These people were a joke. The interview was weird, favoritism at its best, and doesn't help you perform your job better; they just fire you on the spot. It was such a disheartening experience for me. Apparently, I wasn't performing to their standards, which is fine. However, they didn't offer any training to help me do better, etc. They just pulled me aside while I was working and gave me a fake nice smile that they didn't feel I was a good fit. I was only there about a week! And I didn't even do anything obviously bad. My work just wasn't done at the highest of standards they think they have. Meanwhile, all the other staff put in bare minimum effort and had no reprimand).  It was the way it was done that I felt was tacky. There's a reason they are always hiring for this same position. 

I taught at Odyssey for 10 years before leaving to stay home when my youngest was born. I taught under older administration though, so not sure how things are currently. It was a great opportunity and I learned so many valuable lessons that extended beyond professional skills. Employees made a great team and the focus was on the students and how we could help them most effectively. I look back on those years as positive ones and tremendous growth for myself. The hardest part was learning how to manage a team of aides (I was used to teaching a class solo), the best part was seeing student progress.

Each classroom and the school as a whole is a strong team that works together for the good of the students they serve. There are hard days where challenging behaviors are faced. However, the team-oriented nature of the school creates a support system for all to ensure that the good days outnumber the challenging ones. No matter the amount of previous experience an individual has, they are given thorough training and continued support as new situations arise, no matter how long they have been there.
The students and the team make each day worthwhile. There's no place quite like it anywhere else. 

Its a great place to work. Very team oriented. It feels like a family. They have been through a lot of changes though. It can be hard to keep up. The people are wonderful, but sometimes it can be very clicky. The Principal is amazing. She really cares about her job and the people who work there. Teachers are awesome and really care. 

I applied for this job with probably the minimum experience you are able to have, and I have enjoyed my time there. It definitely has moments where it can be challenging, but it does give one the sense of purpose. Everyone is really great about working as a team and helping you learn how to go about things. It is nice having a set schedule so that I’m still able to be present for my family. 

Working at Odyssey Learning Center was a very fun experience. I loved working with the children and the staff that I had the opportunity to work were exceptional. We worked wonderfully as a team. The hardest part of the job is having to deal with the behaviors. The most enjoyable part of the job was the fun we had with the kids and smiles that the kids would give us staff.

The kids themselves can be fun but not enough training is given from teachers and behavior analyst about how to react to challenging behaviors. The favorites got away with things like being on the phone during work.

I loved working at OLC! I came in with zero experience and through lots of support and training from admin, teachers, and coworkers  I was able to grow as an Aide and develop relationships with my students. Everyone is really close here and it gives a sense of “family” in the work place. You can tell that the staff are passionate about the work they are doing, even on tough days. I miss it so much! 

Odyssey was a great company to work for and provided a great experience. They helped and encouraged me expanding on my skills and expertise. I was able to learn about non-profit 501(c)(3) corporations and managed individual audits

A typical day at work was very routine due to the nature of our students. The students would get frustrated if they didn't go through the same routine every single day. Management was horrible and didn't care much about employees. Hardest part of the job was when a child had a behavior.
