Some days I am able to stack my patient visits and keep travel minimal, while other days require more driving, which is relatively standard in home infusion. The caseload provides exposure to a wide range of infusion therapies. I have gained extensive experience with diverse therapies and have developed strong skills in patient education, time management, and adaptability in a home-based care setting. Management turnover has been frequent, with several leadership changes occurring over the past few years (5 different managers in 2 years). At times, expectations are communicated through threats of corrective action rather than through a supportive or collaborative style, which can be challenging. Nurses are called out in meetings for not being compliant with annual requirements, even if they have completed them. Not sure if it's the manager not updating their list before the meeting or a system issue. Personally, this type of leadership style is not for me. The culture has positives and challenges. While flexibility in scheduling and the ability to request re-staffing for coverage are appreciated, it can be discouraging when new employees are hired at higher rates than long-standing staff who have shown loyalty. The most challenging aspect is when long-term patients are reassigned, sometimes for reasons that appear financially driven, as this can disrupt the continuity of care and the relationships built with patients. The most rewarding part is building connections with patients and making a difference in the lives of those with rare and often debilitating conditions. The ability to self-schedule and focus on patient-centered care is also a key benefit.

I’ve worked with Naven Health since its inception, and sadly, the experience has only deteriorated over time. There is an overwhelming lack of support and appreciation from corporate leadership for field staff. As a nurse, you’re treated as nothing more than a name and a body to assign, there’s no recognition of the effort, time, or care you put into your patients.

You’re expected to take any case thrown your way, regardless of how far the patient is or whether it aligns with your schedule. And even if you do go above and beyond to accommodate a distant patient, they’ll often restaff the case with a new nurse who lives closer, with no regard for the effort you already put in. It’s clear that the decisions are driven by profit, not patient continuity or nurse satisfaction.

Communication is chaotic at best. Multiple staffers will reach out about the same case, often unaware of each other’s outreach. Many are juggling upwards of 40 cases at a time, which leads to confusion, miscommunication, and burnout. The disorganization is frustrating and unprofessional.

Medication delivery is another serious issue. Patients frequently report problems with Option Care—meds being delivered late or not at all. Restaff a and urgent needs are often ignored until the last minute, putting both the nurse and patient in a difficult position. It’s become increasingly obvious that no one in executive leadership is paying attention to these systemic issues or the feedback from patients and field staff alike.

I stayed as long as I did hoping things would improve, but the pattern has been consistently downhill. Naven Health has shown repeatedly that it prioritizes profits over people, both patients and nurses. 

I am  full time  in home infusion nurse. I came into this job with 30 years of experience as an RN and over 5 years of experience in home infusion. I have my RN, by BSN, and my IGCN (Immunoglobin Certified Nurse). 
I came into this team feeling valued for my education and experience. Since joining, I have had encouragement to further my education and skills. 
Management is accessible, supportive and a daily resource, but not overbearing or ‘micromanaging’ the nurses in the field. They hire experience, competent practitioners and let us work. I feel like my voice is heard and that I am a valued part of this team. 
One challenge with the job is managing my personal time, my work time and company resources. Because we travel to our patients, we have to be cognizant to balancing good, consistent nursing care with good resource management. I do feel like management supports me providing the best care that I can for my patients. 
The most enjoyable part of the job, is interacting with the patients on a daily basis. So many moving parts go into getting referrals, navigating insurance coverage, filling the physical orders and delivering them to the patients, but I , as the infusion nurse, get to enjoy seeing the results of all of that work as our patients receive life saving and changing treatments. It is truly an honor and I feel blessed to be able to work in such a patient driven environment. 

I have worked for Naven Health for 5 years, and can honestly say that it's the BEST job I've had in my 25 years working in healthcare.
If you love infusion therapy and value flexible scheduling, 1:1 care, travel opportunities, and great management... this is the company to work for.
In the time that I've been employed by Naven, I've developed true connections with my patients.  They feel more like family than they do patients.  I don't even feel like I'm working a job... it feels more like I'm caring for loved ones and I look forward to seeing my patients every day.
As a single parent who previously struggled with juggling schedules, this opportunity has been a blessing in disguise.  Flexible scheduling, teamwork with other nurses, open communication with management, and great compensation are just a few highlights of why I love being employed by Naven.

A typical day at work: Each visit offers a unique experience-navigating different home environments, building one-on-one relationships, and adapting to a variety of health needs. Home care allows me to focus solely on one patient at a time, creating a deeper connection and trust. 
However it is not without its challenges. Travel, unpredictable schedules, and working independently require strong time management and critical thinking. Still, the autonomy, patient appreciation, and ability to make a difference in someone's life make it fulfilling. Home care infusion is where compassion and clinical skill meet in the comfort of the patient's home-and that makes every day meaningful.

Pay is great. The ability to set your own hours is nice. Naven management has been supportive. One difficulty is coordinating with pharmacies and MD offices when there are various delays and issues (like ordered supplies not arriving, insurance hurdles, etc.). Option Care Health, the corporation who bought multiple infusion agencies, does have a few hurdles. Depending on the geographic region, there are not as many offers at it seems like there should be. Option Care tried to require RNs to get a questionable medical procedure a few years ago. They are fairly strict about overtime, even though there can be other weeks with low hours. The handbook language sounds a lot like a non-compete agreement, though it may not be said in those words. 

The staff and management is excellent and easy to work with. The patient care is great, and the work we do in infusion home health is truly helping people.  Additionally the continuity in care is a huge plus both for the RN and the patient.  I also enjoy the travelling and seeing the surrounding communities to my own home. The workplace culture is positive and modern, with inclusion for all who are qualified and eager for success. Education is self paced and easier to accomplish because it can be done at literally any time of the day. Being solo can have its challenges, but you are truly not alone. There are helpful policies, support plans, and a vast team of knowledgeable resources in place to get you through even the toughest of times. Direct positive customer satisfaction and genuine gratitude is the most enjoyable part of the job.

I am a PRN infusion nurse for 3 separate companies. Although Naven pays a little less than my other jobs, I still make significantly more than I would at the bedside. Not only that, I am paid my full hourly rate from the time I leave until the time I get home. I get to work whenever I want pretty much and however much I want as long as there are needs. I have been pleasantly surprised with how much I enjoyed this position. I was a very subpar IV starter when I took this position. However within just a few weeks, I became very proficient and am now an excellent IV starter so that has really boosted my confidence as a nurse. You also get to see a lot of the same patients over and over and see a lot of rare disease process.

There are more patients that I could see than I have time to see.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The work environment is very supportive. They provide all of the necessary education to ensure that the nurses are competent and knowledgeable about the therapies we administer.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
I generally see from 1 to 4 patients in a day. This depends upon the length of their visit and distance I need to travel. In the home I evaluate my patient, establish vascular access administer medications while monitoring the patient’s response

Recently switched from a previous infusion company to Naven and overall I am 100% pleased. It was a little slow to start as many of the nurses onboarding with me have never been infusion nurses but I am glad I had the patience to continue on boarding because it has been worth it. The patients are great. Lots of referrals. You can work as much or as little as you want. I feel they listen to the nurses on the front line. While some changes were not the best they were great at listening to feedback from the staff to make their employees happy. I feel that never happens from a company so I couldn’t be happier to be with a company that actually listens to their staff. Their health insurance benefits could be a little better so I’m not sure I’d take a full time job  but overall it’s great!
