Working at Ocado group was interesting, I found you are best off to arrive before 30 mins of your shift start time in order to complete your van checks and maybe head on route before your paid time starts. Purely because you can sometimes finish earlier but also because you don’t know what road conditions will be like. 

More often than not you’re sent pretty far away from the CFC (Andover) so you need as much time as you can get, especially if you’re doing a Bath or Bristol route. The worst in my opinion. 

You are very much left on your own, which is nice until there’s an issue and then management are not very good at managing the situation… 

Overall I found it to be enjoyable but in the end it got too stressful with the introduction of a driving monitor telling you how to drive constantly & phone calls having to be made constantly which would hold you back!!

They seemed to loose respect for good drivers like myself who never damaged vans or property and got everything done and instead focused on introducing newbies who would stay for a week or so and then leave. 

Most customers were nice, some not so much, they should teach new drivers how to deal with this further and customer services should really be the ones who contact customers when issues arise, not the driver who is there to drive and deliver. 

It’s a good job though and easy once you’ve got the swing of it, I worked here twice so maybe that’s why I found it easier, not sure I’d return though as I say, it got too stressful for me in the end. I didn’t need a light up toy to tell me how to drive a van… I can drive a class 1 so for it to tell me to “go steady” when I’m doing 3mph was hilarious. all in all worth doing just to see some new parts of the country. I loved that part the most. 

Terrible place, planning section run the show and are clueless at what they do, cant take leave when you want, when you ask them to change a date they say no, no questions asked, while they are sitting at home all comfy. The AC and AM (on days shift) are useless, unless the OM likes you. We are treated bad. I have been at this place for over a year and what irritating is that the useless (personal shoppers) become AC as they know the AM and AC that are there and the good workers do not get recognized, the bad works are still there and do the minimal, nothing gets done to them. The AM in the morning are very condescending and treat us like kids. The same people (the hard workers) are always put in the chill section, with out the correct gloves and we just must work in there, that you are frozen and that you can not feel you fingers at all, no feeling,  wearing glasses does not help as they freeze up and you can see as you have a snoozie on but the AC and AM do not care. And if you off sick then you are told you have 4 more days and then you will face a phase one, we are humans we get sick, you do not get sick pay, neither and if you want work life balance you do not get it here at Ocado as you are working every weekend!!!  They do not care at all.

This organization seemed to thrive on a toxic blend of nepotism, high turnovers, and an utter lack of growth opportunities.

First and foremost, the work conditions were far from a healthy lifestyle. Employees were expected to endure grueling 12-hour workdays, navigating through an atmosphere tainted by toxic noise, unpleasant odors, and freezing temperatures. The erratic scheduling of on and off days made it nearly impossible to maintain any life/work balance.

Management at this establishment was anything but transparent, offering no meaningful insights into employees' career goals or future prospects. Instead, employees were subjected to empty words that never translated into tangible actions. It became clear that receiving favorable treatment hinged on the art of skillful flattery rather than merit. Growth opportunities were virtually nonexistent. 

Perhaps the most alarming aspect was the company's staggering four organizational shake-ups within a year.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Extremely petty and Untrustworthy Managers with no empathy, physically demanding with sometimes difficult driving conditions occasionally rude and aggressive customers do not expect to be supported in these situations it will be your fault 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The Culture is Toxic ,high staff turnover and your length of service and experience means nothing .People getting dismissed for the slimmest of reasons 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Stressful from the beginning especially if your name is up on the board to "see desk" which can be anything from simple delivery instructions to a meeting which might lead you to losing your job

Well all bonuses were gone due to company changes. Raises were very low, there’s some OT to make up some money. Morale has gone down due to quarterly events outside of work is cut down to one yearly event. Monthly meals are given to certain teams. Overall the company is at a decline and more jobs are getting cut by the thousands. It was good and promising when it first started but little by little they took away a lot of things as stated before. On the bright side of things the job itself is not bad just some day you will be doing a lot of walking and some days you will be working on one solo assignment. PTO is upfront and easy to use when needed. At least at the site I work at. Each site is different and ran different so this review my not align with what of facilities do on the daily. 

I really like that Ocado promote from within - as a new starter we're told how we can move up and around, told of others in the site that have started where we are and shown where they are now. If you have ambition you can go far in Ocado. 
The culture of Ocado had shifted for the better, and they are focused on the wellbeing of their staff. From salary to benefits, mental health support and working hours, they really have come on leaps and bounds.
As a driver, you are paid for your whole shift even if you finish your route early - and if you leave late you get paid for that too. As an office worker you are trusted to work where and when suits you and the business.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Even though company is still developing the job itself was great.  There are still more to be done, but that takes time. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Not having the things you need at times like parts. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Work environment was great, can't control certain people attitudes, but that's anywhere you go. There was no micromanaging so I really liked that.  You get the help you need when you ask for it. Overall can't complain. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
It was routine you knew what to expect.  It got busy at nights lots of  walking and maintaining equipment.

I AM through person to begin WITH  I ALWAYS ASK MOST HEAVILY QUESTIONS ON EARTH.

WHETHER I GET FAIR OR HON EST ANSWER FROM THEM I ALWAYS Aspirated And loved there working with them. they Welcomed me open arms &LEFT on good terms(even though cost business & raising my wages WERE difficult at times.)

BUT OCADO EVERY DAY Wasn't same as the REST days.
Some days you had  straight sometimes you had  Rough. BUT hey AS life GO Ahead it WON'T stop AS MY SAY SO.

GREAT COLLUEGES FREE COMPANY  CAR AT THE TIME WORKED THERE.BUT NOW THINGS COULD HAVE CHANGED MAYBE THEY HAVE TASLA CARS MAYBE 

MAYBE THEY HAVE OLD DUSTY CARS WHO KNOWS .

There isn't enough work to do for a full 12hrs so managers make up work and force dumb strategies to give the illusion of being busy such as making you stand while doing SCATA monitoring even when no issues are present and instead of improving processes to keep errors down they make the issues 100% your problem even when easily avoidable. Plus spending 12hrs sitting in a refrigerated building everyday  just to make okay money and have only 2hrs at home every night isn't worth the ever changing schedule and profit driven corporate company culture.

Overworked and Underpaid. Simple as that, management always on a power trip. You wont get any appreciation for all the work you do but the minute you make a mistake it’s over for you. No flexibility in the roster despite them banging on about it, hardly ever any breaks as a driver so don't expect to even be able to go to the toilet on an 8 hour+ shift. Poorly built routes will have you behind schedule almost from the get go. Some of your colleagues will be nice but most have been ground down by the system and are as equally moaning sods as management.
