Worked hours and hours.  Promised advancement, promised pay raises, promised change (in the form of more resources).  Essentially, all you get is lied to.  There's a reason that some of the top leaders in the home office of San Diego left over the past few years.  The new leadership just wants numbers.  As an employee, you're also thought of as a number...they preach about culture...the last time that was good was in 2015ish.  Now, the only culture is to try not to upset the head of ops, hr, and a few cronies so you don't get the axe.  
Oh, you think you deserve a raise?  Nah, they'd rather just upgrade their buildings...in San Diego.  The only other way to get one is to be there long enough and then threaten to quit.  You may get a raise, but you won't advance.  Also, don't dare ask any questions about decisions being made.  Oh, they'll tell you to...they'll tell you they use the questions to try to improve or clarify the decisions...but that just puts you on a "list."
If you interview here, ask why all their good longtime employees keep leaving.  They're bleeding talent left and right because they would rather underpay and hope you don't realize the grass really is greener in other places.  Ask why they continue to neglect providing resources...It doesn't make sense to work people to death when a few hires would solve the problem.  Ask why the pay is below the industry median.  That's starting, mid-level, and experienced pay...all levels.   Ask why the managers aren't experienced in the departments they run.  If I work in a quality environment, shouldn't that be led by a supervisor with quality experience....even just a little? Then, decide if you can put up with that type of leadership....because it's all through this company.

As a temporary employee, I grew close to all workers and other temps. Of course, I was looking forward to being hired on. Whenever my supervisor was out (from days to weeks) I would take the role of completing her tasks. Made sure to do overtime to show my dedication. Did my best to keep the flow going in the workplace. I was let go due to “not fitting in with the team and being unenthusiastic” which is far from it! 

Management was questionable, if the director of operations was mad and the operations supervisor was not present, I was in the flames of any missing reports of progress (which made me feel I was working a role I shouldn’t have been). Both supervisors were close friends which meant if one was out, the other would be too. Which in no way is bad, just stressful when the director of operations would not oversee the operations department when they were out. Also, many different departments would gossip FREQUENTLY about certain people, especially about people in supervisor roles. It was very uncomfortable to hear smack about my own supervisor or fellow coworkers. Because a temporary employee has no power to change those ideals that many of their employees have.

Besides that, everything was great. Great people, lots of work to do, and great compensation. It was also a great work/life balance as my supervisor was very understanding. They provided daily and monthly meeting to input progress, details of operations, and requested any suggestions from workers. 

Management could use some polishing and work on their communication skills; too much miscommunications and getting mad at each other.

Used to be a great place with great people, all over the company. I believed in the message that my department was putting out and I worked hard for my team and my management with little to no consideration or support. Team members creating problems where there wasn't any and causing issues in other departments. Management causing scenes at company functions while being intoxicated and being asked to leave. People not showing up for work for days or flat out refusing to do things they are asked and manage to keep their jobs. Managers watching Soccer games at their desks while hard working folks were being neglected and the keeping up appearances at the department social club instead of handling the issues that were plaguing the department. Being blown off twice by my director when you have an issue with a fellow employee who has created a hostile work environment by being a 4 year old and giving you the silent treatment for months. Talking to management about said employee causing issues in other areas and being lied to about any follow up. And the list goes on and on, pure shitshow.

It's a real shame, the CEO and COO are great guys and doing there very best to make Nuvasive a greater spine company than it already is. Shame it has a management team that tramples all over the Values of the company to the detriment of the department. 

I'd work here again, as I loved what I did. But they have to get rid of some the lazy backstabbing riff raff for me to even consider it. Good Luck Nuvasive, you're a great company harboring bad eggs, and good eggs are leaving or being forced out in droves.

