This SNF was like most others: understaffed, high-turnover, lacking in direction from management, ect. Except it was bought out by newbies to the industry (or something like that). 

The pay is severely low for new-grad CNAs here, even w/ them being on the lower-end of beds. In the time, the raises were minimal (near non-existent) which is the reason for leaving -- as well as being overworked while being expected more and more as time went on. Where there used to be 5 CNAs to one floor, in the end there was (w/ great luck) 2-3. That was about 16-20 PTs per aide... Things quickly became unsafe. 

They definitely catered more to certain PT/residents to avoid issues. There was a strong sense of cliquey behavior amongst tenured staff and staff from same backgrounds. It made for toxicness and anyone not in those groups felt alienated. 

Overall, would only really rec. this place to garner experience and promptly leave -- even then, there is an abundance of other choices.

Expectations of work load unrealistic , belittled and threatened, if work performance not met  to the unrealistic expectations , instead of working out a plan, and helping to come to a common goal, then threatening and belittling, expected to perform certain tasks without clear, orientation and in training.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Most of the staff are friendly and helpful, unfortunately, some are click-ish especially management so hard to fit in and feel welcomed. Staff talk about management in a negative way constantly.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Constant unrealistic, work load, no time for a break because you are given a tight schedule with every minute accounted for.

I would highly recommend employment within Pearl Healthcare. 

Management is very supportive of all staff members and believe in work/life balance. The culture of the company is very positive and supportive. Residents and employees are happy at work and this happiness radiates throughout the Pearl Facilities. Whenever I enter a different Pearl facility, I am always greeted with warm & friendly smiles from the teams that work there. Pearl Healthcare acquired six additional facilities last year, and believe in promoting from within. Lots of opportunity! 

Employees are over worked and understaffed. If you have not been here longer than 5-6 years and “liked” by certain staff than you are not accepted. Staff is never on time, EVER. Management only cares to provide snacks to make people think it’s a great place. There is chaos here every single day as everyone does not have the same rules to follow. Nurse’s do as they please because they have been there so long. I think admin needs to have another look at her building. It’s falling apart and it makes employees miserable and that is why they don’t last. 

Scheduler thinks she is a manager.  Actual managers are incompetent and unqualified - feedback is often vague and unclear.  If you actually get examples of what needs to be improved upon, they are things that are essentially true of everyone.  No benefits for over 60 days after hire.   Management bites the hand that feeds them.  Some residents are nice and grateful.  Facility is OK (although often low on supplies).  Could be a great place with competent leadership.

I have been with Pearl Healthcare since 2019 and I cannot say enough about the owners and upper Management. They are  so involved in the day to day and offer support at all levels. The culture is more like a family environment which makes the job i do much more satisfying. They care about the facilities and families, their mission is clear. I would highly recommend anyone to come and work for the Pearl. 

The scheduler is very unprofessional. I started this job as a part time CNA. However the scheduler would constantly give me a schedule that interfered with my other job & would then complain about me not coming in or not knowing my availability. For the short time I worked there, there was barely any in house staff majority of staff was agency. I switched from first shift to overnights thinking the workload would be lighter however it was worst some days.

Nothing really sorry I have to be honest.

The scheduler is very unprofessional. If you're not friends then you are treated poorly.

Very unprofessional a lot of nepotism.

Stressful..you may be the only in house CNA and the rest is agency. So you're doing double the work.

I enjoy getting to know the residents

Getting some of the residents to be active with activities

It is toxic the boss is rude she talk to the employees that she has problems with 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Long, exhausting sometimes not worth working for

Little to no support from the management team,  the corporate team and alot of in- ighting between departments. No loyalty to employees despite performance.  Bad behavior is rewarded with no consequences.  A few employees working themselves to the bone while others can do little to nothing all day without consequences. Patients care suffers under the umbrella of toxicity in the building.
