A typical day as a claim adjuster involves reviewing new and ongoing claims, contacting policyholders, scheduling and conducting inspections, documenting damage through photos and notes, analyzing policy coverage, negotiating settlements, and preparing detailed reports to ensure fair and timely resolution of each case. From the very beginning, they made a consistent effort to ensure I felt included and valued. Colleagues took time to introduce themselves, offer assistance, and share insights that helped me get acclimated quickly. There was a genuine sense of camaraderie that created a positive and collaborative atmosphere. Whenever I had questions—whether big or small—someone was always willing to help without hesitation. The feedback and encouragement I've received have boosted my confidence and made it easier to step into my responsibilities.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Other departments say poor management is their biggest stressor. The most stressful part for me was when workload is light

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Friendly, arms length, some genuinely nice people, some not. Like any office. But again the perks mentioned above are part of the culture 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
8-5pm mo-fr. I complete my tasks and my job description while using my own time management skills and when I'm done for the day, I'm done and can easily pick up the next day

This company was a great place when it was stationed in Palm Beach Gardens, FL. I enjoyed coming to work everyday and the people who I worked with were friendly, knowledgeable, intelligent and kind. However, after the announcement of the relocation everything changed. The quality of employees that were hired were subpar! People who caused a lot of drama in the Palm Beach Gardens office were put in positions of power and caused a lot of stress for everyone. This place went from being a place of excellence to a dump! That talent pool significantly went down and we lost some of our best employees. Including myself! Steer clear of this place, it’s a freaking joke! 

New management, they have no idea what direction they are going. New Chief of Claims (does not have a clue of what he is doing) hired his own company and fired all of us (they fired me after 5 months)...how is that even possible/legal? sub-contracting your own company to write claims and profit from the company you are supposed to run and make sure claims are being paid accordingly. How is it fair for the policyholders that the CCO of the company is making money off of the policyholders?

Don't worry about being professional or having a good background in insurance. As long as you bring coffee and gifts to the new managers you will not get fired.

Great company to work for.  They provide lunches three days a week, excellent benefits, great compensation.
Lower management has excellent communication skills and the desire to help you learn and succeed.
Upper management has very poor team communication and has different goals in mind.
The hardest part of the job is the lack of communication between upper management, lower management and the rest of the employees. 
Overall a great company to work for.

This company has had rampant employee turnover for many years, now it seems to be made up of all the worst performers from all the worst companies that have gone under condensed into one hideous amalgamation of micromanaging, incompetence and I expect will go the same route as UPC, etc.
There are VP's and managers here that are barely qualified to be adjusters, claims handling is nauseatingly bad and I don't even want my name associated with the stuff going on here.

I worked a pretty normal 9-5 job for Olympus Insurance. Honestly, the people that worked there were pretty nice and my direct management was also non-micro managing and pretty relaxed. They cater three times per week and the company has definitely grown since then. I think generally people were pretty happy there though. Some of upper management used to have issues with the CEO, but I honestly haven't been there in a couple years now things could totally be different.

I know some people who worked there for years and have been stuck in the same position and others who only worked there for a year get promoted so fast. They also dont allow you to take time off even if you dont have paid time off. I was okay with just missing a day of pay and they fired me when i let them know a week in advance that i wouldnt be there and that i had no more paid time off so I couldnt just miss a day.

Micro-managing is embarrassing and sets up a hostile, fear-based environment; poor or no support from leadership for issues that arise; no tolerance for constructive criticism when process fails; too much polarization between those in the clique and those lacking the halo of favoritism; so much back-stabbing and gossip behind leadership's back makes for wicked distractions, false sense of security, and toxic "teams"; 100% turnover from CEO to adjusters.
