When I first received the offer for this job I was elated to flex my skills in a new environment. My colleagues were super friendly and helpful. It really felt like a mini work family! I noticed the company went on a crazy hiring spree without carefully evaluating their business model. Either way, I still had a job. Some flaws I recognized were the training processes (this was gradually enhanced with time) and redundant work flows which limited productivity. Making continuous outreaches to nurses on a weekly basis to receive little to no responses should have been a major flag to management to revise the workflow. I do appreciate the team's efforts to pinpoint and improve nuances.

In my option, the Operations team really had a sense of culture and holds great value to this company. Despite not being recognized by leadership during company wide meetings, this team always over performed. It's a shame the CEO and upper management failed to nurture the talented staff members. Instead the layoffs began and kept happening. Rather than focusing on how to restructure the business model, they continue to ignore the very careless spends that inhibit the growth of the company.

2024, and this small company has endured its third layoff in a year. It's quite frightening to receive a random calendar invite and hear they have to let people go yet again. I understand, there's no loyalty and it's simply about the bottom line. It's unfortunate for those who have families to provide for, medical expenses or simply want to live a better life. What started out as a wonderful place to work turned into a complete nightmare. 

My advice, take a closer look and re-evaluate upper management. There are a number of leaders who appear to not understand the scope of the company's mission and day to day operations. Let's keep it real, many of them DO NOT even have a background in healthcare. "Drinking the Kool-aid" is unacceptable and tone deaf to even mention during a meeting to professionals who go above and beyond each day for the company and the clinicians being served. You are playing with the livelihoods of not only the workers but also the clinicians. Do better, be better! 

Just an AWFULLY managed company. I have been through several rounds of layoffs and restructures and it is truly chaos each time. The layoffs are also handled very callously in my opinion - a random 15 minute meeting and then a computer is deactivated. It's dehumanizing. 

Although you feel lucky if you're not one of the ones cut, the management keeps their favorite people and lets go of talented folks. There have also been thinly veiled threats from upper management (i.e., "If you don't like the changes, you can leave" - that was actually said in a meeting recently). 

What's even more surprising is that we often get activities in the mail that we do in meetings together (like blanket knitting and succulent planting) and we get merch from the company. Have I gotten a raise in my 3 plus years? No. But have I gotten paid for activities in the midst of mass layoffs several times? For some reason, yes. The optics of that just...aren't great.

You don't feel cared about here. Many of my colleagues were put on Performance Improvement Plans for struggling with unrealistic metrics and some even had a diagnosis of ADD and while waiting for medication, they were put on a plan. The management is callous and uncaring. It's all about numbers here.

The culture is horrible. Employees are afraid day in and day out for their jobs and honestly, they should be. RUN FAR AWAY!!!

The job as a whole as a Credentialing Specialist is fulfilling, because you're helping people gain employment.
Initially, the company seemed promising. However, after some time, the true colors began to show .
Upper Management seemed to be clueless when it came to managing finances. They constantly had to lay people off even when they asserted that business was going well.
Because the market slowed for travel nurses, they began implementing metrics that were not only impossible to meet, but were complete asinine and didn't help in meeting goals. It seemed as if the goal was to find reasons to let go of people instead of laying them off. 
I became fully aware that management didn't care at all about me. They would do anything to save their own jobs even if it meant throwing employees, hard working employees under the bus.
There was ZERO sense of job security.  They put me on a performance improvement plan which I quickly began to see was a performance perfection plan. There was no way I'd meet the goals even though my numbers were very high. I was very successful. However, if I didn't leave a note daily. If it was every other day even if there was nothing to report, that was an issue. It just became so, so toxic. Even though I couldn't see it at the time, it was a blessing to be let go.
They pay well. They talk a good game, but I wouldn't recommend it. 

If you come in at the bottom rungs of the ladder (at an associate or analyst level), you will not rise up the food chain, no matter what this company promises. In operations, 99% of the work is mind-numbing stuff that anyone with a high school diploma and a lot of motivation can do. The biggest challenges of the job are purely due to the growing pains of a startup - bad technological infrastructure, unclear job descriptions, constant workflow changes. I can't imagine anyone would be challenged intellectually by a role in operations - just frustrated. Work-life balance can be problematic depending on surges in the market, and it's difficult to increase staff during busy times since training is so convoluted.

