To tell you the truth, this place paid very well. However, it’s not worth the stress. They tell you one thing and you do something completely different. I believed I learned that anyone will throw you under the bus for attention. They say they don’t micromanage but they do. They play favoritism. If you’re not in the Lancaster office, you’re a nobody. They don’t listen to your concerns and management is fake. They will get rid of you in a heartbeat but will keep the most unprofessional “leaders.” 
They give accolades to you at 9am and come 4pm they think about firing you.
I enjoyed some of the coworkers but it was a hostile work from home environment. 
They tell you that you won’t have a big caseload and they give you a high caseload as soon as you’re done with their most basic training. 
The CEO gave more attention to his other companies than PA Health Management. They talk about being a “family” but honestly, it was like a high school. They change policies and the format of the job way too much. They move people around thinking it would be better for the company but it reality, they make it worse and don’t know what some jobs entail. 
The last thing I will say is this, if you value yourself and look at yourself as a person, stay away from this place. They will run you into the ground and take full advantage of you. They will talk happy in front of your face and like trash when you turn your back. They’re not helpful. They will honestly belittle you and talk to you as if you are disposable.. in which most of their employees were. Save yourself the trouble and never work for this company. Money is good, the bribes were ok, but it’s not worth it.

I have worked off and on for PAHM for a little over 2 years. Management is so helpful, PTO benefits are well balanced, and even your team members are there to help. The most enjoyable part of this job is being able to help others in your community, as well as being able to feel fully supported in what you do with your team. This job has taught me that the normal realms of an employer do not exist, as in, When i first started, i was always waiting for the other shoe to drop or for it to be too good to be true. They have shown me that they care for their employees and actually want you to succeed in your role, as well as advance when the time is right! The hardest part about the job is organization and note keeping for all of your caseload. Caseload amounts vary depending on the amount of referrals we have coming in, but seem to range around 40-50 participants. This can be taxing at times when everyone needs something all at once, but your team and management will support you through it well due to not everyone having a challenge on their case load all at the same time. There will be days you have less when others have more, and vice versa. Everyone works together and is willing to step in the help with challenging tasks, training, questions, and caseload needs during any point you may need! Training is also very in depth and they will not let you flounder. They make sure you know what you are doing before sending you out on your own. I highly recommend this job, I left twice and came back due to not being able to find a better work environment. That says a lot about a place and their values vs. other employers! 

This place served its purpose for me. It was flexible and remote work was what I needed. My direct supervisors were great. However, the longer I worked there, the more clear it was how upper management plays favorites. They give people empty promises. It became obvious they only promoted friends of upper management, even if that meant promoting people who did not have the credentials for that position. The management is also very unprofessional and can be downright rude. If you did not work in the office setting, you did not exist to them. I could not trust management and could not trust I would have job security. In addition to those issues, all this company cares about is getting money. They take on too many clients and overwork the employees and have unreasonable expectations. The purpose of the job is to help your clients, but instead we were checking clients off a list each month to remain compliant. I no longer felt I was in human services, but rather in customer service. The company is also at the mercy of the MCO, which is a particularly terrible MCO that is constantly changing procedures with no notice. All in all, do not work here unless you want to make a quick dollar while doing remote work. Even with the flexibility, it is a miserable job and i dreaded logging in each day. Management is sneaky and unqualified, and the pay was low for the job you do. 

My typical day at work is either spent contacting participants or completing assessments and home visits.  Working from home is a huge benefit and allows me the time I need to focus on meeting the deadlines.  To work here, you have to be able to manage your time effectively, or you could fall behind on deadlines.  I have found that the team I was assigned to is supportive and will jump in to help out; all you have to do is ask.  You also have to have a flexible personality and understand that things change daily in human services, and be able to adjust your workflow and attitude, especially during the QC process, which is a large part of the job, but it is necessary to ensure that work is being done correctly and efficiently.   The biggest negative that I have encountered is that the technology provided to you, which is an iPad, is not sufficient to do your daily tasks, often jams, and doesn't have full access to some of the programs you need, and most likely will have to go out and buy something on your own that allows you to complete your job.   Another con is low pay; with the increased cost of living, pay raises would help improve morale.

