Nextaff

When I worked for Nextaff I was working at KCBPU (utility company).  My typical day started at 7:30 a.m. and ended at 4:00 p.m. Mornings consisted of returning calls from the previous day, printing billing letters, reconciling funds and processing work orders. The afternoons were mostly assisting the supervisors and T & D Designers with whatever they needed help with (returning calls, scanning documents that were needed immediately, keeping their contacts updated, etc).  All the while answering the phones helping customers and assisting other departments.  While at BPU I learned about starting up utilities for not only residential but for contractors as well.  I can honestly say I learned something everyday.  The hardest part of my job was dealing with upset customers but I also liked helping them solve whatever issues they were having because most of the time they felt like no one was one their side and I would do whatever I had to to get their issues resolved.  9 out of 10 times they were satisfied. I enjoyed every bit of my job from the customer service to the clerical support.  BPU's management was very easy to work with if I ever needed assistance or made inquiries they were all cooperative. My co-workers were a diverse group. Informative, communicated well ( I was usually given little direction but could figure out what they needed), and supportive.

As a college student it is awesome to be able to pick my own hours that I want/can work. Even though, I live in a small rural town about an hour from Des Moines, there are still plenty of hours for me to work 40 hrs or more per week. I usually find plenty of shifts within an hour from home but sometimes it can be nerve racking when I don't have future shifts picked up. However, since I've worked here I have always ended up with enough hours even if I had to stress a little. Being payed every week is awesome and getting $18 an hour is one of highest wages for a CNA you are going to find in Iowa. One thing that may be overwhelming for some is that when you go to some of these facilities they may be very unorganized and understaffed and if it is your first time there it can be hard. However, if you are a strong CNA and have experience, this job is for you. In conclusion, working with Nextaff has been a great experience and perfect for someone who is in school like me. Just remember, it is up to you to keep your eyes open for posted shifts or you may miss out. They do often have last minute shifts open up as facilities have staff call in and if you pick those up you get STAT pay which is awesome! I don't really have any major cons thus far after 2 years of working with this company.

Working with Nextaff has been incredibly easy.  Due to Covid-19, I found myself as one of the many Americans laid off and without work.  After over 6 months of actively seeking employment I applied for a Nextaff position in desperation.
In 2018 I reached out to a staffing agency looking for post-graduate administrative roles.  After over a year of back and forth with the agency and no secured role I decided to put off administrative work and continue to work in restaurants.  With Covid-19 closures, I could no longer maintain my previous position and feared pay instability due to the current state of the economy.  I decided to retry my luck in administrative roles outside the restaurant business.
Abby, who helped me, was able to place me in a role within 2 weeks!  I was both surprised and grateful to have found work so fast especially in the middle of a pandemic.  The company Abby and her team matched me with is very kind, invested in their employees and also happens to be an essential business.  This means if we have to deal with more closures in the future, I get to maintain my job stability.  Thanks Abby and Nextaff!

When I started this process I was over-worked in a dead end job with no clear way out. Nextaff was the answer to my prayers! Everyone is incredibly helpful and kind. They really listened to what mattered to me and put me in touch with an awesome locally owned business with an open position. I felt very confident and prepared for my interview and am very satisfied with my current position. 
My commute is now 10/15 minutes and I get to work with a great group of people. On a typical day, I go into work, check in with the lead in my department, and work on my assignments. The best part of my current job is the individual attention and training I received because I now feel really confident when I am given a new assignment. I would say the hardest part is being patient with myself! Everyone in my office is so good at what they do - I just have to give myself time to get on their level! The management team and structure are great. They really care about doing right by everyone and strike the perfect balance of being hands-on but not overly involved. 

My time with Nextaff  has been an educational yet enlightening experience, so far! I've never been employed by a staffing agency, and I'm so happy this was my first assignment with the company. My first week in training has been somewhat overwhelming, as with the first week at any new job- but by the end of the week I'd become comfortable and familiar with procedure and protocol and am beginning to settle into an efficient and effective routine. I work with professionals and my supervisors treat me with respect and compassion. I believe this position was a terrific fit for me and I'll only continue to grow and improve in the coming weeks. My goal is to be hired on as a permanent employee for the company, and I eventually hope to be able to navigate its exciting potential for upward mobility and growth. Thank you, Nextaff!

I enjoyed working at Nextaff in the beginning, but within the last year or so it has gone downhill. Management says one thing, then does another. They promise bonuses, then take them away. Management allows other facilities employees to treat agency staff horribly. There are fewer and fewer shifts available every month. The schedulers do not get back to you in a reasonable amount of time when attempting to pick up shifts. And, when they do get back to you they are rude. It would be nice if they realized that we are the ones bringing money to the company by working at these facilities. It would be nice to be treated with RESPECT.

Excellent training and recertification programs, with a team oriented culture.  Pay differential for early morning and then again reporting mid afternoon.  Company provides excellent equipment and regularly offers constructive performance feedback.  Parents, students, teachers, law enforcement and the neighborhood and community in general often express appreciation for crossing guards ensuring the safety of the students.  Recognition is given for attendance, appearance and professionalism while executing proper crossing procedures.

While I enjoyed the work itself, I found the work environment to be challenging. The pre-existing social bond between my manager and some of my colleagues made it difficult for me to build professional relationships and gain the support I needed to be successful in my role. Additionally, I found that the after-work social activities were not inclusive of all team members, which created a sense of exclusion and division. Overall, I believe that the work environment would benefit from more inclusivity and support for all team members.

Great pay and bonus. friendly. Looks like 9 places to go to in driving distances. very helpful giving me what to expect at each place - other agency offices don't do this. I even got scheduled at a facility that my other agency couldn't. Yesterday I could hear one ofthem scheduling. They seem friendly with the facilities thy were talking to. That is a good. Seems very organized. They did make me have all paperwork, kinda a pain since my other place let me tell them the stuff. Everything else was great.- a lotmore places to go if I want to drive more then half an hour but enough in Harrisburg. Thanks for meeting to finish everything on a saturday.