However, the people working at Nomad are uniformly kind, supportive, and friendly. It's a casual environment with unlimited PTO that everyone really does end up using to full advantage. The culture is good and the pay is good for how little skill you need to do most of the jobs at the company, but it sometimes comes at the price of your mental health when frustrations build up around inefficiencies in this growing company.

no problems.  I suppose the company expanded with unfavorable consequences.  Being bigger isn’t necessarily better.   Their credentialing staff now has absolutely no clue what they are doing.  Website will invite you to apply for jobs telling you your qualifications are completed.  Then a week later after applying you get a notice that you are not qualified, changing the requirements as they please.  They also will send you to a job site and at the last minute tell you your credentials aren’t complete though previously telling you they were.  Total waste of your time uploading all your information. I don’t believe the administrative staff have any understanding of nursing or requirements in the medical field.  They also have no loyalty to their nurses.  If you get canceled (because the hospital really doesn’t want to continue to pay crisis rates once their needs have changed), they will not
support you in any way.  They treat you like it’s your fault even when they know it isn’t.  Pay is
decent, but it’s just not worth it!  Find a different company - there’s plenty of them!

The culture was amazing. I love the diversity and inclusion. The pay was amazing. Even with loving all of that, during the first layoffs, they got rid of some amazing people. They let go of managers that were the best and kept the ones that were not. There was a lack of training, especially after the layoffs for the remaining people to learn their new systems. Everyone was told that they cut deep so they wouldn’t have to do another layoff and was good until the summer of 2024. Well then comes October and they brought all of us in to watch a pre-recorded screen to let us know that whoever receives an email to their personal email, they were let go immediately. No time to process, not allowed to work the next two weeks to prepare, nothing, just your computers were shutdown and reset. It was a horrible experience. They laid off, yet again, great employees, but kept the ones they liked the most. They kept the people who engaged more or were brown nosers, not the ones who performed and put nurses to the bedside on time. 

Between the layoffs and them constantly looking for ways to get rid of people! This is the most toxic work environment I have ever encountered in my life. They care nothing about the staff. They will fire you in a heartbeat. They make up the rules as they go. No structure or standard. They literally give you no tools to succeed, set you up to fail and take pleasure in managing you right out of the door. Blood thirsty, Money hungry, Greedy management uses staff to test product features, then gets rid of you to pad their pockets and increase their salary. Benefits promised during interviews are reneged upon once hired. Extremely toxic work environment. They literally make up rules as they go to weaponize against anyone not in the inner circle of favoritism. The managers are deplorable dictators with no sense or fairness or mercy. A nightmare place to work. You go to bed every night unsure of whether or not you will wake up with a job. They are literally constantly looking for creative ways to get rid of people. The work life balance there is also nonexistent if you are not working in a management role.

When I worked here I worked with some fine people and the company seemed well run and well structured.  However they shocked many of their employees in early '23 with a round of layoffs.

The higher-ups at this company are seemingly nice but also shifty and duplicitous.  The whole operation seems like a hustle where they got their profits right away and then cut about 17% of staff, using the excuse of "post-pandemic-related issues." This may be so but then that means they did not plan properly as they obviously should have.

Overall a disappointing company that ultimately uses some of its most talented employees and then drops them like a hot potato. There were some very dedicated people here who unfairly got axed and are now unemployed. Nomad is also not providing much assistance job-seeking assistance to them. Bottom line is there were poor decisions made in this company from people did not plan right for the future.

It is a great opportunity for someone looking to gain meaningful experience in social services and healthcare support. It offers hands-on involvement with client intake, service planning, and advocacy—skills that are valuable across many human service and public health careers. Working with individuals living with HIV and navigating community-based services will also strengthen your communication, case management, and documentation abilities. The role’s focus on fieldwork and meeting clients where they are builds real-world experience that can’t be taught in a classroom. In addition, you’ll gain insight into health disparities, resource coordination, and service gaps that impact underserved populations. This job is ideal for someone early in their career or transitioning into human services who wants to build a strong foundation, work as part of a supportive team, and grow professionally while making a real difference in the community.

Nurses are problem solvers. There’s a problem or issue you fix it and quickly. Nomad’s position: canned response with concerns. 
1. Notified them I didn’t get holiday pay. “We don’t give holiday pay”. The facility pays all their employees Easter holiday pay…Nomad did not pay me. 
2. I did not get paid for a week of work. “Thanks for letting us know the problem. We’ll look in to it and get back to you”. 
As a travel nurse I don’t expect a ton from the recruitment company I work for. We are both here to conduct business. The only thing I will take personally is my money. 
The nonchalant attitude of responding to staff in a laissez faire manner is a lesson learned. 
The good news…you are one of many. 
As a travel nurse I will advise others to avoid interaction with this company.
