I used to work for the company and traveled weekly for job assignments.  Management doesn't communicate effectively with employees when they're in the field or at client sites.  There is a level of camaraderie, but it's very clicky.  If you weren't going to happy hour and drinking all night, You wouldn't always get invited to other events. 

 During a downturn in business, layoffs occured.  While people were losing their livelihood, the director was retiring and drove up to the office in a brand new Porsche as a gift to himself.  The current director is no better.  They consistently preach the team philosophy but only care about their own success and egos.

I did enjoy a lot of my co-workers, but I would not go back to work for this company given their management team.

Day started with either research and paperwork or preparing for your travel plans. Contacting stakesholders, preparing for meetings,
and trying to obtain any additonal info that would come in handy
during the assessments.

Learned how to budget my time wisely as the demands were
sometimes tough. A lot of travel.

Co-workers were great and were able to share experiences with
the newer members.

Hardest part was traveling and then getting set up to perform your assessments. Sometimes access to sites was difficult or communication was not forwarded to filed people at the site.

Most enjoyable part was finishing the last site assessment in a County far from home and knowing that you only had to transfer your filed data into the database.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Positive environment and generous benefits. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Chaotic placement in projects, poor skills evaluation and you worry they don't have enough for you to do. They say are no layoffs but then all of a sudden they laid off 11 people with no notice, and then treated them as if they did something wrong, when in fact is was the managers who failed to generate enough work for everyone.  In that sense all that positivity was fake.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It projects itself as positive, but it's hit or miss

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Finishing work early and then figuring out how to seem busy so you don't get laid off

I don't work here. I was at NYSTEC for a job interview. I was told the work enviornment was very easy going. 

They keep re-posting the same job position again and again. During the interview they talk a lot about the company and projects. They seem least interested in candidate experience and background. 

It seemed to me that they want people to be aware about NYSTEC company and no real job position exists. Be aware before you go and waste your time.

It's an awesome place to work with so many perks and benefits, friendly and skilled staff, and many opportunities to grow and develop your own skills and knowledge. They host events for employees to get to know each other and network, and a lot of ways to recognize the great work that colleagues are doing. There are so many different projects and they want you to be on one that interests you and is the best fit for your experience and goals. 

NYSTEC and its management are very transparent and communicative about pay, benefits, expectations, etc., and the company truly treats its employees like people.  I got along great with everyone that I worked with and a learned a lot about consulting and project management. My managers were very flexible with scheduling so that I could both work and take care of personal obligations.

A truly great place to work! Everyone is extremely knowledgable and, most importantly, willing to share their expertise. The company happy hours and other networking events would make anyone want to work there.

Place started off really great, but favoritism leads to dishonest and under qualified  people getting promotions.  They also will always side with leaders and never acknowledge moral wrongdoing 

Amazing company to work for. They are big on professional development & culture. They are very caring about their staff & set you up for success. Always looking for Business Analysts. 

Very little room to grow. Who gets promoted seems to have little to do with being great on ptojects. Leadership not transparent enough with contracts and finances.
