I was hired as a Prior Authorization Specialist, and my brief time with this company was unlike anything I had ever encountered. Having previously worked as a Prior Authorization Representative for a major pharmacy, I expected a similar level of professionalism—unfortunately, that was a mistake.

The two-week training program was inadequate at best, and management seemed well aware of its shortcomings. The first week had little to do with the actual job, consisting mostly of compliance modules . The trainer even admitted multiple times that they were still working on improving the training materials.

The second week was even more disorganized. Although I was scheduled for a full week of training, my trainer went on vacation by day four and five. I was then assigned to shadow another representative who, according to my next trainer, was doing things incorrectly. The training materials appeared outdated, photocopied multiple times, and I was bombarded with various forms and work instructions to figure out on my own. My trainer had also made comments indicating that asking too many questions was  discouraged.

Additionally, based on my experience,  the Prior Authorization Supervisor  lacked integrity and may not have received sufficient training for her role. Her approach raises concerns about professionalism and trustworthiness which would make anyone feel as though they have essentially entered a toxic work environment and have been set up for failure.

I could go on, but overall, the lack of integrity, structure and proper training made it clear that this was not a well-organized or supportive work environment. 


Orsini is a great company to work for through and through. I have worked for other specialty pharmacies in the past, but this place beats all of them. 

Work from home is available and streamlined for your success. Onboarding is very manageable and the team makes sure that you are set up correctly. Issues (if any) are always resolved promptly. Management is open to suggestions, is never confrontational, pay is very good, and benefits are great too. PTO accrual is very generous and they are understanding of health concerns. Work schedule is also  very nice. I got to pick between 8-4:30 or 9-5:30. Overtime is typically available upon request.

Unlike other specialty pharmacies, we work our own drugs. You are responsible for taking care of your own cases which eliminates the possibility of being liable for someone else's mistakes. If you happen to fall behind, most employees are cross trained and management will offer support from a coworker to catch up. Adding to that, management does not frown upon you asking for assistance. They want you to succeed! 

Typical workdays balance documented requests with ad-hoc management requests.

I learned that the front-line employees genuinely care for customers and take pride in serving patients.

I experienced management that did not place importance on regular one-on-one meetings with direct-reports, casual treatment of performance review processes, and practices that are usually displayed by novice managers, like "quiet firing" behaviors.

Other companies require yearly performance review so that goals and expectations can be discussed and agreed upon. 

The workplace culture is conflicted between employees' genuine care and professionalism regarding patients and the industry and the inconsistent support,  feedback, direction and communication from many leaders.

From day one they had no set training process to learn the systems they use. I was told a month in that they hire people on the background of pharmacy and assume we can self start. They also had nothing set up for the new employees, making it where I had to email my manager to gain access to all of the applications in need to do my job. The management there is nasty. They have no background knowledge of anything pharmacy related. When you ask to meet about a situation you need help with they turn it into a work review meeting. They do not give you a good feedback and the meetings rarely have a paper trail to let others know where you were and at what time. The people there are so nasty to each other multiple people have been harassed and bullied because of people not liking them for other reasons not work related. It’s like going back to high school! This place blows and is a cesspool of drama

The culture at the company is what drew me to the company.  It was Christian based.

Management had been a work in progress and had improved within the last year of my attendance.

My co-workers were wonderful to work with and the lines of communication were open and great for a business.  Like a family.

The hardest part of the job was taking on more drugs(4) to manage after taking on a lead position of 1 drug and keeping up with the same deadlines and expectations.

The most enjoyable part of the job was the ladies on my team and the working with the pharmacists.

I learned to listen more effectively with all members of my team and remain authoritative and open for their needs to continue or assist in their growth with the company.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Opportunity to work hybrid but in office is a joke - too many chiefs always changing how they want things done.  Lots of ideas that are unrealistic and stupid. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
From the CEO and through all the C suite there is too many different opinions and they play favorites.  Watch out if you don't agree with everything they think about. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It used to be great until the last CEO took over - it used to be like a family and now it is cut throat.  If you want to become a favorite you could get special bonuses.  There were quite a few going on while I was there. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Too many changes and no idea what needed to be done.

My review,  the team lead collector was a mean,rude and nasty individual  she was very unprofessional, how she spoke and dress.  she was checking her phone most of the time when she was suppose to be training.  I would nt recommend this place to a dog,  during the covid 19 this chick stated she aint wearing no mask!!!!! cause she aint got no covid.  she spoke poorly about the upper management.  while she is suppose to be training.  salaries where discuss among other workers how much one is making over another.  They only have one IT person, God forbid if this man quits or goes on vacation.  not a smart move.   

Started a new job at Orsini recently. HORRIBLE!!!!! My manager never bothered to speak to me or even take a few minutes out of her busy day to introduce me to any of my coworkers. Was totally isolated. My manager never set any specific expectations for me,even though I specifically asked for them, but was angry when things weren't done to her satisfaction. Maybe had I known what she expected I would have been able to meet her expectations. The job that I was hired for and the job that I as expected to do were completely different. The majority of employees are there for less than a year for a very good reason.

So bad there have been literally 4 HR professionals start and quit (or fired) in under 2 years. 2 didn't even give a notice! This place used to be so much better. Management keeps nothing confidential, will literally turn around and repeat what you said to whole team. Sold out to a firm and hired in a bunch of managers that are completely incompetent. Literally one plays Candy crush while hovering over you barking for more phone calls

Management sets you up for failure.  Instead of providing tools, training and chance to grow, management lies to you by tell you that you are doing a great job.  Talking about how they see you in other positions or how you can help the team the most.  Then the next day fire you. Medical benefits cost more than if you bought insurance through the marketplace. Two faced management.
