What is the best part of working at the company?
The best part of working for them was the residence and some of my co-workers. I did have coworkers that were devious and not as a seemed and they you know are the ones that are the reason why I do not work there anymore so overall I believe this is the a great place to work and that anyone who wants to apply there should because the people there wonderful they're very welcoming very warming and the rest is like I said the residents are amazing they will love you and the families will love you as long as they are treated you know humanely. So, apply and see what happens they're always hiring especially CNAs. What is your problem what is your problem

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The most stressful part about the job is there was too much chitter chatter between staff One would talk about together so much gossip just you know things that shouldn't be brought into a workplace for brought into the workplace People's personal lives and that should have stayed outside of the company you know s*** should have stayed out of the company not had been brought in and I feel that they always brought in you know personal business that shouldn't have been brought in. That is all I'm going to say on that matter

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The work environment was very laid back, it was calm most of the time very fast paced you had to be able to keep up with you know changing people feeding people, and trying to make sure you know all the needs were met on a daily basis especially you know if family were involved you know that made things even more stressful however the families were always wonderful to us. They would tell us that they don't know what they would do without us they would tell us you know we were doing wonderful job, I had several several wonderful families that I miss terribly that I worked for there and it bring Sears to my eyes thinking of them and missing them because they were like family to me.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Oh a typical day at Nexon was there busy We you know never had a moment where we weren't busy doing something We were either you know changing people giving showers feeding, dressing, activities, you name it we was doing it It was a wonderful experience

my opinion on my typical days work is very stressful for the reason being we are short staffed at this time. Its hard to pass medications and help the CNA's when they need help, though I do. its hard to get some CNA's to do their work and I constantly have to stay on them in order for my job to be complete and make sure the every resident is well taken care of. I have learned that if you want something done then you have to do it yourself to make sure that it does get done. you can rely on very few people. the management is okay. this in my opinion could be better along with communication. the work culture is a good place to work, depending on who is working. when you have a CNA that does not want to work and me as the nurse have to say something to the CNA they tend to get upset, but that's just my job. they tend to have attitudes towards the nurse and therefore causes tension between that nurse and the CNA. the hardest part about my job is trying to make sure the needs are meet for every resident, especially when we are short staffed. the resident to staff member ratio is high and when they have 12-13 residents apiece it is hard to make sure that each and every resident is tended to in a timely manor.  I do help my aides with anything and everything that I can, but I cant do their job and mine to and its often hard to do this at times. the most enjoyable part of my job is seeing my residents smile when we are talking and having a great time. I know a lot of residents don't have family or they aren't able to come everyday, I love knowing that they love me a part of their family and feel comfortable enough with me to talk about certain things. I love walking into work after I have been off and they are all awaiting me and telling me how much they have missed me and glad that I am back. i enjoy watching the residents sing and enjoy the activities they partake in. i enjoy working with the elderly it has always been a passion of mine and for my particular residents they make me feel appreciated for all the work i have done for that day. like any other job that you would have it has its good days and bad, but it is a very REWARDING job knowing that you did any and everything in your power to take care of each and every resident and to see the smile on their faces makes it even more satisfying. i can say that i do indeed love my job.

I've worked for Nexion for about 6 months now, and so far it's been a very good experience.  The folks at Corporate understand the difficulties that can arise on the front lines, and are fully willing to provide resources and advice to support that effort.  They ask for understanding and grace that everything will not always go perfectly on their end, and likewise extend that same consideration to those doing the work for the residents.  That said, they do an excellent job on the corporate level so extending that understanding is almost never required.

They give us the supplies we need to get the job done right, as well.  They strike a reasonable balance between cost saving and quality, with a definite lean towards quality.  Understand when I say this that I don't mean they cut quality, but seek only that we be fiscally responsible.  If a job can be done well for a certain price, done well for a higher price or done, but poorly, for a cheap price, they will almost always take the first route and spend whatever is necessary to do the job well, but not get ritzy unnecessarily.  

As far as meetings, this is certainly an abnormal time in the healthcare industry, but we haven't been overwhelmed with online meetings like I have at other companies.  A weekly check-in and then two weekly trainings, with a few very short meetings scattered here and there for other services.  

The CEO and COO both seem to have the right focus, as well, which is the quality of care we provide, above all other concerns.  

Honestly, it's been great, so far.  Hopefully I will be even better outside of pandemic times, but I have not yet had the pleasure with Nexion in that circumstance, yet.  I'd worked for some employers that would come in strong at the start with trying to put on a good show, but the façade drops rather quickly in my experience once the honeymoon period is over.  With Nexion, I've been constantly braced for that other shoe to drop, but it's never actually happened, and I've been told by veterans with the company that what I see is what I get as far as that goes.  Apparently, this is just how they operate, and I'm quite satisfied with that!