The best aspect of this job is the remote work setting.


What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The lack of training, the internal system and software are horrible, the IT team never responds, the leadership  is quick to implement punitive policies and restrictions but never address or take accountability for issues that concern employees. Everyone here just points the finger and nothing gets resolved. The overall tone is condescending and they are not transparent at all. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The culture is weird. You don't really know who is who and all of a sudden they are asking you to do something that is required immediately via email or a chat as though they are your supervisor. Not to mention more than half the time they are wrong. And then there’s the fact that (due to lack of core training) no one really knows to correct way of completing certain parts of an assessment because everyone is used to doing it their own way based on their own understanding. Its a stressful space.

Working at PA Health Management as a Service Coordinator has been an empowering experience. Training is one-on-one and gradually introduces participants and tasks, including caseload management, EIM documentation, and compliance updates. I enjoy visiting participants, advocating for their needs, and ensuring their care plans are accurate. Management and the team are highly supportive, providing weekly one-on-one check-ins and team meetings to discuss cases, resources, and solutions. PAHM values work ethic and growth, making promotions accessible and supporting career development. I’ve learned to navigate PAHM systems effectively, manage my caseload, and provide meaningful support to participants. The workflow is smooth, and I feel valued, supported, and part of a company that truly cares.

This job was good initially but quickly went downhill when they started working with a new MCO. Many things changed for the worst and expectations are not realistic. Management did not fight for better conditions for services under new MCO and agreed to policies that they knew were difficult to execute. Additionally, working hours did not include time for lunch or bathroom breaks, if you were below “acceptable” amount of billable units your daily work was question. Management also seemed to not care about clientele, we were instructed to lie about state medicaid policies in regards to family members working for home-care agencies and some managers even insinuated that most clients were dishonest about their level of care. They also expected work they didn’t pay for: gave me a supervisory position but said I wouldn’t get pay raise until after 90 probationary period, but still wanted me doing extra work on top of my own. 

Being in the Social Services field for quite some time, I have worked for many different agencies over the years.  Every one of them has their individual pros and cons.  However, that being said, I am about a month into my employment here at PAHM and have experienced nothing but the pros.  Yes, there is paperwork, but that follows a Social Worker to every post.  What I personally find so awesome working for PAHM is the organization itself; top notch people combined with top notch IT, and an unbeatable FAMILY atmosphere!  I've seen some negative reviews among the majority of positive, and I will say that if you are a "Glass half Empty" kind of person/thinker, then maybe the field just is not for you.  If you want to seriously make a difference; LOVE working with great people, and are looking for the place of employment that "cannot possibly exist in todays work force", then PAHM is for you! 

A toxic work environment. The owner considers it appropriate to yell at the staff when he’s having a bad day if he even decides to be involved every once in a while. Lack of focus on services for participants. More focus on bringing more and more participants. Have people scattered throughout and are the assigned service coordinator but you have to do their visits and they document as though they were the ones who did the visit and work. System automatically enters information for you and my manager enters and modifies notes without anyone thinking they know anything. The owner considers it alright for people from another country to document in participant files and nurses from another country reviewing participant files. How that’s alright I don’t even know. Too risky working for this company so was definitely time to go. 

Management sucks. They hire affordable inexperienced people and expect them to have the output of someone with years of experience. They will "teach" you things by having you attend training where someone will drone on for 2 hours about something you barely understand the basics of, and then expect you to be able to replicate what they're doing perfectly. They also "train" you by signing you up for online courses that they expect you to finish outside of work hours. The only help that in-training employees can receive is from overworked employees who are too busy to find time to help anyway. 

The CEO often makes multiple inappropriate remarks toward employees. Other members of management won't even manage to learn who you are because you clearly do not matter to them.  Management will regularly switch between talking about promoting and firing you based on their mood that day.
