I was hired virtually, in which there was no formal way to learn about the company and position. After starting the job, I had difficulty reaching out to hr to gain information about my benefits. Minimal To no training, but I came with experience which was a plus. But the team expects you to know how to interact with high risk dangerous inmates. Supervisors were hands on in terms of meetings and getting to know the patients and coming up with behavioral plans. But most of it is politics at the end of the day and in a correctional facility, everyone wants to cover for themselves. During the pandemic since i am not covered for benefits until 90 days, I am at risk and vulnerable. There is no current remote day, therefore, the exposure to covid is pretty high.

PAGNY employees are hardworking, but work can be challenging since they report to NYC HHC CHS management. There isn't anyone in management who works for PAGNY. PAGNY will allow HHC to fire you without getting your side of the story. HHC is allowed to treat PAGNY staff horribly. The workplace culture at the corporate office is toxic. They are very mean, rude, and inconsiderate towards PAGNY employees. They make it known from day one that you are not a part of NYC HHC. The work environment was very toxic. 

While working at PAGNY, I benefited from excellent healthcare benefits. However, my experience with management, particularly my supervisor, was less positive. From the onboarding process onward, there were issues with poor attendance, tardiness to meetings, and a lack of proper training with them, which made it challenging to succeed in my role, especially as an entry-level employee. 

Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. I would not recommend working here.

Toxic environment, low morale, and if you’re not a physician you’re basically not part of what matters.

The people I worked with day to day were great, that’s honestly the only reason I stayed as long as I did.

Leadership did not value non-physician staff. It often felt like you were disposable if you weren’t in the physician group. And at the top, especially with the CEO and COO, there was a real sense of fear and favoritism—if you were not in favor, it didn’t feel like a safe place to be.

Love working for PAGNY, I've learned how to deal with different people, the people in this organization are so helpful when it comes to answering questions that you have.  This company really wants to find the best people they can to work with them, they care about all the employees that work for them!

PROS:

The benefits are exceptional, you cannot find better benefits than here!

CON:
As with all other companies, it would be great to get more communications and what's going on at PAGNY, since we don't always hear the latest and the greatest!

The best and only good thing about working here is the benefits.

Toxic environment, finance department is a mess

No culture, and toxic stressful environment 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Chaos, chaos and more chaos. Senior leadership does not care about the employees, they are all cutthroat and care only about themselves

Two good things about PAGNy’s hospitals is cheap health insurance and retirement matching. But salary is low and bonus is not guaranteed. Requiring administrative time to be done in hospital. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
Great medical benefits and 401k matching but if you work as NP do not expect to have yearly salary increase. My last salary wage increase was 4yrs ago. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Working in outpatient clinic and having to deal with administrators are more stressful than working with patients, the demands are not equally distributed in between other clinic sites.

The pay is great however the staff are just as toxic as the inmates, mental health unit leaders are trash. Egotistical. All the good supervisors left because of the low self worth of tge head honcho
 Constantly need to be reassure

new leadership that have no empathy and the culture is of long work hours low pay and no receprocity on how staff are treated. the new interim Ceo NEVER  responds to emails and is an DEM doc that have no empathy
