ive had to work 12 hour shifts for weeks
managers are terrible, they just want their bonuses. so if youre sick that counts against you. but if you show up and are still sick. that counts against you. its almost as if they don't want people working there yet they hire? insurance took me 6 months to get. when if should've been 3.
they make you clean fast, so if you clean really good, they get mad "it doesn't have to be spotless" they said. I mean it's food. it has to be spotless.  But no they let the mold colg up,yet they want you to taste the product. i've had to burry my arm in a mold clogged pip many times. to clean the drier they make you get inside of it. it feels like youre a jew in hitler's times. because they drier is an oven really. heats up to 350 degrees almost instantly.i worked breading and they also make you drive a forklift. They also "test" you on driving. I have never drove a forklift until the test. 1 i think its OSHA who does not allow for employees to drive without a permit (they still made me) 2 i got my permit afet working over a month driving forklift. 3 i wasn't supposed to have a permit until i retook the test. yet the dude gave me the permit. which is cool of him but what if i was an unsafe driver? 4  the permit they give you are toddler made. i could've made one better. looks so fake. safety is a joke there  your safer joining a parachuting squad. many times we have to "lock out, tag out" not even my own supervisor does it, they yell at you, treat you like scum. so if you're planning on working there, do it for a little bit. then get out, other wise you'll be another miserable worker there like all the rest. hardest part is not being able to do anything about whats happening. my partner was lazy and would go to the back for hours. since he wasn't around my manager had me do my work and his also. they never got him in trouble. if he didn't work i get yelled at, if i didn't work, i still got yelled at. when the inspections cam, everyone was so nice and kind. they would enforce the safety and clean the outsides of the machines. but the insides were moldy. i would never work there for my own benifits again.

I worked in Maintenance. I have never worked for a company that did not give credit or praise to their Maintenance Department occasionally. But Maintenance at this company is absolutely left out in the cold always. No matter how well the department did on a plant shutdown situation. And that was very frequent at the Horn Lake plant due to poor management in all departments. In my opinion the leadership at this plant is lacking throughout. In my particular department they relied heavily on the experienced people to make up for the lack of knowledge with other younger mechanics. I have no problem teaching and enjoy passing on knowledge but it was to the point where they were hiring just another warm body to fill positions. The turnover rate was through the roof. I questioned that when I was interviewed for the job. I was told they were changing that culture. I worked there for over a year and it was the same. They filled positions with people that were not qualified. Human Resources should have a revolving door at this plant. The disparity and disgruntled employees is amazing. If you just want a steady paycheck and the chance to make overtime pay then go for it. The overtime was unbelievable! It was due to bad management and supervision in all departments. I look at any job that contributes to any retirement plan they offer, as the more profitable it is, the more its employees benefit. How can you do that when you let employees come and go as they please and work as many hours as they want?

Overall, my experience at Newly Weds Foods was average to above average.  After the training process, things quickly became routine and wasn't offered very much in the form of additional training in preperation for future potential advancement, even when inquiring about such opportunities.  Management was average, for the most part, available when basic needs were required, such as a request for time off or answers to questions pertaining to any given scenario.  At the time, I mostly worked in a quality control/assurance lab, occasionally walking through the manufacturing area to make sure all safety and employee work standards are met, so, in one word, the workplace culture could be best described as focused and quiet.  Due to being a "Floater" at the time, my scheduled hours bounced between three different shifts (morning, afternoon, and late night), so, the most difficult part of the job for me was the constant changes in my day to day scheduling.  The most enjoyable part, in this case was the consistency, since my work responsibilities never really changed, actual work details became quite simple.

What is the best part of working at the company?

The shift was the only thing I was good about that job. Other than that everything was out of order product was all over the place nothing put an order. All the product was put in the back of the line instead of in front of the line it would take longer to find product, then to put it away. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?

everything was out of order product was put in different areas instead of the right area where I needed to be all the product was in the back is better than new in the back in the old to the front. It would take longer to fill out an order because he had to pull everything out from the back
Of its location and then you would have to put the new product in place and put the old product front and moving double triple pallets lined up one on top of the other 12 rows, it would take over a half an hour to 40 minutes to fill out the order in which a truck driver was waiting for his load to be completed


What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
I was the only female forklift driver on second shift. I felt isolated.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
typical day at the company wise not what I expected at all the professionalism definitely was not there

What is the best part of working at the company?
The only good thing about the company is they do provide pretty good health insurance.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
. The downside is it’s a terrible,  nasty, and  unethical place to work. Managers and supervisors will degrade you no matter how hard you work. I’ve seen managers lay hands on people and hr cover it up. Managers will have you put product from the floor back on the conveyor. I have videos of it. It’s nasty the vats and machines are ewww. From the ovens and proofers with no climate control your can never retain enough water. You get a 10 minute break and the clock may not be close at all to your break room because you have to punch in and out for it. I could keep going.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Very disrespectful and hr will cover the company at all cost.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
The oven and proofers make it unbearably hot with no climate control. You can’t retain enough water

If you don’t mind being spoken to like a child or you are a white person this job should be ok for you. Do not believe half of what they tell you in the interview. You do not have a flexible work schedule. Management likes to see people in the office working. There is no work from home AT ALL for any reason out side of medical which has to be approved. Walking into the office and getting settled is considered late if you are not working at exactly 8am. If you are a few minutes late it’s going to be a problem. Do not think that working a few minutes later after your end time will compensate because it will not. 

1. Purchasing of tools, parts and supplies for Maintenance, Packaging, Engineering, Sanitation, Safety and Production.
2. Many hands with the same coordination makes the work load easier.
3. Management always there to listen with an Open door policy approach.
4. The culture is respect and family oriented.
5. Getting up at 4 am.
6. my most enjoyable is the team work, the culture and the mutual respect. 

It was a very good place to work the manage team was always helpful. I started out as a mechanic in the ABC department ,this is where we bake loaf bread and ground it into crumbs that went on chicken for different companies. I had started back to school in January of 2009 to get my Industrial Electronic degree they worked with me with my schooling so I could finish in December 2010.  I was made supervisor in October of 2009 on 2nd shift and went to first in 2011. I had to learn that making decision on what took priory over everything else was tough. I got to deal with a lot of contractors that where brought in to the plant to do improvements and up grads to the machinery.

Well, I had a great experience working with Newly Wed. I worked in four departments battle plan shipping Macon in breading, and I was a material handler. Don’t get me wrong. It was a great experience. The pay was great. The only thing was working 12 hours seven days a week even on my days off. It was on a Sunday. I still had to come in and fill in even when I was scheduled to go be off, I still came out at 12 I work second shift too to two in the morning sometimes three getting off on a Saturday I was supposed to be off Sunday, but had to come in at 10 that night and get off at four in the morning and be right back from 10 in the morning to 10 at night 

What is the best part of working at the company?
It's has gotten worse under new management. No retirement benefits but more rules and cameras everywhere. But a perfect job for felony looking for a great start. This job is not for college degree people unless for upper management.

Rules and cameras but no 401 or pension.

Warehouse is not climate control which causes the floors to get very slippery for forklifts.

Frustrated and confused due to inexperience management team.and turn over rate
