Extremely busy & challenging work. I’m grateful to have the autonomy to make decision to help customers.  Autonomy is earned by making good decisions around the 3 circles.  Customers, Stockholders and Employees. 

Executive Management is exceptional. 
Middle management tends to lack leadership skills.  There is a lot of turnover in the branches and the loan processing area.  Again some leaders in these areas are terrible.  They dwell on negatives.  On calls they talk about the errors on every call when they should be a leader and talk to the people employees making the mistakes.  It’s gets old and negative.  

There are some longtime  employees that need to go they are stuck in their ways, but managers don’t deal with it.  They pass the trouble makers, time wasters, passive aggressive employees  to other departments,  they should coach them out.  

Hardest part of the job is working with old outdated programs.  The phones don’t work, can’t just talk to someone in operation you have to put in a case for everything.  Mistakes are made so you need to keep track and follow up to be sure cases are done correctly for customers.  

Most enjoyable is taking care of our customers and working together with peers to help customers.  





Nicolet has a great culture and truly serves the communities it is a part of. Their core values empower employees to be real and honest and make decisions. You can also grow within the community if you stick through it and put in the time.  The executives make time to introduce themselves to everyone, even lower on the totem pole. 
However, there is not a lot of diversity amongst its employees (especially long term and higher ups). They also pay less than I feel they should compared to other similar companies. Overall, it’s a great place to work if you enjoy giving back to the community, internal growth opportunities, and being empowered to make your own decisions. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
The pay is comparable with other banks in the area

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The banking systems and using sales force. And dealing with certain employees 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Very corporate and greed. I feel like they charge the customers for every little thing that they can.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
It was stressful and the way I was trained was horrible. On my first day I was thrown onto a computer and expected to know what to do which made me look and feel unprofessional in front of the customers. They should have made me shadow and go to the class in Green Bay before making me work on actual customers.

This is a sad review coming from someone who loved working for Charter Bank and when merging with Nicolet Bank back 2 years ago everything went downhill. There is no sense of pride to work there anymore.  If you want to work somewhere where they will fire you on the spot and not have to explain their reasoning or even give you an opportunity to fix anything.  They’re quick to fire and then will drag out finding someone while leaving the current employees to pick up the slack.  Save yourself the time and find an another community bank who actually cares about their employees and not just how much money is being brought in. 

Working at Nicolet Bank takes very high commitment in comparison to other companies in the area. The work you do directly impacts the company. Projects can get stressful as there are multiple high priority projects going on at once sometimes. When that isn't happening, there is a lot of room to explore and implement new technologies and patterns. Everyone contributes to the team. 

You get to make decisions regarding customers within reason. They have been good to us as employees and care about us. I enjoy working for them. I don't know if there is a typical day since we serve the public and you never know what might come up during the day but you always have support staff to help you out. They like to keep up with the current activities of the public so there is continuous learning. They also like the employees to be involved with the community. Nicolet cares about the communities they serve.

This company is constantly expanding through acquisitions adding to an already maxed out workload for staff. Each acquisition is handled differently and there are no procedures in place. Training is not sufficient. They push for healthy living but don’t give time for those healthy activities. Many times people work through their breaks because the workload is so high. 

Everyone that works there is a whole team and helps one another. They believe they can find great people and can train them to do anything from there. Was blessed to have a management staff that believed in me. No micromanaging, but management was still very involved in day-to-day activities.

You will get blamed for things other people did and still have to clean their mess.
Manager will manipulate you and make everything about them.  
Good luck calling off, you will be retaliated against.
They do not follow their own policies and procedures. 
Upper management won’t help you either. 
HR is useless if you want your issues resolved. 
If you decide to work here, have a back up plan because they will fire you if you complain about management.

Do something different every day

Not have much to do boss not now anything about maintenance

Not friendly branch manager not nowing what it takes to get something done

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Get in pc clock in check work orders if there are any make calls to get them done
