I joined Nurse Dash in 2023 after leaving my on staff job. I wanted the flexibility to work when I wanted to. In the beginning there used to be to be so many facilities and shifts to choose from you could find work everyday of the week. Now fast forward to 2025 there’s hardly any facilities now. The same 2 get posted and since there are few facilities a bunch of people are applying to the same to and because people are favorited they get picked automatically.Here and there a different facility may pop up. And then the shifts that do sit on the app for a while are too far out. I wish it could go back to the beginning when you had so many different facilities to choose from. I also feel like since it’s agency the pay could be better. Getting paid $21-$22 doesn’t seem worth it, especially since you could go on staff and make that same pay or even higher.  Maybe they could incorporate contracts for STNA’s to work at facilities for an extended amount of time so you’d have a guaranteed schedule. I feel like the base should be at least $25 especially for the workload that gets thrown on agency.

I have been working in the Talent Acquisition/recruitment field for over 7 years now, working with well-known, global companies and immediately I knew and appreciated that NurseDash was different. Since this is an On Demand Platform for clinicians (cannot stress enough that NurseDash is NOT an Agency,) there is none of that toxic agency culture that is so common amongst that type of employment channel. The people here are wonderful and everyone cares to meet their goals and help others in the process. When it comes to the candidates going through onboarding, our priority is simple - to walk them through every step of the way and know that they have a personal point of reference when they are going through the hiring process and beyond. 

Additionally, I love that communicating to the founders of NurseDash is easy and accessible, vs other companies where you need to put in a request or don't personally know.

Pre-operative preparation: Securing/arranging equipment; create sterile field; open sterile supplies; organizes sterile field; performs necessary counts; sterile skin prep; scrubs/gowns/ gloves
Intra-operative procedures: Draping; passes instruments/supplies; maintains organized Mayo stand/back table; maintains sterility throughout the procedure; properly cares for specimen; performs closing counts; applies sterile dressing
Post-operative procedures: Break down of sterile field; properly disposes of all sharps; prepares instruments for decontamination; disposes of all one-use items; turns over room

I started using this app this week, and although It is not yet Friday (payment is on this day), I’d like to share three things I love about this agency:

1. Onboarding was simple and fast.
2. I feel as bough I’m compensated well although most of the assume that are located far away from my home but I do not mind being paid the same rate as an experienced worker. 
3. There are shifts available every. Single. Day. This is not one of those home care agencies where you wait for weeks or days to be called. Rather, all available dates and facilities are listed. You have the power to pick which one you like. You could make thins into a part time or full time job.

It’s a beneficial to be independent.

The pay is reasonable 

Hit or Miss with facilities 

Don’t have a problem with getting shifts where I am and I like that I can control the shifts I see unlike those apps that only show your region.

What I don’t like is the waiting to get paid or getting a percentage of non taxable income. It’s not that much of a pay out to hold and I don’t like paying a fee to get what I worked for early. Also, I don’t like facilities being able to rate you and it hurts you but when we rate these terrible facilities nothing goes against them. 

The hours are flexible. You can choose whatever facility you are credentialed for as well as the shift.  Only downside is there are not a lot of shifts available for certain specialties such as ICU. However, they are adding more facilities to their roster to choose from I think the demand for nurses will grow overtime as they add more facilities. The staff in staffing department and payroll are quick to respond and handle issues.  They seem to be appreciative of employees.  The app is easy to use and follow. I would have given 5 stars however The pay is not as competitive anymore; pay dropped about $10/hr and continued to drop.

You can work when you want to, flexible schedule and the rates are contract rates without the contract.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
You have to be able to learn different EMR systems and be familiar with different medical dispensary equipment in order to be successful.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
They are helpful and they are do better when you are successful.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
You submit all of information, show proof of training, get orientation done, pick a shift and start working.

Horrible agency to work for. They have low cancellation, but they block u without notice if you call off due to an illness even if you have proof. They say they understand but they dont at all. Last straw was when they didnt pay me for my shifts and tried to act like i was in the wrong. Thats why i always took pictures of my check in and out and kept up with my hours. Be careful if u work here its only ok for temporary work until you find better. Better to work for your city agency vs out of state agency. Trust me.

Where I’ve been going lately is a bit fast pace, everyone is friendly and helpful. They always ask do you need anything or help? But busy is good it makes the day go by faster. The hardest part of the job when we have multiple of discharges and admissions at the Same time. The most enjoyable part of the job when I can put a smile on someone face in spite of the pain they may be in. 

Been here since 2021 and it has gotten worse over the years. I have an excellent rating but I don't see very much variety in places to work. I have developed a good relationship w one hospital and if it wasn't for the management requesting me to work prn via the app I would have no work at all. Pay is deposited via the DAILY PAY app and it is convenient to have your pay available as soon as you work but if not the direct deposit is deposited the following Friday. Otherwise it is an okay per diem place to get assignments.