The Neurophysiologist position with NuVasive varied greatly depending on which region one worked in. For example some regions were well staffed with balanced schedules, others were severely understaffed. Case variety and load also varied region to region, with some focusing almost entirely on spine, and others had the opportunity to monitor more advanced procedures. There were advanced procedures in my region, however we were so understaffed I seldom got the opportunity to participate in them which was frustrating. Insufficient staffing led to more traveling than was anticipated; sometimes I would monitor at multiple facilities in one day. Due to multiple contracts spread across two states, there were some days when I would have to monitor very long surgeries with no breaks. Then again, that can be the nature of surgery.
On the plus side, I was fortunate to work with a great team, caring managers, and some talented and enjoyable surgeons and OR staff. When looking for jobs I wanted to get some experience in training new NPs, and they allowed me to do so. The education coordinators and materials were excellent, from beginning training to CNIM prep.
Overall a good company to work for, but I recommend getting details on the workload and travel requirements of your desired region before signing on.

This company was much better before. Then the mergers happened and new management ruined everything. We are not hourly employees so they dont care how long we work because they only look at our OR hours and revenue. You can wait at the hospital all day for a 1 hour surgery, they will show no mercy. You will drive for hours to get to the hospitals and wait all day but there is no perdiem or company reimbursed meals unless you are a claimed traveler out of region. Bonuses don't even make up for the overtime pay. Their insufficient bonus strategy saves them a ton of money by not hiring more people so 1 tech ends up doing 2 people's job. Upper management does not monitor Area Managers  work or teams schedule so the managers get all the power to manipulate the team. Some teams and techs will get a full salary for working one day a week while the others will barely see their families all week. There is no system to monitor and balance everyone's schedule so tech's end up quitting. I am so glad I am not with this company anymore. There is no potential for career growth because of internal politics and relationships. Go to a smaller company with a smaller team and a better pay! 

I worked in the distribution center in Memphis. From there, the company ships its products domestically and internationally. The days were usually fast paced and busy. The warehouse is clean, safe, and relatively quiet.

There isn't much to learn, but if you have never had any experience using SAP, working here can be a good starting point.

Departments are normally run by team leads under the supervision of an associate manager.

Co-workers are usually friendly and very open about their feelings about the company. They gripe a bit, but they all agree that there aren't many jobs better out there for them, considering the requirements.

The hardest part about the job depends on the department. Some departments work lots of hours; others may ask for lots of output within a limited amount of time. Also, though it pays more than many warehouse jobs in the area, it still isn't much.

The health benefits seem to be very generous.

As a technician the nature of the job feels rewarding and there is room to learn a lot about Spine and Specialized Orthopedics. Unfortunately the upper Management and Leaders choose favoritism and racial bias to determine who they promote from within. Working hard with integrity is valued less than someone that doesn't do their job but plays friendly with the right upper management members. If you're part of BIPOC be prepared to be severely overlooked for promotions or raises, even if your skills are overqualified.

The lack of accountability and dishonesty is why this company struggles every year with production, employee retaining and bonuses end up being kibbles and bits.

The company would do much better if they cleaned out their upper management. 

Typical day of work consists of me showing up and completing my tasks. Same tasks that I've been doing my since day one. No room for growth in experience. I did not learn much as i do the same tasks everyday and it feels as if I'm in cruise control. Very little does a situation come up that requires me to think which is very life draining. 
There are some good managers but most I would say just preach but don't practice. Same goes for their workplace culture. They preach about it but they don't practice it. Every temporary employee is looking to leave. Most don't say it when it comes to meeting but after talking to most of them that is the case. Nothing enjoyable besides a handful employees are great to work with.

I receive the incoming payments, both patient and insurance that I must post and balance to Accounting. File all secondary claims. Process Credit Card payments including patient payments and Insurance payments. Management is superior and my co-workers all work as a team to resolve each issue as it is presented. The hardest part of my job is securing payments that come without either a breakdown of payment or don't identify the patient or account the payment is to be applied. The most enjoyable part of my job is to resolve in regard to payment in a timely manner and balancing the payments with Accounting.

I worked for this company in the memphis area and i loved the people i worked with. The managers suck though. Long hours and low pay. If you have family at home this is not the job for you. The hours change daily and most time we were on mandatory 10 hour shifts 6 days a week. You work when the managers dont and instead of them helping you work they stand and watch you. 

On the flip side, company has great benefits, great company planned events, healthy eating options, free snacks in vending machine, and great employees that are willing to weather the storm to get the job done. What they do there is life- changing and glad i experienced it.
