Employee's are worked into the ground with little regard to their overall wellbeing. They hire more travelers than in house employees, and pay them 4 times the amount than what they pay their core-in house staff. All while expecting their core employees to carry the workload of 3-4 employees and picking up the slack left by most travelers. There is little room for advancement, that is unless you are best friends with the managers/leaders. They continue to lose some of the best employees because of their unwillingness to compensate fairly, and create a safe work environment that is beneficial for both patient and co-workers alike. Until leadership opens their eyes and sees these truly dire mistakes their chosen friends/managers are making, they will continue losing employees who truly care about this hospital, and will soon be staffed by 100% travel employees. 

Working at OZH, I have found the MOST coworkers are lovely. As in most jobs there’s always a few coworkers that you just don’t get along with, however. Management leaders are often pulled away from departments for meetings that don’t make sense, management often will tell coworkers different things, hold different levels of standards depending on coworkers, and sometimes put decisions on coworkers that shouldn’t be. Patients often ask why OZH charges are so high and I have yet to find a suitable answer and often have to direct them to disputes of get their information to pass on to management. With lack of retention, often times coworkers get overwhelmed with work and get frustrated with the workload they face and the compensation for their workload. 

OMC is the biggest employer in town. The local economy depends upon it.  Physicians and high level nurses are paid well / competitively. But finances fluctuate every few years and there are periods of tremendous growth and optimism, followed by periods of regression and layoffs. These cycles seem to rotate every 3-4 years. Staff turnover is above average. There was a culture of fear of losing your job. There are very few "long term" employees that remain.  On the other hand, the hospital system continues to survive. All of the top level management team has been churned - all new management is in place from the CEO down to VP's and several Directors. The Board of Directors are all local folks who are invested in the local community and want to see the small hospital system survive and thrive.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Coworkers that become friends is the best part. Unfortunately admin does not value support staff and treats them as if disposable. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Unless you are director level or above, no one listens to you. It doesn’t matter how much experience and knowledge you have, the administration feels as though you are beneath them. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Bad moral. You are told everyone matters but they don’t follow through to ensure it actually happens. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Being told to do things against state regulations and defending myself against not doing them. Correcting others errors and no accountability for those consistently making the errors.

This company tops my list of bad companies to work for. Very poor management. Half of the time they don't know whats going on. They have neetings about having other meetings. I was hired on and lied to in the interview. I have alot of skills that were never put towards this job. You have to be a big butt kisser to suceed with this company. No advancement unless you are under managements desk. Constantly have to watch what you say around others and constantly have to watch your back or they will fire you and make something up for the reason. There is no loyalty for their employees. I wasnt fired and put my notice in. Not going to give them the satisfaction to fire me.

Typical day at work consisted of customer service of clients in a Behavioral Healthcare clinic.  I learned quite a lot about mental illnesses and their treatment by constantly asking others with more knowledge than me.  Management often asked what could be done to help staff accomplish their jobs better.  The hardest part of the job was working with very difficult customers and trying to please people who, due to their mental illness, could not be pleased.  The most enjoyable part of the job was when I was able to help a client and they benefited from my help.  All staff worked with each other to accomplish this.

Kitchen and evs staff are not treated equally to other employees by management. New staff are not properly trained and as a result don't have the knowledge they require when sent on their own. Which leads to  other staff getting upset with them, which leads to new staff quitting very quickly. Then you're short staffed all over again. It's a vicious cycle of frustration that could be handled better if management look for a solution instead of just throwing new people at it. 

I just show up and do my job.  I like the group of ladies I work with and we all get along real well.  I'm always learning something new when it comes to coding.  You never stop learning which is why I like this job.  Management is OK but sometimes it seems all they care about is the bottom line, not the employee.  My immediate manager is great and I am glad I report to her. 
The hardest part of my job is trying to get the documentation needed to code correctly.  Over all , I love coding and am glad I picked this profession to get into.

The pay stinks, so do the hours, they give them to the employees with more time. They only think about their business not that it costs you money to drive for an hour of work. The county nurse asks too many personal questions in front of clients. Then your clients know your business too. BUT she never lets out a peep about her personal life. HIPPA is shoved down your throat but what about our personal business? What protection do we have with nosey workers who stab you in the back?

Changed their name from Ozarks Medical Center to Ozarks Healthcare to make people think they are under new management when they are not. Management does not care about the employees or the patients they treat.  Organization has a bad reputation in the community.
