Working in the Support department is the worst. You do your own work but also do things that other departments should be handling like IT related issues and implementation. They add on more work but no compensation to go with it, you dont even get yearly raises. In support, the only way to get a raise it to take a “tech test” which only has 2-3 levels. You are EXCLUDED from company activities by default because while they are line dancing and posting GIFS in chat all day, you’re actually WORKING and barely get to catch your breath due to the constant workload. Company holidays dont apply to support unless its Christmas and Thanksgiving. 

The CEO will send out e-mails praising every department except support, and when they do recognize support, its only because we say they never do, not because they actually appreciate us, or its in combination of other teams/departments. You will be over worked, highly monitored, berated for every little thing, and under-paid for all you do and have to learn in your role. 

I will say the sick time and pto policies are generous but that is all. You have to be a brown noser or LUCKY to get into another department and off the phones. There is no clear road for advancement when you are in support, I mean who REALLY wants to stay stagnant talking on phones for over 2 years?

The workplace culture is terrible. It was the most negative and hostile office I have ever worked in. Team members are allowed to lash out at one another and management does nothing (even yelling and using profanity). There is zero loyalty. Since Net Health took over, the office I worked at went from 63 employees to about 28 (less now). Only about four people are original to the company in Brentwood because of the turnaround and working environment. If they do not like the way you view something or like what you have to say, they will push you out. We had phenomenal people leave because senior management refused to listen to the truth and accept their knowledge regarding the product. Work-life balance is terrible along with the expectations. The insurance is absolutely dreadful. I learned that no matter what you, all the work you put in, the hours you put in, you do one wrong thing and they will crucify you. This company is great if you're looking for an all paid trip to Pittsburgh every July.

Pros

Since you will receive no guidance whatsoever, you will definitely learn if you are really a self starter within two weeks on the job. If you manage to quit before you are fired you have won at life and will probably feel empowered to accomplish anything.



Cons

Annual salary increases and advancement potential exist only in theory. You will quit or be fired long before they don't fulfill any promises. You might be asked to do something that compromises your ethics, if you have any. So don't work there if that's not your thing. The company doesn't do right by clients. But the clients will be the least of your concerns if you work here.



Advice to Management

Please find a more benign way to enjoy yourselves.

I joined Net Health in 2019 during a big transition period (they had just acquired Optima). I was impressed with the transparency of leadership during a time of such change and have continued to be impressed as leadership navigated difficulties during the Covid pandemic. I have seen the organization grow and be flexible within an ever changing market (moving to a 'work from anywhere policy', unlimited PTO program & inclusivity programs supported by leadership to name a few). I love that my work has a greater impact by servicing healthcare providers and their patients. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
The culture and people are fantastic. Great opportunities to build skills and evolve, but very stressful environment conducive of burnout.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Too many market segments to manage.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Supportive with incredible HR team dedicated to creating a dynamic, social, connecting culture. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Chaotic, too many things to do at one time.

Don't expect upward movement to be worked towards to or the ELT or other members of Upper Management to actively work  in your interest as they will actively change the requirements for promotion and/or horizontal movement in the company to prevent people from leaving certain areas such as Support, due to the sheer turn over rate due to their unrealistic goals and expectations.

Little to no training when walking in the door, pray and hope your co-workers care and what you to stick around or you're on your own.

The company claims to have a quality initiative but they just went through a round of layoffs where they laid of a large portion of their QA staff and replaced them with offshore resources.  The layoffs were done with seemingly no thought as to how they would impact project timelines and now we are having to put projects on hold since we don't have enough people to do the work.

It was also announced that there would be no pay increases this year, yet senior leadership will still be getting their bonuses.

management (or lack there of) is disconnected and unstable
time is spent on unproductive and non value add activities with the 'intention' that they will provide process improvements but it never happens
there is a great emphasis on company 'culture' but there are too many unprofessional employees and if you're not part of the clique then you will be the scapegoat for all of the errors that occur

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
They micro manage and can’t seem to keep and stream line process. No consistency, no room for growth, they want you to work you to death and not pay you. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Work from home which is the only good part about it.

It is a smaller tech company with a lot of legacy software. The culture reflects this, a lot of people from different companies melding together. There isn’t a typical day, pivoting priorities keeps you on your toes. Management changes frequently so the hardest part of the job is ensuring that you stay on top of goals and expectations. Best part of the job is that it is fully remote and you get unlimited PTO.