To work in this company means you have run out of options, this is because the management is always bias in their job performance. However there are too many favoritism that exist in this company particularly the one in Pleasant valley Garland TX and when you try to talk they will be looking for a way to fire you. Recently, a lady from the corporate office came and distributed a form asking everyone to fill out paperwork to nominate a particular restorative aide employee to be the CNA of the year when they knew clearly  that the person doesn't do much of CNA job, leaving those who do the real work on the fence. Too many lobbing in this branch. Instead of the management to focus on raising the hourly pay of their CNA's  which is the core reason why people come and go which makes the facility to always be understaffed the keep doing things that are not necessary. You can imagine where they pay every CNA $11 whether you have 10 to 30 yrs experience they don't want to give a competitive pay salary or shift differential.  Nevertheless, the Management is so tricky that whenever there is any Administrative position opening they will first hand pick the individual they want to be there before advertising the position. So even if you have the whole experience in this world they will never consider you. The over all point I want to make here is that this facility  should have a change in their attitude towards employees as well as  give people a raise otherwise they'll continue to be understaffed each time.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Claiborne Healthcare has an amazing team of caregivers led by a top notch Administrator. It is a family atmosphere where the residents needs always come first. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
All stress isn't bad stress. In an environment where clinical excellence and customer service are always priority stress is a .motivator to execute your best. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Work environment may seem like a controlled chaos but is like a  sophisticated dance where each department plays it's part while coordinating where they overlap. The culture is what you make if it. It's not for everyone. You should love others and see the blessing it is to serve those in need knowing that is the true reward. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
I look forward to each day. It is challenging at times but that motivates a person like myself to learn and grow. There is meetings each day with department heads to coordinate the work flow of residents needs and facility repairs. Prioritize the task and execute using training and tools provided either from previous experience, onsite learning, and company directives. Keep records of all necessary information and communicate any changes as needed.

I have worked as a Nurse at Whispering Springs for over ten years, and my experience has been both meaningful and rewarding. This facility has provided me with the opportunity to grow professionally while making a real difference in the lives of our residents.

The teamwork among the staff is one of the biggest strengths here. Over the years, I’ve had the pleasure of working alongside dedicated CNAs, LVNs, RNs, and administrative staff who truly care about patient-centered care. The collaborative environment makes it easier to handle the many challenges that come with long-term care nursing.

The residents and their families are at the heart of everything we do. Building long-term relationships with them has been one of the most fulfilling parts of my job. Being able to advocate for them and ensure their dignity and comfort has made my career here truly worthwhile.

Overall, Whispering Springs has been a stable, supportive place to work. I’ve gained invaluable experience, developed lasting relationships, and have felt proud of the work I do every day. If you’re a nurse who is passionate about elder care and looking for a place where your work matters, this is a place worth considering.

This NH is constantly understaffed, especially on CNAs. On a typical day my singular CNA would have upwards of 40 residents to take care of, thus putting more work on the nurse, who would have to pitch in and help. Often out of supplies for nurses and CNAs. 6-2, 2-10 and 10-6 all blame one another for things not getting done. Very little team work most of the time. 2-10 gets almost all admissions and multiple at one time is very common. Admits take a very long time to complete and takes away from the nurse's already jammed pack to-do list for the day. They will do anything to save a dollar, including taking away 2-10 med aides making nurses pass their own meds on top of doing their nurse duties and helping with CNA duties. I believe they have returned the med aides at this time but the behavior of corporate and management is completely unpredictable and unhinged. Add in all the contradictory policies and a total lack of disciplinary action and you have a recipe for a completely toxic work environment.

The residents and most coworkers become like family.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Extremely low staffing levels on every shift, every day, with zero help or sympathy from management. There is no accountability for the ones that are late every day or for those that call in frequently. There are multiple family members given jobs in offices and friends of the DON do what they please. It is an extremely toxic environment.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Management DOES NOT practice what they preach. Staff members that complain to corporate are targeted and the “zero bullying tolerance is a joke. Extremely toxic. RUN!

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
The nurse/patient ratio is about 30:1 for LPNS on medcarts and usually 15-25: for CNAs. The average censusi s around 80 residents with a goal of 90-93. RNs and some LPNs  have to take call and that is about 6 people, so you are on-call frequently. Call means any open shift or position. Also, you don’t have time to take a break or eat, but if you don’t clock out for lunch you get called to the office. Completely unrealistic expectations. RUN!

I worked for one of Nexion's Nursing facilities. Administrators changed at least every 6 months. Each Administrator wanted things done differently. There was no guidelines as to how to do your job and be effective. "Corporate" showed favoritism. They were of no support.The company basically promotes "friends". They come into the facilities and tell you exactly what you do wrong and leave not giving you better measures to do your job more effective. Will hire anyone who can obtain an Administrator license and they do not care how the Administrator treats the "line staff". Promotions from with in hardly ever happens. Work load is extremely heavy no matter what position you hold. Had to work off the clock almost everyday. Then would be told not to do it with no assistance with work flow. Company is strict on over time but the work load is horribly. If work is not done you will be disciplined. Co workers have learned how to work the "system" and their constant competition  to be on the good side of the Administrator or corporate. Very destructive atmosphere.  Honestly, this was the worst job I have ever had. I rather be unemployed than ever work for this company again. 

Our facility was bought out by Nexion. So far I will say they seem to be very focused on employee appreciation, they have decently affordable insurance coverage for myself as a married woman, with no kids to insure, and their number one concern is the well-being of the residents here. However, since they took over my work load has increased a good bit, as I hear many departments have experienced the same thing. This is probably just the new company working out some kinks and getting us adjusted to their system. This happens with most buy outs so it is no big deal to me. I am eager for the opportunity to learn more as my job duties have increased, because this is my field of choice and I am working toward building a career in this field. Ultimately I will say I am very happy with new management.
