I traveled across the country, so after a travel day into whichever city we were working, we would head to the arena 8-10 hours before tipoff, puck-drop, kickoff, etc. and expand the television truck. Depending on the size of the event, 15-30 would begin to take the equipment (Cameras, Audio Equiment) and begin to set everything up for a live sports broadcast. My job was to assist these crew members with setup, teardown and any issues that would arise during the broadcast. 

During my apprenticeship, I learned what it takes to build, maintain and run mobile television studios. 

The hardest part of the job is the schedule, you could easily work for 16 hours, 4 to 5 days straight with very little sleep. 


The part I enjoyed the most was meeting new people in new places.

On paper, the benefits look like they outweigh the cons, however, when you dive in deep, expect to find no one standing there with a lifeline to save you. Work there for years and you will still go unnoticed because management is just too distant. They preach “one team” values, however a majority of the staff has never met. Work is all mainly client driven and if you reach out to management, they will do little to go against the client and help. 

They do not explain the job in detail. Co-workers are not team players. Training is not done from start to finish and information that you need to know is never relayed to you in a timely fashion in order to do your job efficiently. There is no manual or very good notes to follow. There is no work life balance only for some people in your department. If you don't fit into their clique then you will be an outsider never fitting in comfortably into the company or department.

Travel is difficult at times.

As an employee of this company.  I have learned a lot.  Time management and the management and co-workers were very good in all aspects, very helpful and dedicated as a whole.  Enjoyed working here, very friendly environment team members are friendly. Not stressful. Employment and health benefits are amazing here as well.

most enjoyable part of my job was the people I worked with.

Many 7 day weeks, many 16+ hour days, unrealistic deadlines, let many people go after huge projects, office polotics is toxic. Might be an okay place to work, if you're in your young 20s and have no family or friends.

Disorganized. Many disrespectful workers, rude, double standards, favorites chosen. Very high turnover rate. All people did was gossip and complain all day. It was like being in high school. Not much else to say. 

20/10 DO NOT recommend.
