I do not even know where to begin with Overture. The training was non-existent, the director was clueless and probably the most rude person I have ever worked for. The way she talked to the other staff, host home providers and the individuals that she was supposed to be supporting was jaw dropping. Just completely unprofessional. The "office" was a cubicle meant for one person, but we had to consistently cram three or more people into the "office". 

I was supposed to be trained by someone from Colorado and after the person came to train me, explain my role and what I was going to be doing because the “director” had no idea what it was I was supposed to be doing, I was told by the “director” that I would not be doing the things he said the job required me to do. I was not explained or allowed to do any aspects of the job that I was hired to do. I was not given a chance to have any success. 

When I was given tasks and instructions on how the "director" wanted them to be done, I was CONSTANTLY questioned on why I did the tasks the way I did them. When I explained and showed her the emails that she sent to me telling me to do the tasks that way, I was disregarded and told "It was not my place". I have never worked for someone that was so ignorant and conceded. 

When we had to start working from home because of COVID-19, I had to use my own laptop ( I had asked several times for a laptop like the other admin had before COVID-19) and was not provided with the proper equipment to be able to work productively and efficiently. My requests for assistance with certain tasks were disregarded and I was talked down to for asking for help. 

This was by far the worst experience I have ever had with any employer and I normally would never leave a negative review about anyone, but I feel like people need to be given a heads up about Overture in Reno. Terrible employer!

Working here was a joy. An eye opening experience for someone who has never worked in the field before. 

The people you service truly touch your heart. They will open your eyes and teach you more than you imagined.

The position will not be without its challenges, as with every job one takes. What is a given, at least it was for me, that on any day there was always at least one or two moments where I found myself uncontrollably smiling or laughing. 

Approach the position with an open mind and heart, and I'm certain you will enjoy your time. 

In a perfect world, there could be more monetary support from upper management. However, this is not necessarily a fault of there own. More-so, as far as I understand, how the billing process works which unfortunately gives little compensation for services performed - At least this is how I've come to understand it. I could certainly be way off base in saying so.

You will find yourself on your feet quite a bit, and driving considerably at times. Make sure you are taking care of yourself outside of work to mitigate any potential burnout.

Do no underestimate the value of daily documentation. It is a necessary requirement in the position. It would be wise to not fall behind, as you will then find yourself playing catchup for quite a bit. 

Lastly, have fun. I feel this goes without saying, but it can be forgotten at times. You will find yourself connecting with others in ways you didn't imagine. 

I thoroughly enjoyed my role as a Program Coordinator, where every day brought a new and exciting challenge. The job allowed me to blend my organizational skills with my passion for helping others, as I orchestrated various projects and initiatives with precision. Coordinating schedules, managing resources, and ensuring seamless communication across teams not only kept me engaged but also gave me a profound sense of accomplishment. The collaborative environment fostered by the role enabled me to build strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders, making each successful program a shared victory. Witnessing the positive impact of our collective efforts and contributing to the growth and success of the programs made my experience incredibly fulfilling and rewarding.

A family type atmosphere, and everyone helps each other

Updating the medical records medication records, making sure all individuals are going to their primary care, doctor appointments, vision appointments, and dental appointments and getting all their

They promote a culture of helping those with disabilities, but in reality care only about billing hours. They are willing to put the clients at risk as long as they can bill for it. The manager has a good heart, but is clueless when it comes to running things properly. The lead would rather judge and gossip then do his job. The places is dirty and unorganized. Co-workers who've been their years say they make the same as new highers and never get a raise. 

I appreciate the flexibility I'm afforded--can work remotely and in office. I feel incredibly supported by my direct supervisor, and the leadership team in general. They listen to concerns and implement changes based on these discussions. Our office culture is positive and supportive; we work well together as a team. One of the hardest parts of the job is being on-call and coordinating monthly home visits; one of the most enjoyable parts of the job is getting to know the people we serve and being able to advocate on their behalf.

Meeting new people and companies within the community! Establishing some amazing relationships.

Everyone follows different rules and isn’t held to the same standards.

A kindergarten playground is more organized and enjoyable.

A day of chaos and uncertainty.

Human service jobs are always very hectic there is no way around the stress you will experience. This company really advocates for work life balance and takes care of their employees. Tons of room for growth. I am given atonomy to make professional decisions as I see fit and feel that I can trust my coworkers and supervisors and I feel consistantly supported. 

They hire allot of  millennial women. For some reason and I’ve noticed at conferences and trainings that none of the men who are married we’re wearing their wedding rings. 

 Too many meetings too many  Chiefs and not enough Indians. 
 It’s all about the  bottom line. If you don’t do what they say they’ll trash you all it takes is one person who is on the inside to say a negative thing about you and you’re on the outs doesn’t matter how great you perform.

It's a great place to work. The owner of Overture really cares about the people we serve which is very inspiring! I was taught from the very beginning that we serve our people first and foremost. The PC position is a hybrid remote position which allows for some flexibility. We have weekly team meetings and weekly one on one meetings. I would recommend it!
