposal, Locker Room attendants, laundry workers, you name it we do it. The Security manager is very reasonable to work for but isn't around that much. Some security personnel feel they have seniority over others and can tell others what to do....helps them compensate I guess.  I would really hate to see  security's reaction in a real crisis situation here. It is laughable as another ex-security off. put it in another review. Better hope someone is carrying their phone (another policy violation here) and can dial 911 fast. The more above and beyond you go...the more they will expect it so don't ever make that mistake. While I was there I saw lots of security personnel get out of that dept and move to something else more interesting and constructive. These were the smart ones.
There really is a revolving door effect here, not just in security but everything. Communication needs to improve big time.
There is NO 401K or other retirement incentive here as one recent reviewer said.

When I first started at NETA, I believed that they could do no wrong. I was SO excited to work for the weed factory that I would have gone along with anything that they told me. It was a lot of fun in the beginning, and there's an automatic pay raise after 6 months of work, but now I'm wondering if that raise is to keep up morale of the people that they don't want to leave. I will say that the company treats employees really well in that they throw us company parties, occasionally order food for us to eat in the break room, and even had a massage therapist in the break room for us. But AGAIN I'm just wondering if that's to keep the wool over our eyes. This company is really great at pretending they care. They say that they love to have employee patients, but that's just something that sounds good. Because when an employee patient is actually sick or is having complications or ANYTHING of the sort, upper management will either keep you in the same spot while others around you are constantly rewarded, or they'll promote you to a position that they know may be too much for someone, and wait for them to make a mistake or get angry so corporate can have an excuse to fire them. Meanwhile, surprise, one of the inventory team member's twin sister got a position in inventory almost immediately while people way better suited for the position were passed over. I've made a lot of lifelong friends here, and I'm so thankful for that, but there's a reason behind so many people leaving bad reviews that isn't just bitter ex-employees. It really isn't that great of a company to work for.

This company was one of the first licensed MMD in Massachusetts and wasted no time to squander the opportunity they were given.

Mold and other plant ailments were a constant presence that left entire batches ruined, yet were still pushed through to the store fronts.
No actions were taken to proactively end the problems, only to reactive actions. Working with plants and dried material caused serious lung irritation due to mold. 3M filtered respirators were needed constantly to get tasks done. Product given to patients were often harsh and had the potential for spores that managed to get past unscrupulous testing methods.

Mid-level management was filled with well intentioned people that sincerely wanted the best for this new industry. Unfortunately many of them were eventually terminated and replaced. Hiring for upper tier jobs (cult, nursery, lab, supervisor) were often out-of-company newbies. 
They would invite employees to apply internally, only to double back and keep them on the line.
Hiring was not based on merit and more so on nepotism.

Legitimate grievances were met with weekly lunches and over the top parties that could have otherwise have gone back to employees. The amount of wasted time and money was tremendous. This review could continue but giving them another minute of my time is not a worthwhile endeavor. Neither should it be yours. Look elsewhere 

The collaboration between people across varying teams in unlike any I've seen in my employment history. The singular goal of providing medicine to patients in need is what unites the three branches of this company. While the work in customer service can be daunting, the training you receive here prepares you to educate your patients and aid in their treatment. There is nothing better than hearing patient success stories of relief from what ails them. 
Your efforts at work do not go unnoticed, as the company has pretty cool surprise cash bonus, gift cards, and other employee recognition programs (like tickets to concerts or Red Sox games). The actual benefits (health, dental, vision) are AMAZING. Honestly, they are reason enough on their own to work here!
I've never had any trouble with upper management, but they certainly do expect a lot and will push you to do your best. If being open to constructive criticism and learning is not your thing, NETA (or any job anywhere) may not be the place for you. NETA prefers to promote from within - within 6 months of starting employment I was promoted myself. It feels great to be recognized and rewarded for my efforts!

Started just after Mass went rec. Absolute nightmare. 

When I was interviewed I made it known that I was looking for a very specific set of hours part time, due to school and my health. 

I should have taken the hint when I was called to begin training 40 hours the first week in spite of my request. Seems like no matter what, I was never receiving the hours I requested. The straw that broke the camels back was when they scheduled me to work during a time when I had a final exam. Upon bringing this to their attention, I was essentially told to swap shifts or tough luck. they DO NOT care about your schedule. that cant be overstated. 

Pay is decent for a glorified cashier gig, but I didnt have a single moment to myself. Customer after customer approaching you without even asking if youre ready. Shouting over everyone in order to communicate, because theres 20 registers in a 100sq foot area. One night had me yelling so much, I lost my voice for an entire week. 

This place eventually took its toll on me physically and mentally. I landed a different job where I have enough time to take a swig of water in between customers, and have zero regrets. Id rather make 13/hr and maintain a sense of human dignity than 15/hr and get worked like a literal horse.

NETA is a true innovator and leader in the cannabis industry. Executives have clear visions and listen to the advice, opinions, and ideas of employees in all positions. The environment is very competitive, as there are many employees with many skills. However,  they truly invest in the staffs development and 99% of the time will hire from within when advanced positions become available. When they see that spark in someone, they will really take the time to invest in their future. 

Benefits are excellent and pay is extremely competitive. NETA keeps it fun through a multitude of added benefits including company outings & events, keeping the food stocked in the break rooms, employee recognition programs, and periodic catered lunches. 


Being that this industry is so new, and the company is growing so fast, consistent change can be rough on some, and is not for everybody. There are always learning curves and challenges that are faced, but with everything, NETA learns and grows as a company and as individuals. For those who are along for the ride it is one of the most rewarding and incredible experiences you could ever have.

Medical marijuana is a fun new industry. Unfortunately, it has quickly become another huge moneymaker for the higher ups and just another low paying, high expectation hourly gig where the parent company makes huge cost saving cuts including major layoffs and piles on the responsibilities to the remaining team without any increase of pay. "Big weed" has taken over.. I was promised a raise when I took on supervising another team on top of the team I already supervised. Not only did I not get the increase for the extra responsibilities, I did not get the yearly raise I deserved and bonuses were eliminated due to the parent company losing money. I then was asked to "keep up the great job," and told, "maybe next year will be different." I left soon after that. What motivation does one have to do an excellent, above and beyond  job (or even stay) when there is no guarantee of A. receiving a fair raise when deserved and earned and B. no guarantee of being let go due to the parent company doing poorly?

You will find a ton of false information on here about NETA.  If you truly want to know about this organization and what it is like to work there you need to do more than read the few assorted reviews on here. A lot of people come into this industry thinking its their golden ticket and then are shocked when they aren't the CEO within a year. Talk to the people they serve, go and visit different dispensaries--I guarantee you will see the difference.

This is in the fast paces MJ industry. So if you are looking for something like a super smooth established company--this is not for you! That has nothing to do with NETA its the industry as a whole. Again, do your research.  Do you believe everything you read online?

If you want excitement, if you love problem solving, never having a boring day NETA is for you!  PS also some of the most amazing coworkers you could ever imagine all work there too!

I've been with NETA for over 2 years.  While I can see how some of these negative reviews came to be, I don't think that an accurate picture is painted here.  NETA is not even a 5 year old company.  We have grown exponentially and continue to explode as a leader in the cannabis industry.  What I love the most about this company is the constant desire to be better than they were yesterday.  This is true across the board.  There is constant work on improving employee recognition and retention, there is work on all levels to improve communication, systems, practices and to be the best that we all can be.  I personally was effected negatively by the rapid growth in the company and while I could have quit and threw in the towel, I stayed the course and am grateful that I did.  If you are hard working, have a positive attitude and want to grow in the cannabis industry, this is the place for you.
