I have been working at this organization for several years, and I've noticed that management often prioritizes their own interests. This is a common issue in many companies, but it is particularly problematic when working with intellectually disabled individuals who require various resources for proper job execution. Often, employees must personally procure these resources at their own expense to ensure hygiene and avoid contamination. Additionally, the training process is disorganized, potentially resulting in employees receiving reprimands for incomplete training without proper communication regarding deadlines.

Furthermore, staff burnout occurs frequently due to understaffing and long working hours. Despite being assigned to sleep shifts, employees are expected to stay awake and perform regular checks on those living at wake sites. The significant staff turnover can be attributed to challenging working conditions where supervisors often neglect growing hostility among employees.

Certain locations require one-on-one care during specific times of the day, making it difficult for single staff members to manage two individuals simultaneously. This challenge further complicates mandatory outings multiple times per week. Despite being aware of these issues, supervisors often place undue pressure on employees.

Lastly, when hiring external candidates for supervisory positions, some individuals may lack experience in that role which consequently leads them to treat overworked and dedicated long-term employees unfairly. Upper management often dismisses petitions for grievances regarding employee write-ups by assuring that they will disappear within a year—an assurance that turns out to be false.

Overall, the experience with PATH taught me a lot while I got to traverse the city and learn the workings of various agencies (PHA, behavioral health, SSA, etc.) around the city. 

I felt the sense that my work was good, but never good enough. Management tended to micromanage and were often times dismissive and/or passive aggressive.  

My manager once laughed at my pay raise request at my annual evaluation. During client reviews, I got the sense that the issues clients faced weren't taken seriously.

Case managers are told that this job is not about money/productivity, but the actions and expectations from management say otherwise.  We were sometimes expected to work overtime without pay while never overtly stating it. 

What you invest into your workers is what gets low turn over rates and high productivity. I wanted suggest this place to work because they don't train you before putting you to work. I had to orientate myself and learn how to do the job using YouTube. I had never taken vitals before nor am I a certified nursing assistant but that was the job they expected me to do. The communication was horrible I.g I never knew who I was working and had to school myself on the spot on the job through readings is ISP. My last paycheck had to be debated because supervisor never turned in my timesheet. Smh unethical work environment

My daily routine consist of doing daily rounds, conversing with fellow coworkers regarding previous shift and preparing for shift. I would start waking up residents and dispense meds by scheduled times. I learned in more detail about different types of diagnoses with the help of very informed managerial staff as well as peers with vast experience in the field. The hardest part of the job is to not get to involved and set to high an expectation for residents. The most enjoyable part of the job was seeing a successful discharge and hearing form them from time to time after discharge.

Your typical day can range from normal working hours to an emergency and you be required to stay until resolved. This may not occur often but at some point it will.

The most enjoyable part of the job is the clients. Even the most difficult case has a silver lining and they want change, structure and growth. The support given them will make a difference in your working relationship and gaining their trust.

Taking care of disabled consumers that are or were not in a position to take care of themselves.  I have learned that we all need help and it is ok to receive help. The hardest part of the job in this field is getting attached to the consumer and then for whatever reason there is a departure to an awesome friendship.  The most enjoyable is knowing you are being a blessing and gaining a friend who you depend on and depends on you.

I was hired and worked at Path for a brief period of time. However, during my time at Path I encountered poor leadership, lack of communication and poor relational experience. The leadership did not provide an environment where I could thrive or provide an autonomous environment where growth could be obtained. 

I always make sure that all necesary things are done and the client had all their needs,we always give client privacy on what so ever they are doing until they need your help, i've learned a lot and the job is not hard as long as you know what you are doing and make sure that you don't neglect the client and you have to make that thay they are confortable around don't yield at them or try to be violent.

Path is a good company to start your mental and behavioral health career if that’s where you want to go. A lot of benefits and competitive salary for case managers. However, promotions are few and far between. They don’t seem to promote from within often. The productivity that we have to meet is unrealistic. I was lucky to have a terrific supervisor I worked under. I realized my experience in this regard is not commat PATH.

When you in nursing or any field related to healthcare this is the job to get your experience. Your working  with mental health and mental retardation clients. You are doing a lot for them but you are encouraged to promote independence if possible depending on clients.
