This was a great job when I first started and I still hold the company and upper administration in high regard.  I felt welcomed and supported when I first started. My manager was fair and supportive and didn't tolerate toxic behavior towards other coworkers. Unfortunately, in Corpus there is only one member of management there with HR at a different location so the one member of leadership determines the entire culture and there is no accountability or any other member of administration there to see or address the day to day issues or culture. After my previous manager left it changed drastically to the most toxic work environment I have ever been in, even having done travel nursing. Many coworkers are quick to throw you under the bus and criticize instead of offering to help. There is no morale or sense of working together as a team if you are not part of the group that's friends with management. Several coworkers noticed and acknowledged this environment but weren't the type to say anything. Management style is permissive and passive, ignoring big picture issues and focusing on micromanaging. If you are a person who goes along to get along, you will do well here. Personal and professional boundaries were constantly questioned and not respected. Toxic environments like this contribute to feelings of burnout and dissatisfaction and wanting to leave the profession for good. It's not worth it.  

This company will expect you to sacrifice a lot of your time and energy for the growth of the company. Management will ask you to perform tasks outside of your job description (which isn't clearly defined unless you are part of the clinical staff) and if you are not willing to bend over backwards there will not be any advancement for you in the company. Management ignores a lot of valid criticisms that staff brings to their attention. They constantly speak of how the Opuscare office is a family, but it is a tactic to exploit your kindness for the companies benefit with little compensation. There is clear favoritism within the company and especially from management and HR. HR is a mess in the Texas office - many people in leadership are not qualified for their positions, but it seems there were awarded the positions because of their willingness to give so much to the company, This leads to a lot of confusion especially in the office - you will very rarely get the same answer to a question from any management.

What is the best part of working at the company?
This company is the worst company I have ever worked for. The way they do business, they’re very unorganized, no company policy until something happens. The pay isn’t great so I wouldn’t not waste my time applying for any jobs.

The whole darn company is stressful

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Your coworkers are great they have your back but far as this there fake can’t trust them

I have been working at Opus for a couple of months. I can say that it has been a growing experience. I take pride in my work ethic and it nice to know that your hard work is not unnoticed. The leadership team is approachable and always encouraging staff to grow. My supervisor has been a fantastic mentor, guiding me to document better and become a better hospice nurse. I have learned so much about hospice from my team at Opus including CNA's, LVN's and RN case managers. I have never worked  in a team with so many compassionate CNA's. 

That company has the worst management all over the world, employees has no one to express their feelings and concerns. They don’t value employees at all. There is a strong “Cuban” culture with a big FAVORITISMS and lack of professionalism. It is a  Nepotism Kingdom. Every thing is about saving, saving and saving. The POC are changed all the time just for “ saving”. Overtime is not paid, they make employees work extra hours and then, they payment is done as regular hours. Don’t go there ever . YOU WILL SUFFER A LOT.

Toxic workplace. Management's let's the whole office know when someone will be let go. Pay is the lowest. There are employees there that should have been terminated a long time ago, RNCMs that don't do their jobs but for some reason the complaint is holding on to them. Find a better job, this place is horrible.

OpusCare is always geared to allowing their employees to grow within. Employee support and education is priority within the OpusCare culture in order to ensure that the best care is being provided to all patients and families. 

The worst place ever. The payment is the lowes payment of hospice companies, no consideration for the nurses, no respect, everything there is NEGATIVE. Plenty of favoritism, lies, hours in the streets taken forever. Some team leaders are really tough. The secretaries are more important than a nurse for them.

This place can’t keep nurses! They don’t train you correctly. The CEO in Miami is only worried about money & doesn’t care about employees!  The love to put incompetent people in Administrative positions to be a puppet. It’s truly sad.  Choose another company, ANY other company! 

OpusCare has a lot of  favoritism. They don’t care about their employees and patients. I would never ever recommend this company to my enemy...Never apply there!!!!!
