I worked for this company a few times. I did not stay at this employer because I did not feel like it was a healthy workplace. I had zero help when I was working the floor- I worked post surg/cardiac- and I was assigned upwards of 14 patients a day to manage all of their daily needs with the exception of the medication and tasks out of my scope of practice that the nurse provided. The nurses did not help with the needs- they would call for the tech to do it all. I was called to get a cup of ice by a nurse who was leaving the patient's room that would walk right past the nourishment room. The management has shifted from a well liked manager on the floor that I worked to one who does not care about her employees or how to retain them. The administration for the entire hospital does not care about the environment that they contribute to by not implementing mass changes- ie mass firing and rehiring along with retraining those who were allowed to stay. The whole hospital is grouped up into little groups like in high school and it was so toxic. They gossiped about everything, but the gossiping about the patients was what did it for me. The hardest part of the job was clocking in every day knowing that I would be severely overwhelmed with the work I would be assigned with no help at all. The best part of working here would have to be the patients that I cared for. 10/10 would not recommend working here- especially if you are in school to be a nurse because you will become jaded, burnt out, and question why you decided to join this profession at all. Should you decide to venture down this path, I wish you the best and may the odds be in your favor because you will need all of the luck, thoughts, vibes, prayers, etc that you can receive because you will need them.

A lot of the staff are great and some of them are very professional. Like many places this job can be what you make of it. That attitude can get you through the rough days but your pay check will all ways be depressing to look at compared to the work you put in to it. I love the people I work with and some of the patience I get to interact with are great. The pay grade is below substandard though. If you are needing a job that pays enough money to support a household you will get more in just about any other direction. Fast food, lowes,target,Walmart,Home depot , you will be looking at making four to six dollars more an hour.

The  atmosphere the upper management want to present is energetic,uplifting and optimistic. They work very hard at this presentation. At the end of the day smiles and kind words are just that, words that produce no action or change to the employees. With any job your work is valued by how much the company values it ; hints your pay rate. which is a few cents above minimum wage  or up to 40% less of the national average in the medical field.

For a while I loved my job. Then working 5-6 12 hour shifts a day, evening, and night (yes, all shifts in one week!) became very tiresome. At some points we only had 4-5 scribes working. They needed coverage from 6-6, 12-12, and 6-6. We were worked and worked with a constant promise of “it’ll get better soon”. I felt like someone was breathing down my neck , I was always sick, I fell asleep driving on more than one occasion. The CEO and CFO of the hospital frequently walk through the ER to check up on patient numbers, and if they’re low, come back with some chart in an email about how it is mid level providers faults.  I hated going to work. I called in for a miscarriage which required a D&C and was reprimanded, even though the surgery took place at ECM!

Taking care of the patients schedule was easily adjustable for the most part

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Lack of support, staff sleeping while on duty, accommodations given to people who didn’t have need making others miss time with family, Leaking information from Human Resources to other staff, no raise in pay after training as specified, no support when wanting to transfer department.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Depending on what supervisor the environment was enjoyable easy going

A typical day was to go in do your job

This has to be the biggest nightmare of my life working for this hospital. They take advantage of the new nurses and the older nurses are so burnt out they keep to themselves and help nobody. You can’t trust anyone, ever. The management is always trying to trap you in some sort of “sign on bonus” or “overtime contract.” You are overworked and underpaid and it is stressful and dangerous work environments. I was 9 months pregnant and did not get a lunch break staying for 12-14 hour shifts. They try and call you in on your off day every chance they get. They try to thrive on working with the least amount of staff possible. Any new nurses will get the worst assessments and will be on their own. 

No one would train me for my position. Had to learn things on my own. Other employees were bitter because they did not hire within, and hired me. Had I known, I would not have accepted the position. I soon found out my job was formerly 4 positions. I worked around the clock, whether at home or at work. Controlled by a corporate facility far away who made changes so frequently it made you wonder if they were competent. The pay is super low (not just low). They say the pay scale is compared to similar positions in surrounding areas. Most people use it as a stepping stone to get experience and then leave to make more money somewhere else. I had to resign due to exhaustion. 

We worked on a daily bases without supplies we needed to complete tasks. Pt ratio on med/surg was minimum 6 and even sometimes 7.  Floor could be well staffed, but then nurses, care partners are pulled to staff another floor.  Pace very fast with beds being assigned with new patient before room even cleaned. Daily close monitoring of orders to protect patients from errors from residents. Little to no communication between different disciplines. Unbelievable amount of clicks and favoritism. 

I enjoyed working with the company for many years. My only con is that you don’t have any room to grow in the company even if you go to school for years and years to try to stay with the company. I see this hospital as a starting point but for many not where you will stay especially if you can not climb the ladder to a better paying position.

What is the best part of working at the company?
No comment. There’s nothing positive I can say about this organization whatsoever.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Zero communication amongst upper management and those in supervisory roles.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Very stressful on any given day with little to no support from managers.

A typical day is very stressful trying to juggle multiple positions along with doing the job I was hired for.

I worked in housekeeping and the job itself wasn't horrible nor the people I worked with. It's just very unorganized and that made the job hard. It was expected of you to do  the jobs of two people instead of just hiring more. You would think that with it being a hospital they would want the best of care and housekeeping is a big part of that. The lack of proper management was a reflection on you because it made it seem as if you didn't know your job when in reality you are doing the best you can with what you were given.
